  1. +1 for this. No combat style should feel like a straight out slugfest where you're only option defensively is to kill them faster than they can hit you. :P Parries would solve this problem nicely, really hoping to see something like this eventually.
  2. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2804 Try this mod out. Makes bound weapons far more powerful and useful up into the higher levels by adding two perk levels for Mystic Binding. Works wonderfully for my bound weapon-using Nightblade.
  3. +1 The vanilla hotkey system is so barebones, it certainly could use some improvement. It's currently really annoying playing a Spellsword or dual-wielder because you need to pause into the favorites menu constantly to get the combination you want quickly. And I agree with Scorpidius too, we could definitely use an Skyrim Enhanced Hotkeys.
  4. I'll add my voice to the bound dagger crowd, really awaiting that for my assassin. Dual-wielding bound swords is pretty awesome in itself for when I need to just straight up fight someone, but a bound dagger dual wielded with bound sword? Absoulutely perfect, one for assassination, the other to whack em if they see you or aren't quite dead yet.
  5. I downloaded A Duelists Glove by Sacred Legionary recently so that I could use it for my new character, a CE warrior. I went through the origin story, ostagar, and lothering waiting for the glove to show up in my inventory but it never did. It did, however, show up in the inventory of my other pre-exisiting characters, just not on any new ones. Tried many different ways to fix the problem after that, making clean saves and uninstalling and reinstalling the mod and whatnot, but all to no avail. Also tried to make something similar in the toolset myself but that also didn't work. I tried his other shield versions and that worked, and appeared in my characters inventory fine. I'm not certain why the one version works all the time but the other doesn't, but I'm at wits end as to what may solve this. Thinking of possibly reinstalling Dragon Age to see if that might help. Please help if you can! Leold
  6. Hello, Recently, and partly due to the great advance in oblivion mod making that is OBME, I've decided to try my hand at modding. I'm ok with the CS though I haven't tried using scripts yet, but I've begun adding a few new spells with the help of OBME. I created my own magic effect based off of the Damage Health effect, but I'm a bit stuck now. I wanted to simply change the coloration of the effect from red to blue, but its much more difficult than I'd anticipated. I read a few tutorials about nifskope, DDS converter, NIBLE, and some others but nothing seems to really cover changing the colors of spell effects, most are armor or objects being re-textured. When I open the destruction.nif file using nifskope, I don't see any color at all, just a vague outline of the effect uisng line segments. I'm wondering if I'm even in the right viewing window in nifskope because the tutorials show the full image shown and I'm only getting the mesh. I'm assuming that the lack of info on this topic might be because the spell effects were pretty difficult to change before OBME. If anyone can offer any advice on how this can be done, any tutorials that might better help me figure this out or if I'm even using nifskope correctly, please reply when you can. Thanks all Leold
  7. Hey all, first post I've made to the actual Nexus Forums, but I've been DLing plenty of excellent mods from here to enhance both my Oblivion and Fallout 3 games. Just wanna quickly thank all the modders on here for their amazing works that they've so graciously shared with the community. Anyways, I've been thinking on this idea for a while and think this would make an amazing mod if it could be realized. I played the Underdark mod released on TES Nexus(Fantastic mod btw) and was really interested it because added awesome new places, NPCs, and creatures based on the Forgotten Realms setting. Adding the illithids and the companion mindslayer Illi really topped it of nicely. I know illithids are the strongest psionic race and that these powers are pretty rare but I thought it would be cool if the player character could get some spells so they could roleplay as a psionicist. Psionics are basically an alternate form of magic that uses the powers of the mind instead of actual casting hand motions, spell components or memorization. They primarily depend on the intelligence of the individual and the willpower and can physically exhaust or even kill a user that continually uses their abilities without rest. However, psionic powers are limited to a degree in comparison to regular magic because they cannot emulate everything that normal spells can. Some notable disciplines(psionic abilities) include: -Telepathy -Psionic blasts of force like an illithid's mind blast or mind wave -Telekinesis -Mental domination -Becoming incorporeal -Moving through other dimensions -Excite latent energy in an object causing it to vibrate violently and eventually explode -Absorb many physical or magical hits and releasing that power all at one time These are just a few that I found on a wikia page here. Some additional ones could be some type of healing through meditation, creating weapons such as daggers or swords out of pure psionic energy, or increasing Int. or Will. through mental concentration or other abilities one would likely possess if they have access to these powers. Just adding these as spells would be great, but since they are inherently different from magicka, they might have their own system, perhaps draining an amount of fatigue from the user instead of using magicka until they pass out from exhaustion. For each time fatigue hits zero, Willpower or Intelligence may suffer damage for some time until the user has rested up or meditated to prevent overuse. A seperate system can also allow warrior type characters or thief type characters to become psychic warriors, soulknife assassins, or even monk warriors able to channel Ki. If anyone would like to use these ideas to make a mod, you're more than welcome to them. I know there are several good telekinesis mods such as Talkie's Telekinetic Mastery(very cool, check it out if interested) and some other overhauls but I believe this concept could be improved even further. I'm no modder myself, I just have a few companions I've made using CSR(also by the awesome Talkie) and I doubt they're good enough to release on Nexus, but if someone would like to give this idea a shot, feel free to. Anyhow, thanks for reading and if you're interested in modding it that'd be awesome. Leold
