After looking through MANY mods, and MANY so-called "Best Mods Lists", I have decided it will be much easier, and much less time consuming to ask this: What are the essential mods to make Oblivion beautiful? For a person absolutely new to modding Oblivion, what should they start with if they just want to improve the aesthetics of the game? If somebody wanted to provide a list with mods that only focus on improving the beauty, that would be great! :thumbsup:

First off, there are a couple things I should mention. 1) I only rarely get the chance to use the internet. So I might not get the chance to check this for a while. If you want to make sure I get the help you give me, sending it in a PM would be best. If not, I'll try to remember to check back. 2) I realized that a list of my mods and possibly my load order would come in handy only after I left home to use the internet. If you need it, I will try to remember to get it next time I have access to the internet. 3) If needed, I will post screenshots of the problem. 4) I really wasn't sure if I should ask this here or in the comments of one of the two mods. It seemed like I would get a more reliable answer here, so it's worth a shot. Anyway, on to the problem: I am a huge fan of the DarN UI mods. The used to work amazingly for me. Now, I can get them to load and work and everything, but the inventory and loading/saving screen text is WAY too big. I can't see what any of it says. I'm guessing it's from a different mod, but I'm not sure which. I realize it would be hard to help without a list of mods I use, and like I said above, I will get a list next time I'm on. Does anyone have any idea what mod it could be? Or know if something other than a mod is causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated =)

Ok. Well... I've got a couple mods on it in a UAC protected folder, and it runs like a dream :-) (well it would if i had a better video card and more ram ><)

It either wasn't installed correctly, or the UAC was a problem. It works now though. I had to reinstall everything :( I still download it to the default folder because this is a shared computer and other people play the game, so I don't want to make them look for the directory if they need it for some reason. If these problems continue, however, installing them to a different directory should fix the problems. Right?

I tried the chinese stealth gear and some armor from mothership zeta...

I'll download the latest patch, but I don't see how that would effect meshes. Like I said, everything showed up before I reinstalled it for the first time...

I have reinstalled Fallout 3 a couple times. Yes, I install all 5. I'm pretty sure it comes with the latest patch. The only mods I'm using are the DLCs. The armor worked fine before I reinstalled FO3 for the first time. I had to do that to stop it from crashing...

Ok, so I've had some problems installing and running Fallout 3. Now that I finally have it running without crashing, some content won't appear. I have the GOTY. I reinstalled the origional Fallout 3 main file after I installed the DLCs, and now the load order in the launcher is messed up. It loads Anchorage and Broken Steel before the main file. I tried launching it from FOMM with the correct load order, but it didn't work Now the problem. The armor from the DLCs won't show. When I equip them, I turn into a huge "!" surrounded by red. Like a missing mesh from Oblivion. Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated. I love this game :D

I'm not sure. This is my cousin's computer, not mine. And as I said before, I wasn't complaining or blaming Win7, I just thought that MAYBE it could've been an issue... Anyway, I got it working. Sorta. Now I'm having problems with some DLC content appearing as an "!" with a bunch of red. Like a missing mesh on Oblivion. But I'm going to start a new thread, beacause this one is about crashing. Thanks for your help though :D

I'm not really blaming Win7, I was just saying that it might have been a possibility. Anyway, I reinstalled it and tested it for a while. Worked fine. Now I'm going to try installing a few mods. If it stops working, I'll try installing it to a different directory, outside of UAC protected folders. Thanks for the help guys!! :D

Honestly, it's my cousins computer. I live with him, so I call it mine. We don't know what our hardware is (not really sure what you meant by that ><). And we don't have a multi-core CPU. If we reinstall it, is there a certain directory we need to install it to? Or would reinstalling it to the default help? And would we have to reinstall the DLC's?

I just bought the Fallout 3 GOTY and installed it. My game crashes ALOT. I'm thinking it has something to do with my operating system. I have Windows 7, and the box says you need Vista or XP. I believe I have enough memory. At least I'm pretty sure. I have Oblivion for the pc, with all the DLC's and even a BUNCH of mods. I uninstalled Oblivion. So... any ideas on what could help me play it with less crashes?

@Raithfyre: i already have the race compilation. bored of them. thanks thought :D And i never thought about searching Dremora -_- i always searched Daedric DX I found a mod i had a while ago that i was really happy with. Ok, so i'm bored of all the races that i've downloaded and want some new ones :D I know there are some good daedric races, but i've never been able to find any. When I try to install Oblivion (i have the retail version) right when it gets to Oblivion - Meshes.bsa (i think it's .bsa) it gives me an error. It says something about a Cyclic Redundency Check. I believe I had this problem before, and I cleaned the disc to fix it. But this time it didn't work. My disc is pretty scratched though... Anyway, it will run just fine if it's already installed. Does anyone know if I would be able to take the Data folder from my cousin's computer and put it in my Oblivion directory? Kinda like manually installing it. I'm not sure how to really explain that... If not, I'll keep working on cleaning and repairing my disc ><

Yeah, probably. The only problem is which mod? I don't have any mods that effect any region close to Deepscorn Hallow, except maybe HGEC Body and Robert's Male Body, but I don't see how that would make an invisible wall >< Would the Midas mod be causing it? Becuase it effects the Beholden Shrine (right?) Anyway... I'm basically just ranting. Thanks for you help ^.^

First of all, I'm not entirely sure where to post this, so I'm sorry if it should be somewhere else >< Anyway, I FINALLY downloaded Vile Lair and bought all the stuff for it and everything, but now there's a problem. There's an invisible wall in front of the Dark Minion's room. I have to disable collision so he can just get out of his room. And it only seems to be a problem when he's going out of his room, not coming in. This is getting very aggrivating, and I can't seem to find an answer for it ='( P.S. I downloaded the Unofficial Patches for Oblivion, Shivering Isles, and Official DLC's Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

That's a harsh one! Although it's downloadable content it might take till Monday until they process it. The same might count for the fact if it's placed on Friday. That's probably it. I hope not though, because I put in two orders >< and besides, I already have all the DLC's. I had to "borrow" them from a friend >< so I don't feel like paying for them anymore...
