  1. Something got mixed up. He has the height and he's moving like a giant.
  2. tl;dr version of the below: There is no right answer. You can find evidence to support either side in the rebellion. There is no right side. This is actually one of the only gray areas in the game. It's great. Only The Witcher games do a better job of presenting gray areas. Each side can be rationalized to be good or bad, and each side can be rationalized as to be the one that needs to win the war. There is no correct answer despite what anyone tells you. It seems the only right answer as far as sides go in the rebellion is that one side needs to win now to not be so weakened the Thalmor walk right over them. You could even make an argument for the Thalmor if you really wanted to. This is not a civil war any more than the American Revolution was a civil war. Skyrim is not Cyrodiil. They were both just part of the Empire that had its seat in Cyrodiil during the Third Age. At this point in history Skyrim is the last province left in the Empire. Hammerfell was the most recent province to be removed from the Empire as part of the White Gold Concordant. This is why you find some rather upset Redguards who proclaim the resistance is not over. They're still fighting the Thalmor while you're having your adventure in Skyrim. The other races all have stories as to why they're not part of the Empire anymore. Even in the Empire itself the current Emperor is not a Septim. He's a Mede. Titus Mede I took the Imperial Seat by force in the chaotic aftermath of the events in Oblivion. Two hundred years have passed since the events in Oblivion. Nothing is the same as it was. The events unfolding in Skyrim have no right answer. You're in the middle of it. Only history will tell if the choices made are correct.
  3. As icestormganon pointed out it's sales and marketing. Whenever you see something releasing early for any platform a significant amount of money changed hands so that platform could boast about early release for sales. Nothing more. Nothing less. There is no sense of entitlement when it comes to business like there is when it comes to fans of platforms. In the long run who the hell cares?
  4. I had the same issue with Marcurio as a companion. There is a hidden stat for companions as to how lawful they are. Certain companions will leave you if you break laws and others couldn't care less. I believe this bug has to do with that since you're not supposed to be in that lab. Luckily I had a save right before entering the lab so I just went and did it again telling him to stay back. For your situation you could try leaving the lab and going somewhere neutral like the middle of Markarth or someting. Enter prid 0001A69A into the console. This will target Ysolda. Then enter moveto player. This will at least get her out of the lab. Whether or not she'll start responding like you expect I don't know.
  5. I'm not sure about your problem, but you could try entering your CD-Key in Steam to download and install that way. It may not be your first choice. Just an option if all else fails.
  6. Console commands seem to be your only option here. Here is a list of console commands. The stuff listed around setstage is probably what you need. Read these carefully. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_%28Skyrim%29 Here is the specific quest giving you problems. It has the various stages listed to ease of referrence. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_Chance_Arrangement
  7. I had this same issue. For me it was a map tweak in my skyrim.ini file conflicting wth the latest version of a map mod. It worked fine before the update because before the update the mod wasn't altering the same value. The only advice I can offer is to very carefully check your mods and conflicts.
  8. I've noticed this as well. Unfortunately I have not found a fix for it. I had originally related it to my freezing issues, but I now think I have fixed those and the hitching is still there. I run mostly visual mods. I am wondering now if it is related to that, but I have no evidence.
  9. The problem came back. It turns out I was wrong about the issue being the HQ map. That is actually required for the high res version of A Quality World Map With Roads. I believe I've fixed it again though. Previous to either of these mods I had edited the map setting in the skyrim.ini. One of these lines read sMapCloudNIF=0 to removed the cloud cover on the map. The newest version of A Quality World Map With Roads is incompatible with that .ini tweak because it removes clouds for you. After removing that line from my skyrim.ini file the game is no longer freezing. Hopefully it will stick this time.
  10. I disabled the High Quality 3D map mod. I also had a mod for maps showing all the roads in the game. I think those two were conflicting since they both modified the map. I played for two hours yesterday with no issues after disabling the mod. We'll see if my good luck continues. Thanks for all the responses.
  11. This problem has started recently. Within the last week. Up until now the game has run flawlessly. When I move to a new area through a portal such as a door or any instance that a new cell is being loaded the game will freeze. This doesn't happen every time, but it does happen often enough that the game is currently unplayable. When I reload the game from the auto save at area transition I'm in the new area just fine. This also happens when entering new areas outdoors. Such as moving near a cave and having the name of the cave show on screen. It's happened 100% of the time if it's a new are on the map that I haven't discovered yet. I have no idea what has changed to cause these problems now. My system specs. Intel i52500K quad core 3.3Ghz CPU nVidia 560Ti 8 gigs memory Here are the mods I'm currently running and their load order. http://i.imgur.com/SLGTf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZHJJz.jpg
  12. Thank you for this. It worked perfectly for me. kudos
  13. Does anybody know where the music files are stored, and how to add or remove songs from the list? I ask this because there is one song you get when traveling that I hate. The song sounds like some constant high pitched ringing with some tinkling or something else going on. It drives me crazy to the point that sometimes I have to walk away from the computer and just let it run until the song is over. The rest of the music in the game is really good.
  14. Would it be possible to remove the heartbeat sound from the Cat potion? Thanks in advance to any modder willing to do this.
  15. http://www.witchernexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=130 The naming is different which confused me at first too, but this mod is for the Herbalist's Gloves.
  16. Hello, I've been using Nexus sites for mods for a long time now. I love the work modders do with games and always endorse mods that I use. This is the first time I've ever requested a mod though. Would it be possible to make the arms on the dragon scale armor match? I don't mind the colors or textures, but the mismatching arms bothers me to no end. I'd prefer both arms have the chainmail look, but the cloth look would be fine too. Really anything that makes the arms match would be amazing. I would just use a different armor, but I'm playing on Insane/Hardcore difficulty and I need to use the best I can find and so the Dragon Scale Armor is it. Thanks in advance to any modder willing to do this.
  17. Fallout 2 allowed you to repair and drive a car. It was basically fast travel and a storage space in the trunk.
