  1. Still no way to disable this damn pop up every time I launch the vortex? Redmod caused all sorts of issues for me before so I uninstalled in and not a single mod I have (122) need it so please let us disable that it's mad it shows forever.
  2. It was indeed that. I manually installed it when Vortex had that update that changed the data folder location and broke some stuff, I never reinstalled it so guess that's why. Thank you for your help.
  3. I think you may be right Picky, This is what I have listed in extensions: Am I supposed to only have one?! haha
  4. Here is the folder it creates with new SFSE and Plugin mods (and likely other kinds) and it places .esm files and SFSE folders in here now.
  5. Sadly mods I have not installed or reinstalled since installing the Vortex Extension work ok but any mod I reinstall or install fresh (new) adds the folder when it isn't there by default. So reinstalling will break all my mods and it's a hell of a job going through 157 mods manually to remove a data folder. Really hoping to find a fix for this. It's actually not just plugin mods I found out it's all mods, SFSE mods install wrong too, every mod gets an extra data folder essentially. examples in terms of stuff I've installed since it started happening is in the screenshot. There is something making Vortex feel like all mods need a data folder adding. I dunno where I can tell it to stop doing this. I'll add more screenshots to show the issue I mean.
  6. Hi so since installing the Starfield Vortex Extension (so vortex would manage my plugins.txt file) I have an issue that whenever I download a plugins mod, vortex will add a data directory into the mod and place the plugin inside that, meaning once deployed the plugin is installed into this folder: "Starfield\Data\Data" which results in plugins not being detected because they need to be in the data folder not a subfolder of that directory. I don't know how to stop Vortex from adding this extra folder, I checked and it's not the mods themselves, they all are a zip with the .esm in it, Vortex itself is adding the extra Data folder, breaking installers. I cannot search for this issue because all results just talk about the documents\data directory fiasco from before and that's not my issue, I don't have that enabled in vortex so it's using my games data folder as intended. It only happened after installing the plugin so imagine it's a bug with that.
  7. Hey so I just came up with this rather great idea for a mod, if its possible atleast. Tying bounties to a ship rather than the player means that they can use another ship to travel around the systems they have bounties in, if there was a way to make ship scans only scan for a ship that is tied to a players bountry, but have people in person know you as they do now when you have a bounty with their faction, this would make it possible to travel but still dangerous on foot. Any ideas how this could be done?
  8. People have already done this so no need for me to, thank you to those modders!
  9. Still not able to play the game yet so cannot view files but as soon as I can I'll be looking for this s#*!. Cannot believe games in 2023 are still coming with this kind of filth forced on.
  10. Hey so the main thing that bothers me with Bethesda games (and Starfield based on footage) is the in your face HUD elements like hitmarkers, XP, enemy healthbars and the like, all these do for me is get in the way of the actual game, I want to see bullet impact effects and I don't care about how much a kill ups my XP. Nothing wrong if you do like all that but Bethesda never put in settings to disable any of that like most other games, so If that is the case for Starfield too, I'll be trawling through the files looking for these values to disable day 1. I also plan on doing a realistic bullet and projectile damage mod more long term, removing some of the RPG elements of the weapons to make them all viable like they would almost certainly be if it was real life. Let me know if you are interested, or if you have done similar mods for previous games and have any tips, they would be my first mods for a Bethesda game.
