Thank you!
After popping it open in CK, I can't seem to find the script in the manager. Is there another way I need to go about pulling it up?

It's been quite a while since I've played around in the Creation Kit and in trying to mess around with the speedmult value, it appears that it still has an issue functioning properly (or perhaps I'm not implementing it properly).
I'd like to create a frost staff with a conical range that slows actors caught in the cone, so I've set the attributes as seen in the included screens. I'm aware of a potential workaround involving changing the actors weight to get the speedmult change to work, is this still the way to get this to work (having a script add a low weight item to their inventory is one method I've seen)? Is there a better way to proc a slow effect that I may not be aware of?
Any assistance would be much appreciated!

I've been with the Nexus for a couple of years now and even though I don't use it as much, I always delightfully suggest people to use it if they want to get into modding! :D
Kids and houses make it hard to game like I used to. Long live the Nexus!

Thanks! I'll give that a try and let you know the results.
Oddly this is the load order that I get from LOOT... -
I'm trying to get back into modding FO3, but it's been a while and I'm not quite sure of what issues I had before I quit playing. One persistent issue that makes it difficult to advance my character is that enemies have infighting and wind up dead by the time I reach them, leaving me with about one enemy to get XP from instead of 3+ enemies. I would very much appreciate any advice anyone can give me on what to do. I've tried removing mods that modify enemy behavior, damage, and factions with no success. The only thing that worked was disabling all mods and enabling ones that I thought caused the problem, but none of them ended up being the issue.

How did you manage to run Reproccer as an Admin?

I recently decided to pick back up the tedious task of modding the game to my exact preferences and had the mods down that I wanted. After literally hours of installing and properly setting things up to play again, I made a test character to make sure that the game would run. Game runs fine, make a couple more test characters to check for racial issues, no problem. Later, I try loading the game up with the same exact mods and the game crashes either immediately after loadup or during the new character creation process.

I load my bashed patch after everything and use reproccer, which is loaded the very last.
Any help would be much appreciated. I miss Skyrim. -
I've pondered how difficult it must be to maintain the site for you and your fellow programmers. I explained to my brother that the premium price is worth it to simply keep the site going, beyond it being for each Nexus and it being "lifetime". It won't last a lifetime if you have to shut the sites down early.
Beth, probably someone in their sales team, would be wise to toss you a couple of bucks.
Y'all are doing an excellent job.

Well this is silly... I watched a Youtube video that showed where the perk selection in under the Actor category in the object window, lol. That's what I was looking for I guess. Thanks anyways everybody!
-
I see how to select the next perk, but how does one go about creating the next perk without putting it in the perk tree? Is there a list of perks that you can modify separate from viewing the trees?
-
How would one go about adding a new tier to a perk? To clarify, I mean like how the first perk in the blocking tree can be selected up to five times. I'd like to add a tier or two to Dark Souls and maybe some other perks.
-
Well, after messing around a little bit, I've noticed that it's only really bad in snowy regions. Guess I'll look into turning off such weather effects.
-
Ah, so it may just be a recent update that making it stutter?
-
I've found the trick is after tabbing out the first time, tab in once, move the mouse in the middle of the screen until it disappears, then tab back to the game. Works for me.
-
I had the same problem. I've been modding/trying to fix up my game folders as of late so I haven't noticed whether or not that got fixed. Kind of sucked because I had made a new character that couldn't take on bandit chiefs and whatnot because of the bug...
-
So I've had Skyrim installed for about a week and as I add mods, it has started running slower as expected. I realized eventually that it's a little too slow. I've got a gtx 660 gpu, i7 cpu, and 8 gigs of ram on Windows 7. I did install it outside of the normal program files folder and I've noticed that it's only running as a 32 bit process. Is there a way to remedy this other than reinstalling it in the normal programs folder?
-
I'll have to be proactive in keeping the updates in line I guess. I'm well aware of the heating issues (which seems to be common in gaming laptops), so there are a few external fans I've been looking at in mind for purchase.
Thanks for the help and happy gaming/modding everyone!
-
Well I purchased a retail copy of the game after I got off work today, so now I question how to keep it from eating my bandwidth and am still curious about which installer program to use. I loved Wrye Bash. I started off using whatever the other one was because it had a lower learning curve, but I soon learned after getting over the hump that Wrye Bash was far more powerful. If NMM has more substantial tools (for merging, id editing, and whatnot) then I'll stick with it. It sounds like I should just try each.
As far as keeping my interwebz safe, are the updates tied directly to Steam or is there a separate auto update program? As long as I can mod Skyrim like I did Oblivion, I'll be happy. I frequently read about what the updates alter on the uesp (even though I didn't have to PC version... living out in the middle of nowhere does that to ya), so if I can choose when it updates, that'd be acceptable.
-
I'll probably let it update while I'm at work.<br>I was wondering which method of mod installation I should use. I've read that the NMM has stability issues (and I'm not too keen on things that auto update). I used Wrye Bash for Oblivion. Is it compatible with Skyrim now?
I'm sure that my new machine can handle all the fine bits of Skyrim. I got the MSI GE60 42US with an i7 (2.3 ghz) and GTX 660M gpu. This will be my first quality machine and I am sooooo excited. XD
I'll probably spend hours at McDonalds downloading stuff ( as well as purchasing the only I ever get there, which is coffee, lol). I was the "mod more than I play" kind of person with Oblivion.

Thanks xlcr, the second link answered all of my software queries. As far as installing it goes, I rely on Wifi services from fast food joints due to my internet being satellite based. That is unless my buddy gets a day off of work and I head to his place...
Anyways, thanks again!

My new laptop should be arriving in the mail tomorrow and I got to thinking about which version of Skyrim I should purchase.
Are there any downsides to buying it in one format over the other (as in software issues)? Oblivion had issues with modding and Steam, which I never had to deal with and I'd like to keep it that way with Skyrim.

Bench reviews that I've seen show that everything beyond the 650 has pretty decent power, but the 580 would still be the better buy.
-
Well it appears that the site I was going to order from doesn't accept my zip code as an acceptable area to deliver to (which is total bs....). Good thing I checked now rather than waiting a few weeks.
I may just browse around Newegg more unless someone has another site to suggest.
Update: Newegg has added some of the Steel Series to their repertoire and one is close enough to the one I was going to get. I'm still open to suggestions or maybe just some conversation about buying tips and whatnot.
Here's the one I found- 3rd Gen i7 GT650M Steel Series KB Slim Design
More Exciting Update: The laptop I was previously looking at will indeed ship here, my buddy just has wonky internet I guess (from his place, the site said it couldn't ship here...).
Not sure if I posted it before- MSI GE60 0NC-042US 15.6" SteelSeries Gaming Notebook
It still has Ivy Bridge, but the gpu is the 660 instead of the 650 (I compared the two and the 660 is a significant upgrade).
-
From a lot of reviews I've read, I'd be most satisfied with the 580 at least. The laptop I'm looking at has the 660 I'll probably just have to learn the ins and outs of buying old versus new now that I have the money.
Is there anything unique about the Ivy Bridge processor that it has?

Ah, I see. May just have to do that for now.
Thanks again!
