  1. To help recruit people for this project, I will try to keep an up to date Development notes so people of interest know this project is alive and moving forward. We have a few people working on this, but we have just begun so right now it is only a few ideas. Many of those ideas is privileged information for project members but there is a few things I can share. First off, our goal is to create an Origin story in the Stargate Franchise. This will take place in SG-1, composing of an Joint Task Force of Tau'ri, Tok'ra, and Jaffa. An overall story has yet to be determined, but we are open to ideas. We have a few that we are playing with. As mentioned, we have a few people working on this project. I will act as Program Director/Producer. I will also take up World Creation and any programming that is needed. We will be making use of Blender, (thanks to NewByPower http://dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=268) to design assets in the game. In preparation for that, I am collecting 2D/3D designs of the Stargate Franchise for our Moddlers. I am also engaged into doing research, I am watching Stargate Atlantis (haven't seen it yet), and will likely re-watch Stargate SG1 (this will be my 4th time), which the complete season is on Hulu (I do have the DVD set). I don't know what Atlantis will give me for the final product, but I will watch it anyways. I have kept up with Stargate Universe, but again, I don't know what relevance it will have. For right now, we are looking for all sorts of people. Whether it is idea development, programing, 3D Models, World Building, Research. If you want to help out in any way, I recommend you message me and we can start talking and find your place in the project. We are definitely looking for people to wear multiple hats to get this project off the ground. I will keep everyone up to date on any new developments the project has. This post will be both here and http://social.bioware.com. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or message me. 2. So I start up again. First I remove all Elder Scrolls III software and registry entries. I then proceed to boot into windows in VGA Mode. I uninstall the video driver/software, and reboot in VGA Mode. This time I install an earlier driver for my video, 182 instead of 190. Back in windows after restart, I am now installing Morrowind. On my computer, takes about 5 minutes. For S&G, I also install the Construction Set, even though I do not plan on using. I move onto Tribunal. This takes about the same time, if not less than Morrowind did. I do the same with Bloodmoon. Now with both installed, I run the applications without any modding done. I am not using any cracks, mods, or patches other than what came with the GotY edition. I played through the game, and it played as expected. I now put in mge3.8-SVN_rev-0116.7z, and when I launch the game, it doesn't launch. So I remove the added files and throw in mge3.8-SVN_rev-0115.7z, which also doesn't launch. I go back to revision 0116, and this time I use windows Debugger and open MGEgui.exe inside debugger. Now this gives me, APPLICATION_FAULT_LOADER_INIT_FAILURE_80000003_MGEgui.exe!Unknown Before I proceed any futher, I take a look at the BGE Wiki to see if they offer any suggestions. Now I do see Problem: MGEgui doesn't start, I get a message "Application failed to Initialize" Cause: MGE cannot access the .NET functions it needs. Install Microsoft .NET 2.0. Now I did do previously a full install and got all of the updates I needed, but I am going to explore the possibility. So I am now downloading DirectX 9.0c, which an updated was released in March 2009. Also downloading .Net 2.0, and .Net 2.0 sp1. So I tried to install both .net, but they both wouldn't let me due to the fact that I had a higher version already installed. I did get DirectX installed. Trying again. It worked. Hopefully it is as simple as just installing the newest version of DirectX, and even though I can probably update my video driver, I am too superstitious to do so and thus, will just keep it that way until my research with Morrowind is complete. This confuses me, as I did everything before I possibly could, including update my DirectX9.0c. I can only assume is that it is everything combine that allowed this to work, because at one point it did. My specific problem was that Morrowind MGEgui.exe failed to load, but now it does after the DX9c update. Try loading March 2009 SDK update, it might help you.
  3. I need to get in contact with the Developers. Does anyone know how to do that? My problem is this... I can install Morrowind GOTY with the expansion packs, but when I get the MGE on there, it encounters a problem. Many of you have reported this and I have explored it as much as I could. It was working for me at one point, but I couldn't get some other mods to work, so I reinstalled Morrowind 3 times, and did a few system restores. When it occured, I looked in Event Viewer to look at application and it pointed to .net 2.0 error. I figure this meant that .net 2.0 was having a problem. I tried to repair .net 2.0 but no success. I then reinstalled windows with XP Pro SP3. All the time and effort, that did not solve the problem. I continued to look and found out that it had problem with kernel32.dll. This is likely that MGEgui.exe is trying to access memory address space that kernel32.dll is located, thus having the problem. I would replace the dll file, but it is a Windows protected file. Now I have done just about everything I can to fix kernel32.dll, and nothing has worked. Now it stands that kernel32.dll is having a problem, or the software itself is having a problem. I have a few more options to try, including using Bart's PE and replacing the kernel32.dll file. I have also tried installing Morrowind in a different directory, but that also did not work. So if I can get in contact with the Developers, I would like to discuss this, perhaps they know of a solution, or can create a fix. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear it, but I've done a lot already, so I'll let you know if it worked or not. It appears a couple of people have gotten this, so if I find a solution, I'll let everyone know. I can play Morrowind just fine with MGE, but I ask you, what fun would that be.
