My issue with the game is the simple fact that 200 years after the bombs fell and outside of Diamond City there is no semblance of society.

Skeletons litter the roads, cars everywhere....somewhere in those 200 years someone had to think....hey let's clean up.

Yes, people are just going to somehow clean all that up. Ignore the raiders, ignore the monsterous wildlife, ignore feral ghouls. ignore packs of feral dogs, ignore super mutants gotta clear those roads and get rid of every skeleton.

200 years doesn't matter when people are having a hard time surviving in general, hell the NCR hasn't even rebuilt a single city yet and they're the biggest nation on the planet right now.

But he's got a point. I'm wondering the same since FO3. 200 years? At least walls without holes should be feasable. Houses that actually look like houses and not shanty towns.

It's not a biggie for me, but it's not logical either.

Because for the most part people are trying to survive. It makes no sense people would be clearing roads of cars or anything when they're working to survive and removing the cars or skeletons in desolate places wouldn't do a thing but waste time that can be used to farm, resource gather, building, repair or hunt.

  2. Actually - my 2 cents worth. I was GLAD with the release of Far Harbor. I was admittedly getting seriously bored w/the base game.

FAR HARBOR actually brought some LIFE to the game and it was seriously, IMHO, about time. *

I had a friend show me the "game" SIMS and I had to agree, the Vanilla Base Game was basically more FALLOUT meets SIMS.

    IE:

    Settlers and building the community.

The DLC to come Vault Tech and you get to "build" your own Vault. (very much SIMS. As I got to see SIMS in actions from my friend.

The DLC - Nuk-a-World is also from the READ going to be a SIMS / Settler as well.

I think this is why Fallout is likely going the way of the DoDo ... they have apparently run out of story ideas and have "dumbed downed" the game to be basically: SIMS.

But w/the release of Far Harbor and now some * GREAT QUEST MODS from the community, the game is actually more fun to play, a lot more fun!!

Except it's not going the way of the DoDo. It's still an immensely popular game that has sold a huge amount and was well received. All your post is is a giant obvious "I don't know what the Sims is but I've seen other people make this claim so I'm going to parrot it"

Your entire post is inaccurate lol. Just because they chose to put in a new mechanic doesn't make it "like the Sims or Minecraft".

  4. The Settlers are useless idiots who can't find work for themselves or even walk through an open door so there has been no change at all.

Uh, maybe you need to pay more attention to the game. Settlers default to whatever job is opened. For instance if there is a crop that isn't assigned the settler will go to it, same for stores and guard posts.

  5. Well - actually there is a fairly large number of Chinese - ghoulified - soldiers at Mama Dolces near the Arlington Cemetery in Fallout 3. And I think I remember a chinese radio braodacsting near the Citadel. I don't know how it fits in. But at the time it made sense

Those were all spies which ties up again in "China only doing espionage work in the US"

  6. Save on exit? What happens if I don't want to save at that point (e.g. did something really stupid. Or just messing around. Or got glitched into the terrain. Or something).

    Anyway to disable that?

    I always "qqq" anyways.

It's an entirely new save that won't touch any existing saves except the previous exitsave. You don't even need to load the exitsave, it's literally not a problem to blow up about.

  7. China fired the nukes because the US had landed on Chinese soil and was basically destroying them. The American forces were pushing hard into China to the point that China no longer had reliable supply chains. The only place on American soil that the Chinese invaded was Anchorage and they were pushed back, everything else was done through espionage and stealth subs. That's why you never see Chinese soldiers in large numbers on American soil, because there weren't any.
  8. Seems they copied many mods for making this game instead of making their own contents. I guess they start to be really lazy.

They really didn't though. It's also worth noting that basic "build your own base" type stuff is really not that original. Just because a modder did it first doesn't mean "they copied the mods"

  9. Well tactics aside there is remedents of the American government and a really advanced university of research or whatever they are. the enclave has hold of some the last remaining natural resources ( oil and such ). They also have the modified version of the FEV virus which probably wont affect the institute since they are pure humans not affected by the wastes and exposed to radiation. They could also make troops like Frank Horrigan since they have the origanal not just the modified version of the FEV virus i believe, and they could control them well since they did with Frank Horrigan.

well thats all I got most info of the enclave was explained and I really have no info on the institute that everyone doesn't already know.

Poseidon Oil Rig was destroyed so there goes them having any oil. They didn't make Frank Horrigan, he fell into a vat of FEV while on duty in Mariposa and ended up that way. He was a complete accident and it goes against the Enclave's ideology.

Given what has happened in Nice, Brussels and Paris how can anyone support the EU's open immigration policies? Uncontrolled Immigration mandated by Brussels was the tipping point in the Brexit debate. When a ship (EU) hits an iceberg it is not assured safety to get into the lifeboats (Brexit), but it's more dangerous to stay on board while the bridge focuses on rearranging the deck chairs as the ship goes under.

So your plan is to make it worse by encouraging closed borders and giving the people who are actually a problem more support. This is exactly what terrorists want, to spread fear, ignorance and hatred around so they can use it to make their enemies into the bad guy.

Brexit-like solutions is not the answer nor was it even a smart idea. At this point we've reached to the fact you can't simply ignore people and close down borders and just hope it all gets better. Because it won't get better, playing not at home with heavy locks just makes it worse

How is that 'making matters worse'?

Here in the states, we want to curtail ILLEGAL immigration. You know, folks entering the country ILLEGALLY. And you consider this Fascist/Racist??? Seriously??

It's to late to do anything about it and the only things to do about it would cause numerous problems both budget wise and social wise. It's way to late to stop it and the border is so huge there won't be an effective way to do anything about it. We've tried for over 20 years to solve this issue and nothing has worked. Border walls haven't worked, large border patrols haven't worked, large scale deportation hasn't worked. At this point it's useless to do anything about illegal immigrants from Mexico besides just giving up and helping them integrate into America.

That's not to mention that once we do actually try large scale deportation all it's going to do is lead to people rioting, attacks from both sides of the issue (though white supremacists are already firing the first shot) and large scale problems.

Oh yeah because the alternatives are working out just oh so well.

That lone gunman is because of the "get out foreigner" rhetoric that is filling politics throughout the western world, that's literally a problem the west has created and doesn't represent immigrants or refugees as a whole. One lone gunman or ISIS terrorists don't represent people running from them or simply trying to find a better life. There are hundreds of immigrants coming into numerous countries every year, one doesn't mean we should refuse all. All it shows is we need to stop demonizing people so that we don't create more extremists and we need to fix broken aspects of our societies and cultures.

Again, playing not at home with "if you're not like me go away" will just cause more problems and we're already seeing what that rhetoric will do.

  13. Brits should vote UKIP, French should vote Front National, US citizens should vote Donald Trump, and Russians should keep voting for Vladimir Putin. Everyone else should vote for populism over globalism.

So basically everyone should go fascist and racist. Yea, how about we not vote in people whose major platform is kicking out anyone who isn't the same color as they are. UKIP proved it's incompetence with the Leave campaign basically hurting Britain more then it helped, Front National is so far-right neo-nazis love them and even it's founder was criticized for his positive views of neo-nazism, Donald Trump is a moron con artist who has been sued over 3,500 times, is constantly spouting out incorrect racist views, is hated world wide, who is constantly employing white supremacists and tweeting neo-nazi propaganda, even his plans would not only ruin our economy but ruin the global market.

The last thing we need is a new Axis power.

Nevertheless you can hear a lot of whining from less fortunate EU member countries, claiming EU had ruined their economies. There are always good and bad sides of things, and main problem right now would be to measure up pros and cons correctly. I think UK did the math...

Yea through propaganda, lies and bigotry. UK managed to lose a large portion of their money, their GDP still hasn't recovered fully, the leaders who orchestrated leave are stepping down left and right, Northern Ireland and Scotland are pissed off due to a majority being in remain which could lead to both of them leaving the UK, poor areas of the UK will no longer get the EU benefits they relied on, city councils are finding out they've been lied to by Leave who said "hey we'll make sure you get the same amount of relief money the EU gave you" but whoops nope not happening, the NHS won't see an increase and due to the open entry and easy foreign employment EU citizens saw they will no longer be getting doctors and nurses to support their understaffed hospitals which is becoming a big problem and more and more hate crimes and speech are being reported in England.

UK certainly did the math, except they got a big fat F on the test.

Freedom is worth more than money, a concept the Brits still believe in.

I fully understand why they prefer elected leaders in London rather than appointed bureaucrats in Brussels.

Given European history I'll give the Brits an A+ in Poly Sci.

The UK was already free lol the EU isn't some tyrant dictatorship it's an alliance of countries that work together.

  16. I use to play it on an android emulator (I lack a smartphone or tablet) and it's actually pretty fun. There really is no rush and it's just something you can pick up every now and then without worrying about a thing.

Did you move the entire contents of the F4SE release into your install folder? If so, you may have to delete the "scr" folder from your Fallout 4 install directory.

I've done that Dan AND even followed IanPatt's advice to delete various .pex files https://community.bethesda.net/thread/3335?start=255&tstart=0

Sadly, like so many others I keep reading of on the forums, I just keep getting the *Play/Options/Support/Exit* screen over n over n over .... not even the full start screen anymore

I have no idea what is actually going on with this last update, but it really does look Beth' have rogered the pooch so to say  I just hope I dont have to reinstall my whole FO4 once this mess is 'sorted' because I had things running so sweetly (for a change) .

I don't see how this is Bethesda's fault. The base game runs fine, if anything this is a problem with F4SE.

edit: Anywho following IanPatt's advice worked for me. Game works fine.

  18. well I feel sorry for the people at F4se to constantly having to update f4se because of bethesda. I come home from a family trip and got new update then today another one. Is someone at Beth upset with f4se lol

No, it's just really hard to give mod support for a mod that uses a separate launcher from the base game's. Has nothing to do with Bethesda liking it or not, it has to do with due to the complex nature of the mod and the fact it uses a separate launcher from the base one means it will, of course, cause problems when the game updates.
