  1. well if ya still need someone to test, let me know :D
  2. well there's several ghoulification mods, so the exact name would help. however one thing that should be considered for all of them: i assume you used showracemenu and switched back to human, did you save the game in a location that is unique to the mod ? (room/area thats added by the mod), thats pretty much the only thing i can think of right now.
  3. and as I predicted in my previous post, the server problem has been fixed by teknogods. The fix being "TeknoMW2 1.0 - Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Loader" (this could actually get away with not being considered copyright poo, as it does not actually modify original game content), and it requires a Steam acc. to play online (but as i predicted as well, you simply execute an additional exe from the game folder in which you add the IP of the server you wanna use). so if you use it, my advise would be to not use your real Steam acc. as there's a good chance that acc. will be blacklisted eventually but at least that issue is somewhat solved.
  4. its not like there won't be patches that fix the problems (and I'm not assuming that these will be official patches) but these most likely will require some rather minimal changes. hell you can already fix that problem yourself. just add a line to your Hosts file, forcing an IP change for the server and redirecting it to the server you wanna play with (obviously this is a somewhat messy fix since it requires you to change that file every single time you switch servers and there prolly is some check in the mp.exe that verifys the authenticity of the server) but I'm sure in the next 2 weeks a patch will show up that fixes these 2 problems (setting max players back to 32 (though this most likely will require a direct modification of the "iw4mp.exe" therefore causing problems with playing on the official server) but playing on private servers with a max of 16 players shouldn't be to much of a problem.
  5. there is a kinda option, but prepare for massive butthurt on GECKs part (and you will need at least 6 GB of free available RAM !!!!!!) what you have to do is pretty much the following: duplicate the entire wasteland (this takes massive RAM and takes quite some time (srsly. it uses around 6-7 GB) and if you don't have the RAM that will result in instant crash) once you completed that (SAVE (this will also take a couple minutes) !!!!), go into the new worldspace and load up several cells at once sort the content by type (that way you can remove all the buildings and markers etc. without having to check if you delete trees or rocks etc.) and save in intervals. for this process you can expect several hours (mainly because GECK will crash multiple times during the procedure and you will have to start from your last save over and over again) my advise would be: just create a new worldspace from scrap, thats already buggy enough and it sure takes some time to put stuff in there even if its a "small" worldspace, the wasteland is massive, what do you plan on doing with that ? remove all buildings and create the great nothing (so basically a real wasteland) ? if you wanna start small, but don't wanna work from scratch, use the same procedure from above but instead of doing it to the wasteland do it to one of the areas from the DLC's (like the broken steel military thingy, that got a reasonable size)
  6. you may wanna have a look at this one though (given its a bit outdated since the latest ATI card listed is the 4870X2) but it shows which cards work together (especially the newer ones don't require to be exactly the same model (though it is advised) http://ati.amd.com/technology/crossfire/charts.html
  7. well I wanted the game so I bought it and yes it has flaws, but its still an okay game, i payed 50 bucks for Sector 8 and that game is so bad I literally threw the hole damn thing in the garbage after i played it for 3 days (finished single player and spend some time in MP). though I do not say piracy is good, I'm somewhat fond of it (and no don't get this wrong now) I don't download the games, I go to a store and buy them (or have them delivered) but I do enjoy no-cd cracks, cause I hate games that require me to put a damn disc in the drive just to play it and yes DRM is a waste of time, seeing as theres illegal copies of every single game in existance usually even on the same day as the release theres no point for the companys to spend millions on developing these protections just to screw up installs, disc reads etc. when crackers brake it within hours. Though its gotten better if some still remember "LaserLock" half the time your drive couldn't even read the damn CD. and towards MW2, the graphics are nice (though the animations are rather bad, it all feels really unrealistic, especially the cutscenes) and whats with that joke about "this game contains missions that are offensive, do you wanna skip them?" and you even have to confirm twice that you won't get offended (its an 18+ game if you get offended by FPS don't buy em and apperantly they don't consider the ability to shoot civilians and children to be offensive), the gameplay is a bit easy and the hard modes are maybe medium, but you don't play MW2 single player now do you ? its mainly a multiplayer game and so the dificulty pretty much only depends on how good the other players are. its not a groundbreaking game and its prolly not the stuff off legends but its an enjoyable game. so unless your inner gamer has to go all butthurt over the place its a good game and so what if they charge a whole 10 bucks !! more than all the other newly released games cost ? big what. too expensive for you ? wait till it gets cheaper or play something else.
