  1. I actually find that a slight amount of complexity in the game makes you feel more involved with your character. This isn't them most appropriate example but final fnatasy 8 really got to me with the their stat system. I could get slightly frustrating having to apply magics to certain skills to improve them but in general it worked really well for me. It allowed the opportunity to have each character good at one certain thing, so there was a lot of think work involved which made you proud when you could smash in an enemy in one or two hits. Sometimes you would fail miserably but then you would just be more determined to beat your enemy. It kinda showed that you don't need boatloads of perks or stats but just a good system. What I find with the skyrim perk system is that I couldn't care less about anything other than my two weapon and one armor perk trees. I actually liked that in oblivion that you were forced to make a descision without fully understanding the implications because it kept the game fresh, having to give up one thing to gain another.
  2. I agree about the cities, they are so small and there are barely any people around, it feels like all of skyrim is one little neighbourhood.
  3. No promblem :) I wish it was a mod, it looks awesome.
  4. This is probably the only part I really agree with you, and even then it's not up to us to determine what the modder does to his mod. You are not the modders target audience, the target audience is whoever he wants it to be, and if he wants to give his mod to all the people that think bethesda screwed up so be it. Secondly the anger of bethesda having done things wrong has sometimes fuelled me to get so much into modding that I almost worked for 8 hours straight. While it sounds reasonable a lot of modders do not care what you think, we do mod the game for us and anyone who thinks similar. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel that modders shouldn't adjust there description not to turn people off but I have rarely seen anything extreme and I personaly feel that any description that states that they fixed one of bethesda screw ups actully makes me more intrested than bug fixes for example. I never told any modder what to do with his mod. I suggested that the way he or she presents it is the perceived reality to the person that considers downloading. I presented that suggestion as my opinion, many times I also never stated that merely saying that a modder has fixed something is to be seen as "bad". You have completely missed the point. Also, I most certainly am the target audience- I am the general public in regards to the community that plays the game- and you are also that target audience. I never uploaded any of the work I've done for games with the expectation that nobody would think the mod was intended for their consideration or use  You can be mad at Beth all you like. Didn't I address that, lol? But if you spew that all over your description, you'll seem like a punk to me, and I won't d/l. Be mad. Be furious. I'm not a flipping jedi master; I don't care if you embrace your anger. But if you put "Who else is sick of the dumb way that the devs..." or something like that in your description, I will pass I'm sorry that you don't understand but I explained myself very well. If you skimmed through my words above because it's a wordwall, well then that also tells me that as a modder, you aren't into taking constructive criticism, and that's a red flag too. My point is that there's an entire package to your mods. You might not agree or believe that the way you present your mod is part of that package, but that doesn't really impact on whether it's true or not. You can agree or disagree as you like, but that's my opinion. There's really no argument. I just ask that you consider it. if you didn't take the 3 minutes to read my initial post entirely, please do so, and think about what I'm saying Slow down man, you can't just make a tonne of asumptions and go on the offensive, I read your post, admittedly not clearly as I have I had a headache but I never said anything that should evoke a response like yours. I agree with you to an extent but like grimoa said it's up to the modder what he does to his description. Undoubtedly your post will have little difference to any mods because modders are doing this for themselves and you are trying to tell them what to do .
  5. I don't feel that much has to be changed with the whole perk system, I really like complex systems but I don't need them because quests usually substitute for the time I would spend into customizing my character. Unfortunetely quests suck in skyrim. In oblivion I felt like I was continously saving nirn from destruction, every guild quest ending was overly epic. FIghting the worm lord guy and doing the heist quest made you really fell like a superhero in disguise. But what really made the quests great is that while you did them you could look at your immersive UI and see the rank you had at the time and read all about what you were actually doing. Everything about them no matter how repetitive always had an element to it that made you feel "Well this is slightly different". Now in skyrim everything is just go A, kill B, collect C = Thane of whiterun and crappy shield that you immediately sell. Nothing is special, everything has been brought to a level where quests don't blow your mind, merely show you what bethesda have done. The mages guild was scrapped so they could just add the insufficient winterhold guild, the dark brotherhood no longer follows those really scrict laws that made them what they were and thieves guild doesn't equate to much either. It's like they purposefully dumbed everything down just work on it faster (I'm sure that's not the case but it is the impression I get). I don't think the argument that people want a simple game is a great one either, if I come home from a long day of work I want a form of escapism I can only imagine the more immersive something is the more relaxed I will get from playing it. None the less it's still a great game but I just wish it was a bit more complex to stimulate my mind a bit when playing it.

  7. I can't really help, I've got enough work to be doing on my own already but this looks cool. I will download once you release an alpha version of it :)
  8. Could have been the flow based water shader made by bethesda during the game jam week, see 0:40 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJguhBeaDIs

  10. Sorry for being away so long guys, I've been really busy with lucid dreaming. I have not lost hope on this mod at all, I've been steadily learning how to script and model before I indulge myself into a job like this, and in half a year I will be starting a college course on game development. I will not make any promises as to how long it will take to make this but be assured it will be done, I am in the end developing the entire project on my own. The modding scene has had an unthinkable amount of bug fixes and gameplay improvement in the last year but it seems to be going slow on the quest and content side of things, so I hope I can create a quality quest that you guys will like.
  11. Actually, if his provider DID contact him, it would be after they were contacted by a copyright holder that a suspect infringement has occured from one of their customers IP addresses. It's pretty standard practice (in the US) for the ISP to send a notification to the customer on record that a copyright violation has been reported using an IP assigned to them at the time. Well in Europe many internet provides check for torrent downloads and disconnect you on their own account. I'm not sure about America but here in Ireland I know a tonne of people that of that have been warned for downloading of YouTube by the internet provider themselves and not the copyright owner!!
  12. Thanks a million!! Havent tried it yet but if i works il be really happy. :)
  13. This!!! In ireland only mobile broadband isnt checked and if you do torrent they cut off your internet for two weeks paid. Like you said it seems like korea, oh well goodbye privacy
