It occurred to me that for whatever reason the fallout.exe didn't write a config file for the My Games folder so i decided to take my old config files from my hard drive backup and put them where they are supposed to be and it worked. Now i have no idea what is blocking the exe from creating config files but it still appears to be unable to edit them. The exe starts up fine but the game is unplayable, graphics are messed up but at least getting it running is a start. edit: after an update to 1.5 and a computer restart the game is working fine, operation anchorage is loading fine and no problems yet

Hello everyone I recently had to reformat my computer because of a system error and i am running on Windows XP SP3. Fallout 3 worked fine preformat but post format the launcher doesn't run and gives the following error. Falloutlauncher.exe "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem" (It doesn't, clearly) Fallout.exe doesn't work either, clicking on it does absolutely nothing not even an error message. Tried fallout mod manager, same result I have tried multiple combos of different patches, exes, dvd, iso, with and without addons (only the pitt and operation: Anchorage) with no success at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated
