Hi! (sorry for posting another topic about this but I have not yet found a solution and I'm pretty desperate) I have a strange problem I hope you all can help me with. I'm level 32 and I've had no problems with my skyrim except a random crash every now and then... (we all do right?) So anyway, I was visiting Riften for my first time and I had to sleep. I head over to the bee and barb and purchase a room and head upstairs. Once I've slept I casually walk outside only to get an arrow to the chest by a guard. I was surprised of course because I hadn't done anything wrong. I try to calm the guard down by sheathing several times, but that doesn't help at all. Since there are no guards inside the bee and the barb I tried to steal a loaf of bread and then perhaps they will confront me as I walk outside. Nope, that didn't work either. They just keep attacking me. I THEN cast a calm spell on the guard and YES that worked! I can talk to him, I pay off my bounty but soon as I walk away from the guard, he starts attacking me again... sigh. I even tried to go to jail when I talk to him. As soon as I served my time in there they still want to kill me. I also tried to run away from Riften and fast travel to another hold. The guards there ALSO wants me dead. It didn't work to wait 3 days and then come back either. Many suggested that when I googled for help. 1. I have no bounty 2. I'm not a vampire 3. I have not killed anyone or done anything illegal so that the guards wants me dead What can this possibly be? This must be mod related somehow but I can't understand why it starts to be a problem NOW. I have played for so long without troubles. I do not run the mod "Civil war overhaul" either. THIS!! I'm playing the game for the first time now actually, and I WANT a good animation replacer! The vanilla ones are just... Hideous.

I've looked for a really good performance enb for quite some time but no success, so I decided to try this one. And I have to say, it runs really smooth! This is the best one I've tried so far for sure. It looks really nice, you can choose from either Classic, realistic, or fantasy presets. Right now I'm running Classic, and it's been great so far! Kudos to kingtitan for suggesting it. I highly recommend people to try this out if you have performance issues running enbs.

hmm, yes I remember this error message. I know for sure I've had this issue before. Check if you have only one Skyrim.esm entry in the plugins.txt file. If you have just one (or none), start NMM then uninstall a mod (anyone should do I think). Wait for it to successfully deactivate, and now go to your plugins.txt file again and check if there's two Skyrim.esm entries. If so, delete one of the entries. I think the txt file should be located in %userprofile%\AppData\local\Skyrim or something like that. Correct me if I'm wrong. That worked for me I think, and I tried many other things before I found that fix. Hope that works for you as well.

^ As Lord Garon says, it has to be some messed up mods or corrupted files / scripts. My brother had the same issue just 2 days ago about the health / stamina. And it turned out to be either Frostfall or realistic needs that caused it. A reinstall of the mods worked.

When I had endless load screens I just hit ctrl alt + delete. and open task manager and just end it from there. If you get endless load screens, try "Safety Load" on the nexus. It's a mod that prevents endless load screens. Read the description of the mod author first though, he suggests some stuff if you can't get it to work, it might depend on what config you are using. I have used it for quite some time and I have never had an endless load screen since I installed it.

You can try Gopher's mod on the nexus called IHUD or Immersive Hud. You can toggle the hud on or off by pressing "X" by default. Hope that helps.

So... I tried to melt down ebony now, and I could do so without a problem. But now when I read your comment again, it was elven you couldn't melt down, lol. Was so anxious to craft my new set so I just had ebony on my brains, haha. I cannot really check if I can melt elven down or not cause I don't have the right perk. But... I can't remember melting down ANY elven armor on my previous characters. Are you sure you can melt down elven armor at all? If so, what do you get? Moonstone? My brother and I play it and he said you can't melt down elven stuff. But he wasn't too sure. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Hmm, that is strange indeed. I need a couple more skill until I can melt down ebony. I will update tomorrow to see if I can melt it down. Or any other metal for that matter... I know for sure I can melt down rings and necklaces into gold and silver.

Hi Are you running a mod called Racemenu? It's an overhaul of the original menu that comes with skyrim. If you do, be sure to install the "ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer" on the nexus. It prevents CTD:s when you try to use it.

Do you have a load order set up that's working? When you describe the problem it sounds a lot like a load order problem. Do you have the right binary for your enb? that can cause crashing if you use the wrong one. Also, do you have TES5edit and BOSS installed? Those programs are really helpful when checking for problems, and why the game is not starting etc. I also recommend you to check out Gopher on youtube if you haven't already. He has many excellent tutorials on how to installs mods and how to avoid crashes.

I can almost guarantee that this is a load order issue. Check out Gopher's videos out on Youtube. He really is an asset to the community!

make sure you write the lines in the correct ini. I can't remember which one it is (I always mix them up). But try that, it should work.

You can also try the Shadow striping fix on the nexus, that removes shadow striping from light sources. But that's a problem with skyrim from the very beginning, and I doubt that it will fix your problem entirely. And yes, you should try add the line in your SkyrimPrefs.ini Make sure you put it under the right category. Good luck!

Hi I've had similar problems like these LOADS of times, but not the "Skyrim is not responding" on startup I think. The most common problem is mod related. Check if you have the correct binary for your enb. That caused me quite the ruckus a while back. I didn't remember installing the newest version of the binary and I had sharpshooters enb and that enb is only supported with the oldest binary. That caused my game to crash or just be non responsive. Another thing can be corrupted saves. I don't think the game should turn non responsive just because of a corrupted save, but just in case, try the solution pheo3309 stated. If you (like me) have loads of mods, and uninstall or install new ones, the saves become unstable pretty quickly (depending on what mods you install of course). Also, try turning off any programs that you don't need while you play. For instance, I have a program called Evolve. When I have that running, I can't start my game at all. Don't ask me why. Skype seems to be a program that lowers performance, at least for me. Just mentioning it (not that it will crash your game) And lastly, try turning all your graphic settings to medium and try running it then, and enable/disable Vsync and turn off initializing and the other option above or below (can't remember the name) The medium graphic fix worked for my brother when the game wouldn't start strangely enough. Okay fellas, I figured this out. I'm running an enb called Sharpshooters Enb. and apparently that enb isn't compitable with newer versions of the ENBSeries from ENBdev.com. I remember installing a newer version of that just because I thought it would make my game look even better. But no, that enb is only compitable with the oldest version. I simply deleted the d3d9.dll that I had, and downloaded the oldest one that I can get from the site, and replaced that with the one I had. So.. this was caused because of an enb! Dannyliuss: yes, it almost seems like it's mod related. But even if I turn of all my mods I can't get it to work. I think I remember all of the mods I've installed since I last played it, and I will try to uninstall those. I've had 150 mods before without a problem, so it's strange for it just to happen now. But even if I have a corrupted mod, wouldn't it let me get to the Bethesda logo at least? strange indeed.. I will tinker a bit with it and see what happens. Thanks again. Hi I tried to find a thread regarding this issue, but all I could find was random CTD:s and load order crashes. My problem though, is that I can't even get to the Bethesda logo. My game crashes immediately when I click SKSE. The skyrim window pops up briefly and then... nothing happens. I don't know much about modding, but I do know what load order is and hopefully how to avoid that. I thought it was a mod issue at first, but I'm not so sure now that I can't even run skyrim without mods. Things I've done so to make Skyrim start: Check my load order with TES5Edit. No missing masters or mods in wrong order. Checked if I had any errors with boss, but none. Just some warnings that I am aware of. Disabled ALL my mods and tried to run it. Cleaned the original .esm:s with TES5Edit (not the skyrim.esm) Verified integrity of the game cache via Steam. I deleted all my old saves. (because I was going to start a new character anyway) Did the %appdata% thing and checked if I had two Skyrim.esm in the plugins list, but no. Just a couple of months back I ran the game with all these mods I do know without much of an issue. Just some minor lag here and there because of graphics. an occasional CTD, but not often at all (no problem what so ever) and it's about 150 mods I believe. Also, I run the latest version of SKSE and a legal version of the game.

I found a way of doing it. I just disabled the race menu thingy in data files before I launch oblivion. I can still open the race menu. So I don't know what that is for anyway =P But thanks for the tip. Might be easier doing it that way! many thanks Sirius

Hi. I recently installed oblivion and a bunch of mods. When I finally started playing I noticed I had very much hp / magicka / fatigue for my level. At level 1 you're supposed to have 60 hp etc. But I had like 500 or so. I've tried to find anyone with the same problem, but there seems to be just me :/ I know what's causing the stats increase though. It's whenever I change my appearance / major skills or birthsign. My stats is increasing for every change I make. I'm playing on a downloaded save. So I thought that I maybe have to create an original character. but the problem persists. I don't know what to do :< I also want to add that it says "Player level reset back to 1" whenever I make a change on my character. If that's any help Any suggestions?
