  1. 42 school buses, a whole lot of cement, and plenty of creepy -- if I still had a machine that'd run the GECK, I'd already be building the Ark II mod myself. But I don't, so all I can do is post about it here. The way in, with cargo conveyors and a decontamination shower: http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photooutside/x04park.jpg http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zbottomconveyor.jpg http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zdeconshower.jpg The main power panel. (Mind the puddles.) http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zpowerpanel.jpg An example of a bunkroom. http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zbunksbothsides.jpg And the corresponding dayroom, which is said to be at least twice as big as it looks -- so, two postage stamps. http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zdayroom.jpg Impressive fire-preparedness measures. I'm feeling more confident already. http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zfirestation3.jpg One of the kitchens, presumably captured via the internal surveillance system. (The internal surveillance system! Be comforted by the all-seeing eye of Overseer Beach, and rest easy in the knowledge that, as with every Vault-Tec Vault, your well-being and mental hygiene are continuously monitored and reviewed!) http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zkitchen.jpg The adult day room; the cage behind the table is the pharmacy, which...doesn't look like stretching to three hundred people, is all I can say. (Yeah, that's how many are supposed to be able to survive in this thing, for I'm not sure how long but it must be at least a year or two.) http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zpharmacy.jpg And, finally, the dental suite, complete with X-ray machine behind the chair. http://www.radmeters4u.com/arktwo/photoinside/zdental.jpg ...and you thought your dentist's office was scary. It'd have to be one hell of a toothache, that's all I can say. There's a map of the bunker, which is worth a look just for its hints to Overseer Beach's frame of mind -- and because, otherwise, you'd never know there was a sensory deprivation tank in there! (It's behind the pharmacy cage, but you can't see it because there's a wall in the way.) Apparently, sleeping in there with some Bach or some Beethoven, plus maybe a supplement or two from the handily located pharmacy, is all you need to take care of cabin fever -- which is good, if it works, because otherwise I can imagine there'd be blood dripping from the unsettlingly curved ceilings before a month had gone by. There's also a website put together by Overseer Beach himself -- like the map, not to be missed, especially since it includes views of the surface-level fixtures that I didn't bother posting here. Modders would do well to take a close look at this Penn and Teller interview, assuming you can stand Penn and Teller at all; aside from some interior shots not present on the website, it spends a lot of time wandering around the surface buildings, so you can get a better idea of scale and of how the place should be laid out topside. And -- as though it even needs to be said -- this place is screaming to be in Fallout -- for that matter, it looks like it's already three-quarters of the way there. (Seriously, that table and chairs in the day room/pharmacy?) I'd do it myself if I could, but I can't, so I'm putting it here instead. Here's hoping.
