2 KUDOS TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP (of me and my mate)
Drytor replied to samm72's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Check your load order. It may be that FOOK is after God's right hand so taking precedence or maybe the file does that anyway. It's going to be difficult to have two mods that both do the same thing. When you say normal power fist does the FOOK retexture not work either? Try them both separately first to make sure they are indeed installed properly and then it may be a case of creating two powerfists that the game rocignises differently and changing one of the mods to edit the "duplicate" power fist. I'm not sure how that might cause other issues though (duplicate in game items). Otherwise you may have to delete files in FOOK associated with the power fist to get God's right hand to work.- 9 replies

Double check your load order. Double check readmes to see if there are any conflicts. Have you tried starting a new game? The easiest way to test whether or not the issue is with your save or with something else is to try a clean game. Try a new game with all mods. If that doesn't work then turn them all off. If that does work turn them all on one by one and see where conflicts or your problem occurs. May even be worth seeing whether or not your save will run vanilla.

There's not really a lot people can do to help with such a vague description. Is your problem that you cannot play the game at all? Have you done a completely clean install of the vanilla game and is it there that the problem starts? Are you trying to load an old save or trying to start a new game? Try deleting local content and mods first and reinstalling to see if the game will run without any additional files. If this doesn't work it's a problem with your computer. In which case make sure everyhing is up to date.

The Blades have a much bigger role to play, I feel. You can literally do nothing with them at the end which is entirely wasted. If you look around in Karthspire as well there are loads of unused parts that they seem to have put in then just forgottten about. I hardly think they'll just leave them. At the peace summit - non civil war route - the Thalmor basically tell you they know who you are and they see the old Blades. Also - if you are a completionist or have completed the relevant quests - I think they're setting up pretty well for a repeat of the past with you essentially being Talos reborn.

That would be hilarious... only if you've reached a level of damage vs an archer. or maybe on your first visit to a city before you can even continue the main story. Courier appears saying "You look like you've taken an Arrow to the knee!" I was Dragonborn once y'know... before I took an arrow to the knee... shut up Steve, you were never shot in the knee!

A quick Forum search will pull up a lot of other topics requesting a port. Unfortunately Arcoolka has moved on

I'd like to draw attention to a few pages I've found re Dragon Allies http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Atlas_of_Dragons http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Nafaalilargus I don't see a particular lust for power, more Greed. Still, it could be a useful little addition that perhaps Esbern pulls out
-
In case nobody has read this I thought the Red Dragon section provided a very interesting read re the Dragon Allies and could be placed somewhere in a book if it's not found already http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon

Have you tried the Master Lighting Spell? It's awesome. The first time I used it I'm pretty sure that's what I said. I think spells would be the best bet for it though as opposed to shouts. Someone would need to make whole new animations and textures and such for it to look really good though

By Amulets do you mean things like Amulet of Talos? Or just general neck wear?

I don't like the idea of removing the innkeeper from the Sleeping Giant but he could certainly be used in quests... As for Malborn he may have died so unless we made him essential and people reverted to him having not died I'd say no. He's in the New Gnisis Cornerclub in Windhelm if he lives and has a DB quest attached to him. Again, as long as members of Guilds don't actually do anything then I personally wouldn't object to using them too much but they are still a part of filling out that particular Guild

Great find with Fultheim, I'm just doing some rescripting over the next couple of days for the different roles. If anyone finds anymore characters like this in-game who might suit a particular role please post or message me. The Roles are: Smith Quartermaster Prior/Loremaster (One of the Talos Priests within the cities) Veteran (Fultheim Nightingale Inn is a cabdidate) Alchemist Sharpshooter (Angi southeast of Falkreath is a candidate) Wizard Thief Jibstaman said it best

Maybe that could be part of the Dragon Ally quest? Or either quest really. With the Dragon Ally quest, part of convincing them would be convincing them to change the oath, seeing as it's been a bit lost and all. with the Dragon Kill quest we could write another oath and Blades are sworn in using either, depending on your path
-
I do believe I've also asked about the oath a number of times. Nowhere can I find any written down script of an oath, just some vague "oh, the Blades say an oath and they're in." If anybody else has had any better success then please let one of us know so we can try and sort something out to do with these quests. I've got more time to work on scripts and things for recruitable NPCs as well if anybody would like to post or PM me any suggestions and I can either integrate them into what I already have or write the script for your idea if I haven't already come up with something I'm happy with.

