  1. Use player.addspell and the ID from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Powers to re-add those powers.

that did it, in combination with the resurrect skill I now have all the appropriate bonuses

thank you guys so much, now I can finally play skyrim the right way.

    To Remove "Ghost Effects"

    1. use the "player.resurrect 1" command to remove ALL effects.

    2. save and close skyrim, restart and reload your save to reapply racial bonus

    3. use "player.addspell <ID>" to manually reapply all your justified effects

**NOTE: I have noticed that after following these steps my perk abilities are not being applied correctly, for example I am not able to zoom in with a bow or dual cast destruction spells even though I have perks in the slots; however, I was able to fix this as well by using the following mod...

    cheers

  2. I've found a way to get rid of those types of effects (ghost armour echantments), but I'm not too sure how many kinds of other effects you may lose.

Use the "resurrect" console command on your character. I do know that you will lose any blessings, stone effects (like the lover's stone) or Paarthanax given knowledge and will need to revisit those to get them back. I'll check to see what other effects it removes.

Edit: It removes all effects given to you but a few. Agent of Mara, Resist Frost - Nord and Greater Magic Resistance re-appeared on the list after reload, but Resist Disease - Werewolf, Ancient Knowledge, Agent of Dibella, Sailor's Repose, Sinderion's Serendipity aren't.

Ugh, I'm not sure it is worth it.

When I use resurrect on my character, i am stripped of all active effects and upon a reload I got NO effects remaining. This is a start because its the first time I've been able to remove the "ghost effects" at all. However, I still should have my Agent of Dibella, Resist Fire - Dark Elf Blood, and Resist Disease - Werewolf, as you mentioned. I even tried the showracemenu command in an attempt to reapply my dark elf active effect, but it failed.

I feel like this could be a potential for a fix if we are able to reapply appropriate affects.

  3. Make 3rd person view open console and click on your character

    type "dispelallspells"

thanks for the suggestion, but as you can see a few post above it has been mentioned by multiple people that it does not solve the problem. My theory as to why is most likely because the affect is not applied by a spell or by any "timed" enchantment. Either way it doesn't make a difference. (also tried player.dispellallspells)

    cheers

  4. Some more thoughts on the matter:

i experienced this problem on 1.3.10.0, and I went through a full uninstall and reinstall and updated to 1.4.21.04. The glitched effects are all from armor pieces that I created myself and are no longer wearing. (I think i even sold most of the pieces glitching for me) The active effect is unable to determine what exactly is giving me the bonus. For example, when I highlight a glitched effect, instead of saying "Armor of Blocking" or something as the source of the effect, it just says "fortify blocking"

The fact that the problem persisted after a full install/uninstall leads me to believe it must be a same game error? - Just a thought.

I am about to head over to Beth forms to see if I can report the glitch there and see what I can find.

If anyone makes any progress on the matter, or has any thoughts please share since I currently am unable to play a balanced Skyrim.

    cheers.

  5. so here is a quick update...

I am playing now with CCC doing AA 4X and AF 8X, and my V-sync is now off.

I am planning on taking some benchmarks with Fraps in the next couple of days; however, as a college student finishing up the semester, my free time is limited.

I wanted to ask a follow up question regarding the classic Radeon vs Nivida. I'm not looking for a big discussion, but I am still able to return my radeon 6970 and get all my money back. In general will I see a better performance with a GTX 570?

Or does it come down to my CPU and just getting the settings right? Also, I'm not planning on doing any SLI or Crossfire.

The only programs I run during play are game booster 3, to kill unneeded windows services, and fraps so I guess I really feel like i should be getting much better performance with my $330 GPU. Is the CPU really dragging down the GPU by that much? - I'm not looking to OC in any way, I have no experience with that and I don't exactly want to take that route.

Below are my specs re-posted from above:

    OS: Win Ult 64-bit

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9550 @2.83GHz

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-X48-DS5 LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel

    RAM: 6Gb (3x2Gb) ddr2

    GPU: HIS Radeon 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5

    Resolution: 1920x1080

    cheers

  6. I am playing at 1920x1080, I updated from a 4870 to 6970 for the ability to max out/mod skyrim specifically. I am using the 4GB Skyrim address fix.

    @bobbydodo

I am done playing for tonight and I will try those shadow settings tomorrow

    @d3vo

my AA/AF can be found in the images (but i dont blame you for not looking)

    AA: 4x

    AF: 8x

as for overclocking i'd rather not take that path, honestly ive never overclocked in my life and I know little about it, but if I remember correctly it shortens your CPU lifespan and i'd rather not do that.

  7. Hi I am playing skyrim with a decent amount of mods and im getting low fps in towns in general. I just bought a 6970 and im running skyrim on ultra settings. my specs are below and my main question is should I have gotten a gtx 570 instead? Fps can run anywhere from 17-37

    OS: Win Ult 64-bit

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9550 @2.83GHz

    Memory: 6Gb ddr2

    GPU: HIS Radeon 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5

I really though that I would have absolutely no trouble doing whatever I wanted with skyrim with these specs, am I completely wrong?

    running CCC 11.11

below are screenshots of my game settings.

thanks for any help in advanced.

  8. There needs to be a mod to manage hotkeys created for both hands? ie F1-F8 be left hand and #1-8 be right hand. I have no past experience making a mod; however, this seems up their ally.

    cheers
