  1. hey AltreU...did ya sniff the manual?

That new game smell, baby! The manual, the art book, and the guide (yes, I got the guide, I like statistics).

I ran away from a bunch of fireball tossing witches earlier. Got the first Ethereal power word, now I just need to find a dragon....

  2. So, I was the 6th person in line, behind my brother, last night and a wonderful night it was. The other people in line were awesome and we all goofed around in line until the time came to get our copies and part ways. I did end up walking out with my CE box victorious and got a medium enthusiastic roar from the rest of the crowd. The game itself-everything I asked for. I love my Nord assassin.
  3. There is a patch currently in waiting that may fix such a bug. Typically, when you summoned a creature in the previous games, it spawned in a random location by your side. In Skyrim, I think summoning works by targeting an area near by (say right in front of you on the ground), then casting the spell. It does sound like what happened to you was a bug.
  4. @Jim-I thought the same about the dogtag thing at first, but my brother said you pick the dogtags up by simply walking over them. So it's not as teamwork/strategy oriented as it sounds.

That reminds me that I need to finish downloading AVA. You know, something to play when I decide to take a break from Skyrim (it is a good game, actually).

  5. If it is real, the "old friend" he's referring to might not be your character.

@Scorch-Your character literally became Sheogorath in the Shivering Isles. If this pic is real, then this is the result of your character finally morphing into Sheogorath, as was supposed to happen.

  6. I went with my brother and a friend to the midnight release of MW3, waited in line with all sorts of strange people that acted like idiots (literally jumping around in their hoodies while shouting, "What up, brah!?" at each other), stepped out of line when we got to the door (I didn't/don't plan on using my money for it...), then went home when they came out with their copies. The next day, my brother had beaten the game. He decided to go to our friend's place to try the online. He came back and said he wants his money back.

Funniest part is that he asked me if I wanted to split the cost of the game with him.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/no.gif

  7. They're probably talking about the "final receipt", just get it sometime before you pick up your copy and have it present when you pick it up. They might be doing some other form of validation now, though.
  8. I'm sure Sheogorath wasn't bound to the Shivering Isles. He probably just preferred to stay in his domain during the game, so it'd make sense after the Champion had a complete transformation into him that he'd still be in Tamriel regaining his powers or doing silly stuff. Either way, I look forward to validating this with my guide book.
  9. Yes, yes, that would do fine!http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/dance.gif

I wonder if anyone will actually yell dragon shouts in line. As exciting a prospect as it is, I really hope that nothing that thrilling happens. It might impede on me getting my game home.

  10. It's good to see that the boards are still populated, seeing as a good few people predicted otherwise. I wouldn't have much else to do if not.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/laugh.gif

I don't know if I should walk out of the store with my CE box like I've achieved great victory or if we should rush out like I'm carrying an important package that will save mankind.

  11. I dare anyone to make a Pure Thief....oh wait....what will you attack with?

By definition, a thief technically doesn't attack anyone. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif

... buuuuut I guess you can just attack with daggers if you *really* want to play as a thief. Although I imagine most of the time you'd be avoiding combat anyway.

Dagger is a one-handed trait which belongs to warriors so you might want to stick with what you first said.

It's really rogues and bandits that use violence while they steal/take stuff, thieves are typically harmless. I think the Warrior, Wizard, and Thief archetypes are best thought of as umbrellas that various aspects of your characters fall under, rather than trees that you should pick if you're playing a specific archetype.

I agree, but I think it's weird that both Warrior and Mage can be by themselves but the Thief has to take from other trees to be able to play Skyrim.

Yeah. Regardless of whether or not I like it, I'm playing on the PS3, so I'd make myself like it even if I didn't.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif
