For me i just sided with the imperials... then later during the main quest i gave the imperials riften though the peace treaty negotiations... Which made Maven Black-Briar the jarl (I also completed the DB questline and the Thieves Guild questline) and she allowed me to buy a house. I want to marry that *censored*! :D

I have a feeling that one day... Maybe in DLC or a future Game, they will be back but they wont be the same.