The Tsaesci fought with daikatana blades, and wore dragonscale armor. The Tsaesci army gear became the source of most of the traditional dress and banners of the Blades. The Tsaesci also apparently had tamed, and perhaps even rode, the Akaviri dragons in battle. The red dragon was eventually adopted as the main symbol of the Imperial Septim Dynasty. Of particular note is the fact that Reman I was the Emperor who instituted the tradition of lighting the dragonfires, and Reman was ruling Cyrodiil at the time of the Tsaesci invasion. How's that for a piece of lost history you could hit Delphine with! http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Tsaesci

"We needed his help. Now we don't." Convince Delphine that we still need his help! It's so obvious, especially with the added threat of the Thalmor. Can anyone actually find the oath that the Blades used to take?
-
I think dialogue options with Delphine and Esbern that cause them to change their ways rather than trying to do it as the player character would be far better. The Dragonborn should not be the Grandmaster, he is the one they serve, not their leader. It might be nice to have a new Grandmaster but we can essentially do what we want now with Delphine and Esbern in terms of how they might make new decisions. EDIT: and in such a way I am very much in agreement with JibstaMan

@ Kohdi, Karthspire was my initial suggestion for expansion as I thought it could be used as a front for the Blades in the form of a small town. With the Forsworn cleared away (we'd have to stop them respawning of course) anyone can now explore the caves and potentially find SHT so a town hiding the cave would be perfect. If this isn't the way forward then I also suggested using the cave system just before SHT which would again be pretty practical. I'm less up for the actual expansion of the temple itself either up or down although small renovations/expansions might be pretty easy and maybe one or two "hidden" areas as well. I would much prefer the work done on the temple to be structural and superficial maintenance and repair as opposed to let's see how much we can cram in.

@ Aredel and Draco - I have posted such musings on The Falen Greybeards discussion but I wanted to finish my work on the script here before thinking too much on how a collaboration might work although I did outline the basics on said post.

Not sure why but I had a thought about this particular mod idea. The Blades, once the Empires most Elite forces, have been crippled by the Aldmeri Dominion and now only a few remain. Those that are left have found the next Dovahkiin, Dragonborn, and look to return to their role as Dragon hunters. But all is not well and the Aldmeri Dominion still lurk on the horizon waiting to topple a weakened Empire and claim all of Tamriel for themselves. New alliances must be made at the cost of sacrificing the ideals they have sworn to uphold. I think this would help this mod fit in nicely with both Improving the Blades and Dragon Riders of Skyrim though they may have to be three seperate, compatible projects. EDIT: To clarify, the Blades would realise they are too few to hunt Dragons effectively and also the larger threat of the Aldmeri Dominion

I've never had the problem you seem to be experiencing. If I want to equip a new spell, redardless of whether I've already been dual wielding or using a weapon, I can simply go to the magic menu and use either M1 or M2 to equip it to one of my hands. The Wikia is normallypretty good with finding bugs yet what you describe isn't there.

Can the Wizard and/or Thief/Spy/Assassin also hold roles in Alchemy? For example, the Wizard makes beneficial potions available while the other makes poisons and harmfulpotions available? Scratch that, I'm going to edit the quest progress. The only problem I forsee is too many of these profession NPCs but we can obviously revise what we need to. On Jauffre, if Alduin's Wall was known about but inaccessible then couldn't he still have gone there having predicted the inhevitable return of a Dragonborn who would unlock Sky Haven temple so he just went there to wait? That would place his Ghost in the caves or just outside the entrance which is still a viable place for him to have been.

The Master Level AOE Frost and Fire spells in Skyrim are all well and good but I feel they lack something. If you've played Fable: The Lost Chapters then you'll remember the "Divine Fury" and "Infernal Wrath" spells. How awesome were they? How awesome would they be in Skyrim? The current Master Level Spells are ok but they take far too long to charge for a relatively low effect. The only one I've ever really used is the Lightning Storm as it is a continuous cast spell with mana drain and high damage rather than just high damage, high mana, single cast. The Divine Fury, Infernal Wrath and Frost equivalent spells could have the same or similar charge time as the current master level spells and all be continuous cast with high damage and mana drain similar to Lightning Storm. These would be very effective spells in tight situations with lots of enemies. Another possible spell would be the Physical Shield spell and could be an instant cast spell that makes enemies damage your mana instead of your health for a short time or until your mana reaches zero. If there's any modders out there who could give it a go, I would imagine it would have to wait till the creation kit came out, then please get back. Anyone who is unfarmiliar with the spells then here is a link to Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath. Basically picture charging a large circle of power followed by anything within that circle being stunned and consumed by a column of Fire, Ice or Lighting.

This maybe getting a little complicated and possibly be a bit further down the road but if we have different options for recruits how plausible would it be to have recruit perks? With the Smith, for example, instead of having exactly the same forge and a different NPC what if there was some benefit each recruit brought. One might have a smelter while the others don't. Personally I was thinking more along the lines of with recruit 1) you have to buy the forge through dialogue, recruit 2) can add the Dragonbane enchantment to any weapon and recruit 3) makes already improved armour. Again, I don't even know if this is possible but would give more of a reward for taking on the more difficult recruitment quests
