  1. I'am a fairly veteran modder, but I've stumbled upon a problem.

    Ok, example.

I create a new form id of let's say the suburban couch. Then I edit the texture to my liking and add it to my newly named couch. After that I save it in GECK.

When I enter that cell with the newly retextured couch it crashes.

Now I've narrowed this problem down to furniture markers. So anything with a furniture marker that i make a new form id & retex crashes.

I've tried couches, chairs, and beds. This also occurs when I make a new nif and import it into the GECK.

So, if I import my new nif without furniture markers, in other words as a static, it works perfectly fine.

Anyone else have this problem? Is it the GECK furniture markers or what?

  2. My video card is a Nvidia GTX275 and I have an i7 920 with 3GB of RAM. As I said i don't think it's overheating because it shuts down at lower temps too. Also, worth noting is if I'am at the race menu, journal in Oblivion or anything that doesnt require much power from my card my computer doesn't cut off. This seems to indicate to me that when my card is taxed it just shuts off therefore shutting off my computer. How would I remedy this? By checking the temp of the video card? I will use RivaTurner to check it out...whats a good temp for a card when its being used like in Oblivion?

No, I dont see any glitches or anything either before it shuts off. It just instantly goes off.

Oh, and Turbo mode is some option Windows 7 gave me...it was Energy Saving,High Performance, or Turbo mode...lol I guess you know which I picked :P

  3. Coming back to this topic...I've been playing Oblivion for awhile on it and it does the same thing. I'am quite sure it isn't the overheating problem I thought it was because it shut off at 36 C and around there as its cooler in my home now.

From these conclusions I'am suspecting my graphics card. Maybe it hogs too much memory and my comp has to shut off? Because of not enough Power Supply? Or something that has to do with my card idk....please help if you know a solution.

  4. I checked my entire load order and...

I have pinpointed it down to my plugin patch created by FO3Edit...So it's probably my fault. Lol, I don't know what I did but Fallout 3 obviously doesnt like it. I'll just create a new plugin patch from FO3Edit and see if that works. It's kind of embarassing lol that it was my own plug in patch that caused all this probably. :ninja:

  5. Holy snap! When I unchecked all mods it actually didnt freeze and get an error....does this mean its definitely a mod i recently downloaded?

Ok, without any mods checked it seems fine until I try to load a mod then crashes. But, when I started a new game it was working fine. I just unchecked mods I recently downloaded and it still got the runtime error....hmmm...any suggestions now?

Same as the one listed above. I have a Nvidia GTX 275....the thing that really gets me is that it just started now after all the hours I've put into Fallout 3...it's odd to say the least

  9. Thanks for your reply.

I did exactly as you say and I still get the error. I've downloaded every update that was available, rebooted and started Fallout 3 and i still get the runtime error. I don't understand why it just started doing it. I've been playing it for over a year on this computer. That's why i said it had to be an update from windows that done it...but after trying through my restore point I guess its not windows either! I'am lost now.

  10. I just started getting this error also. I havent installed anything but the Windows Updates. So, thinking that those updates were the cause of the problem I went back to a restore point when Fallout 3 worked. Of course with my luck...that didnt work either. Ive updated everything and searched everywhere for answers and couldn't find any...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Ok,I've searched and searched and it seems like a simple answer. More descriptive...I've made my own mod by creating my own esp and I want to add a few items that are unique to other people's mods. I've already tried copy and pasting their meshes and textures and renaming them to something I want along with making my own object id. I've made my own texture and mesh folders and put them into the data folder where there supposed to go,figuring that would work. I'am doing this just on one object to see how I can do it so it cant be too complicated right? Everytime I check my esp and still says it depends on the other mod to implement the object. I've also used FO3Edit to clean identical master files or whatever and that didnt work either. Please this would be wonderful to learn how to do. I appreciate your time. :thanks:
