  1. Global war

Together, the United States and Russia still have almost 19,000 active nuclear warheads. Nuclear war seems unlikely today, but a dozen years ago the demise of the Soviet Union also seemed rather unlikely. Political situations evolve; the bombs remain deadly. There is also the possibility of an accidental nuclear exchange. And a ballistic missile defense system, given current technology, will catch only a handful of stray missiles- assuming it works at all. Other types of weaponry could have global effects as well. Japan began experimenting with biological weapons after World War I, and both the United States and the Soviet Union experimented with killer germs during the cold war. Compared with atomic bombs, bioweapons are cheap, simple to produce, and easy to conceal. They are also hard to control, although that unpredictability could appeal to a terrorist organization. John Leslie, a philosopher at the University of Guelph in Ontario, points out that genetic engineering might permit the creation of "ethnic" biological weapons that are tailored to attack primarily one ethnic group

  2. Rogue black holes

Our galaxy is full of black holes, collapsed stellar corpses just a dozen miles wide. How full? Tough question. After all, they're called black holes for a reason. Their gravity is so strong they swallow everything, even the light that might betray their presence. David Bennett of Notre Dame University in Indiana managed to spot two black holes recently by the way they distorted and amplified the light of ordinary, more distant stars. Based on such observations, and even more on theoretical arguments, researchers guesstimate there are about 10 million black holes in the Milky Way. These objects orbit just like other stars, meaning that it is not terribly likely that one is headed our way. But if a normal star were moving toward us, we'd know it. With a black hole there is little warning. A few decades before a close encounter, at most, astronomers would observe a strange perturbation in the orbits of the outer planets. As the effect grew larger, it would be possible to make increasingly precise estimates of the location and mass of the interloper. The black hole wouldn't have to come all that close to Earth to bring ruin; just passing through the solar system would distort all of the planets' orbits. Earth might get drawn into an elliptical path that would cause extreme climate swings, or it might be ejected from the solar system and go hurtling to a frigid fate in deep space.

  3. History perhaps the most important and interesting thing around us as a 14 year old I think its my fav. subject

so many unanswered questions and who knows something you do today may be noticed in 100's of years

we make history as I type it can not be undone even with a time machine it just happens

but remember this as you take make your next move, is it something that a new era of people will notice long after your gone or will you just be another one that changes nothing, doesnt set a mark, for lack of a better term "wasting" in the place we live today.....

  4. The picture shows the sun with a huge solar prominence. Special cameras were used to take the picture. Do not ever view the sun without special eye protection or filters. Staring at the sun can permanently blind your eyes!

The sun is mostly hydrogen with about 10% helium and other elements. The nuclear reaction in the core changes the hydrogen to helium and releases tremendous amounts of energy as light, heat, x-rays, and high speed particles. As this happens the constant churning of the gases causes an intense magnetic field and other effects. Sunspots, solar winds, prominences and flares are some of these effects.

so you got me there but I was just brainstormin!

  5. I've seen chinese athelets slow their heart rate to two beats a minute while underwater. i've had practice, but i'm nowhere near that good.. i wish i had that talent.

Impossible. Slowest on record for a healthy person is 30 beats a minute, by some swimmer.

ummm actualy it is possible havent you ever heard how ninjas/assassins can slow their heart rate? its not a myth trust me if someone has a heartbeat sensor or is persuing you youll want to know how to do it and its very hard and sometimes impossible to do because any bending in the joints or strain increases heart rate

and being healthy makes it harder dude not easier

my normal talent would be able to be the luckist guy in the world

    non human talent: BEND REALITY

  6. still another thing is also that anyone and everyone would have mutations because no matter your big walls radiation will get to you it wouldnt just be in tiny areas plus enough nukes dropped to topple the world i dont think people saying the radiation would have left by now is correct but lets keep in mind it was basicly the 50's all the way through so they also would not have much knowledge to do things like make a car or things to help rebuild other then the fact that MAYBE someone passed it on through at least 2 or 3 sons/daughters to still be around

Fallout3 is not meantto be a futuristic game but thats the mind trick toit, many think its 2277 wheres the flying cars and advanced tech. Thats not how it works imagine the 1950's and its government now imagine one progressing and one stoping.

The 70's??....never happened...the 80's???.....never happened.....and so forth everything from the 50's is the same EXCEPT!!!! the military but now its a dictatorship and people are mislead by them and fooled them sure we have plasma weapons but cell phones dont exsist and it was rare to have a computer unless you owned a big company or if you were in the government.

binary computers, rodery phones, and old time radio, and black and white tvs,no cable or satilite, perculators, no microwaves no cd players, eight tracks, cassets, no dvd players,or vhs. Just a decade a way from bulky cells and a better radio:P

  9. If anything bugs me about fallout 3 its this (but if it were like this the game wouldent be fun

ok if the WHOLE WORLD was nuked the nuke radiation would be horrible but Megaton...wouldnt exsist.....Rivet City....nope...plenty more but the only things left on the surface would be sediment and fine grain rubble.

no way anything that wasnt protected by a DEEP underground bunker built for EXTREME conditions would be around

tell me how a whole house could burn to the ground in a matter of minutes but a nuclear explosion with the temperture to melt a human or turn them to dust instantly only burn half a house?????????????????????????????/ :wallbash:
