  1. Ok, this is a complex idea that I believe would be simple to pull off. If anyone has played fable or fable II, you should know that when you buy a house, you have the option of actually living in the house yourself, or you can put it up for rent, giving it to another random npc and charging them a set amount of gold. There's usually a sign or something on the outside of the house that lets you change you mind so that you can move in/rent out, and change the rent price.

So, what I have in mind is that someone can make a relatively simple retex of the gray fox wanted poster with just random writing on it and maybe something like Deed of Sale on the top in visible print that can be activated at every owned house (will be added upon purchase, via altering the purchase script for each house, just labeled as initially disabled) these will allow you to move in or rent out the houses. Move in will function as the house normally does in game. Rent out, however, will spawn an NPC (One created for each house, initially disabled, scripting will move ownership to them) who will live there and pay you rent. The rent will be dependant on the house value, rather than being set by the player as this is rather difficult to do and this way works better. Scripting will determine how much the house is worth in rent, adding more furniture will add to the rent price, meaning more coins in your pocket. The money will be added daily straight to the players inventory with a message that says that todays rent has been collected. The rent can also be weekly, but I prefer the mod to keep it daily to be more like fable. The move in/rent out function should be toggle-friendly so that you can move in later if you want, disabling the NPC again and setting the ownership back to you and vice-versa.

The scripting should be fairly easy, a little more intermediate, but very much doable without any OBSE needed as far as I can tell. I would do this myself, but I've got enough unfinished mods to work on at the moment. Maybe eventually there could even be a similar mod for owning the businesses in Cyrodiil. But this is a good step for right now.

  2. Alas! I have figured out why there were mipmaps in my textures, I shall attempt to make these once again. All it was was just a stupid little checkbox that said generate mipmaps and all hopes of texturing anything was dashed. now it's like a big door is open and I can make colorful little bottles. oh happy day.
  3. ah, very thank you comrades. Hopefully I can poke a little idea into someones head so that there can be a new improved valenwood, and in english. Hopefully one day, there will be enough mods to span all Tamriel. But for now I'll be happy with a good Valenwood mod. Yeah, so someone make a good Valenwood mod. Get on it, we don't have all day. The Bosmer need somewhere to live and can't have ya stand idly at the CS making more nudie meshes lol
  4. I like all these mods people keep making for extended Tamriel, like elswyr and vvardenfal. I just wish someone would make one for Valenwood. The wood elves have always been my favorite race in the elder scrolls series and I would love to go to their home province. I'm not a very good modder in the sense that i could never make something this large-scale. Not that any single person could make something as large as an entire province, I just have zero texure and meshing experience.
  5. yes i agree you should make a new dagger. i was just gonna use mehrunes razor and give it a different name lol. something with a gem on it somewhere for a soul to be inside. maybe you can even have the dagger powered by Uriel or Martin septims soul. But I'm thinking a soul of someone pure, that should be what overpowers Tharn
  6. or even the blade of woe. I'm sure the BOW has killed a few more people since it's been stuck in your inventory since the beginning of the db.

And you just gave me an idea. One of the dates should be a big elegant party where you and cutter dress up nice and secretly kill everyone off like summitmist. =] now that's a cutter date.