  8. usually the first piece you put is messed up in its dimensions (cause it can't snap to a grid, since there isn't one defined yet) a nice work around: either just put the first piece and then use CTRL+D to duplicate it (this piece will align to the correct grid) and delete the first piece and work from there. or which personally i find much nicer in dealing with, is place the first piece and assign its values by hand (just double click it and go tothe 3D data tab) there just enter a value you can remember easily and type fast (like 32000 just make sure its dividable by the regular grid sizes (32,64,128) personally since I'm lazy, I usually just go with 0,0,0 for X,Y,Z on the first piece cause that way I don't even have to think about the new pieces position cause i know its parameters (like if its a 64 units piece, and you want it to be left from the first piece just type -64 for X (or 64 if you want it to the right). I have no idea why the GECK starts with values in the 33.000 there's no point to it, the only place where values are important is in the worldspace area, but since I assume you work indoors, theres no water required so you can pick any values you please. so don't make it harder on yourself by workin with pieces that use values like: 33957.65 (thats horrible to type, at least shape it to something clean (like 34000)) that way it also becomes much easier when you drag and drop a new piece in (cause you don't have to Z+mouse it all over the place, you can just type 32000 in the 3D data tab and its right on the spot) and it makes connecting different grid pieces a lot easier (like if you use one that snaps to 64 and one that snaps to 128, no need to fumble it into place, just type the values that way the pieces are always connected cause you clearly put them in place and not -0.1 units off)
  9. if its at least an HD ready TV (preferably though it should be a 480p or 1080p too really enjoy HD gaming) with HDMI there's no problem at all. nearly every somewhat new graphic card comes with a HDMI port (hell my onboard card has a HDMI port and fully supports HD) however if you wanna play on that TV with some quality (you will need a resolution of around 1920* (or it will look horribly stretched)) so you do require a good graphics card. however if you don't wanna spend several hundret bucks on a card, go with something like an HD4870, that one (at least for me and i haven't heard complains) works nicely with LCD flats (though I'm only using a 40" wide flat) and beamer (3.2x1.8 meter (thats 16:9)) (video projector, apperantly americans aren't used to that word) and the 4870 works great even on max. settings for every game i tested it on (in the highest possible resolution)
  10. srsly win7 is pretty sweet. boots in 7 seconds and you can actively assign prioritys to running processes (in case you run a lot of background stuff, just start the game, tab out task manager and assign a higher priority to the game)
  11. well a few random ideas for the good, bad, ugly :D option 1: you don't get to pic your character at all (you may choose your sex but thats it) after all, we don't choose when we're born what we look like and just go with a random shot. and that results in you either being considered good looking, ugly or normal. for an somewhat acceptable amount of scriptwork, one could make the only check criteria the facial symmetry and depending on how much that differs assign the perk (this most likely will not result in an accurate assumption but it should be good enough for picking a perk) option 2: just let the player decide (in that case it wouldn't matter how the character looks, could be pretty and still pick the ugly perk) reward for being pretty: speech challanges are 1 level easier (ignoring very easy and removing very hard), you gain 10 points for barter and get a "good lookin perk" for free, but you loose 2 Intelligence cause people assume you're not a smart one reward for being ugly: you gain +2 Intelligence (cause nobody wanted to play with you and you read a lot of books in the vault ;) ) downside: speech challenges are 1 level raised (ignoring very hard and removing very easy from the game) your max. barter skill can be 75 and you can't pick the "good lookin perks" (lady killer etc.) one could even go further and add a gender component, female players get a plus 1 to charisma and 10 points in speech male players get plus 1 in strength and 10 points for small guns intelligence: below <3 speech challenges get set to very hard if you talk to a scientist, but you get +25 in unarmed and melee (cause you do know how to club things :D ) and for a real hard combo speech skill gets limited to 75 (so there will be challenges you can't win unless you're pretty ;) )
  12. the choice is pretty obvious isn't it ? if you use more than 3 GB of ram use a 64bit OS or theres no point in having more RAM (and given that most games require 4 GB or more for higher settings, theres no way to avoid 64bit OS) I'm using XP x64 for years and the only problem i ever had hardware wise was an really old webcam which was awful anyway so i replaced it. (I'm also using Windows7 ultimate x64 (as dualboot) and that only had 1 problem (scanner driver) however that problem was fixed when the retail was released and canon provided a driver) and the only hardware requirement for 64bit OS is the CPU and if your CPU can run Fallout3, Stalker etc. it will def. support 64bit (i don't think there has been a CPU since 2000 that doesn't support 64bit OS) so yeah, some really old hardware may not work anymore (and thats a big if, most hardware can be forced to use old 32bit driver (vista driver work quite well)) but a 64bit OS is never a bad choice (its kinda amazing that 32bit OS still exist, since most people use around 4 GB of Ram or more (and real gamer def. do)) so def. try a 64bit OS, you will like it (but go with Win7 it ads more backwards compatability for older hardware and it actually uses less RAM than XP)
  13. why not just go with the MS autoinstaller ? it keeps your DX version to the latest thats out and supported by the OS (if you use XP thats gonna be DX9.0c + security updates) there is an inofficial DX10 for XP but its god awful, causes horrible bugs and freezes etc. also the DX installer will not install a DX version that your graphic card can't use (was a pain to install dx11 on win7 cause of my onboard graphic chip which doesn't support it (the "real" card does).
  14. glad you fixed it, is quite the annoyance that it never works (cause i personally find it messy to have to use a script just to work a condition) this for the dr. who mod ?
  15. think i found your problem :D getitemcount never works for me (well nearly never, only time it worked was when i counted an item that was part of Fallout.esm).