  7. ok, so let me alter my idea a bit. So you are told you need a Battlemage's heart from square one and you know you'll need a magic dagger. You aren't told who's heart until the last minute basically. Somehow you get the dagger infused with epic magekilling power. Then Ealdor mentions, "Ok now that you are going to get the dagger, you killed Ocato..." you say, "What?! Kill the only person who can possibly pull the Empire back together?!" Ealdor, "Did I stutter? You killed Ocato. Didn't I mention that? Maybe not, but go now. Toddle off. Besides, there was something strange about him anyways." You then go to the Imperial Palace and upon entering, and approaching the council chamber, you suddenly feel like you are pulled away to somewhere else, but when you open your eyes, you're standing right where you just were... but something doesn't quite seem the same. Again the skeleton legion troops and you enter the council chamber and see Ocato (This will just be a copy of Ocato, so that nothing happens to the original) As you plunge your knife into him, he falls to the ground... then his body disappears. As you look around puzzled, a shadowy figure steps forward. It's Tharn, he does his speech and teleports up then you fight all the undead watch soldiers and run up to fight him. he gets stabbed and dies and turns into a burnt corpse and you take the heart and get teleported back to the council chamber and there's Ocato standing there like a moron as if nothing happened. you ignore him and take the heart to Ealdor and it continues from there.
  8. ugh, sorry man. my tools are not doin stuff right. The icons won't show up because for some reason they have 7 mipmaps and I have no idea how to get rid of them. plus the textures i made for the bottles aren't applying to them and they keep showing up as normal pink potions. I'll just upload the PNG files I made of the icons and bottles and hopefully someone who has better experience with meshing and texturing can throw them together. :verymad: and now i'm having issues uploading those. god i hate technology on occasion
  9. lol so are you suggesting he tell his story after he's dead? He's a villain, they like to monologue. Their own voice is prolly their favorite thing to hear. Plus, they aren't implying their death, their implying YOUR death. And I do see a little of what you're saying about Tharns magic. True, the Emperor is powerful, but let's keep in mnd, he's had this kinda thing happen before, and that was when he was fairly young. He's a lot older and world-weary now (well actually he's dead, but) so he's still pretty suceptible to a mage's illusions. Also, Traven just doesn't seem to be a super-mage. He's no Gandalf by any means, he couldn't even see that billions of Necromancers were attacking the guild and helping Mannimarco to power. So I doubt he could see through any illusions a powerful battlemage aided by a daedric prince could cast. and I agree that it shouldn't be known quite yet that Ocato is possesed by Tharn. Perhaps there should be a quest, either in favor of another daedric prince or a different entity entirely, to get this "Veil-Breaking Sight" and the magical dagger. Maybe even Mehrunes Dagon himself could be lying dormant beyond the reaches of Oblivion and ask for vengeance against Ocato/Tharn. But that is blowing it pretty far out there.

About the Epic-ness, This is meant to be an EXTREMELY epic quest. We're talking about bringing a Daedric Prince to power, it doesn't happen every day. in fact, it really hasn't ever happened. And mind you, this IS taking place after the main quest, so there is no Level 5 character about it, you will have some power at your disposal, rest assured. Tharn is probably one of the least of your worries once you meet up and try to fight against Azura. Azura is a GOD, not a mere sorcerer. There is no Avatar of Akatosh to save you in that fight, it will be intense.

About Ocato. Ocato really won't change during the course of this. Ocato is Ocato, but Tharn is working his strings. Behind the illusion, Tharn is very much a physical entity, Mehrunes made that possible. However, he is limited to his illusion. He stays in the palace because even a daedric prince can't bring a battlemage of Tharn's caliber back to full power, but they can give him life and daedric magic. the heart you will be getting is Tharn's, not Ocato's. Ocato is just an anchor to fit tharn into the story. Otherwise there wouldn't be anything believeable to tie Tharn into the story with. By this point in the story your character should be used to saving Tamriel from sure destruction. I mean during the course of this quest, I'm sure Tamriel will be on the verge of disappearing off the face of nirn more than once. The purpose is to keep the player constantly intrigued, the quest really can't settle down or you'll get bored with it and poor Ealdor will have to wait for a really long time to be a god. (lol impatient time god)

But I see your need for the "Low-points" and they are easily implemented with quests for smaller items that help to get to bigger tasks, like the dagger and scroll leading to Tharn. There's plenty of opportunity for low points like these so you can rest easy. The trick is just making them flow easily with the story.

  10. lol, but khajiit are too fuzzy to look shady. they look like stuffed animals. and argonians remind me of Ken Do-zin from the drunken argonian, so I can't take them seriously. And Orcs lose all means of intimidation from the owner of southern books. But then you look at Joe Brown from TDA and he is hardcore. hence the skooma dealer who is shady. maybe shady isn't the word. But you get the idea. Redguards are probably the most intimidating race in Oblivion. besides, racism is directed at one race, and I hate everyone equally  lol
  11. Adoring fan cannon. mounted conveniently atop dive rock. fire away.

Butch from FO3 vs. Adoring fan. Both annoying. Both voiced by same person. Both gonna die.

pit of angry wolves. like the black pit from 300, but with angry wolves.

the raccoon from family guy that pops out of random places and claws peoples faces.

  12. or I'll just make you the ring. rings are fun. Just tell me which ring in game you want it to look like. i.e. Namira's ring, Weatherward circlet, ring of Khajiiti, Indarys signet, or just a basic enchanted ring. just go to the UESPWiki, I think they have lists of all the rings, along with pictures. I'll give it a fortify magicka 10000 and a restore magicka 10000. all of your magicka woes vanish. If you want I can also give you the book I made that raises all of your magic related skills to 100 too.
  13. hm. well, if i could figure texturing, i could make colored potion bottles (blue bottle, water. white bottle, milk, etc) but I ca definately change the icon to a blue bottle and a white bottle. I could make Orange juice, Grape juice, Milk, Water, soda which is just a beer bottle. etc. just list what you want and i'll take a crack at it
