  1. So I usually prefer wielding dual swords in Skyrim, but I've found that the only kill animation I mainly get is the one where you stab your enemy in the gut with both swords and lift them up a little bit, and occasionally (rarely) I'll get the one where you slice the person's leg and then cut their head off. As cool as these are, I get kinda tired of only seeing these two over and over and over again. I noticed, however, that when wielding just one sword, there are probably at least four different kill animations, all of which look freaking awesome. Would it be possible to set it up so that even when you're dual wielding, you could still use the one-handed kill animations? And even if it's not possible now, would it be when Bethesda releases the Creation Kit? I just wanna see a bigger variety of kill animations while dual wielding.
  2. Awesome, thanks dude. I was mainly just testing it out in my own worldspace, but I had eventual plans of generating in the wasteland. But, based on what you said, that's probably not a good idea. lol Thanks again. :)
  3. Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to make custom objects visible from a large distance by generating objects in the World LOD menu in the GECK. I tried following the instructions from this tutorial: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/World_LOD But it isn't working out that great. The object is generated, but it looks wrong. Basically, it's just a translucent mesh with no texture. When I'm up close, I can see the object just fine, (because it's the actual object, and not the lod). But when I walk far away, it only shows as this sort of see-through, texture-less version of that mesh. Plus, I can only see it in 3rd person view. When I switch to 1st person, it just doesn't show anything at all. Anyone think they might know what the deal is, and how to fix it?
  4. Aha! Yes, that is the one! Thank you so much! I knew that was around somewhere, I was just typing in the wrong search queries, I guess, hahaha... and for some reason, I didn't think to look in the "User Interface" browsing section. I thought it'd be under "Gameplay Effects/Changes" or "Miscellaneous". :wallbash: Anyway, thanks pal!
  5. So several months ago, I came upon a mod that added a sort of AI voice kind of thing to the game, which (if I remember correctly) was basically a voice in your Pipboy giving warnings, announcing when a new target is selected in VATS, letting you know when your health is really low, etc. I'm not sure if that's all accurate, but it was something like that. I was really intrigued by the mod, but didn't get it at the time. Now I want to, but I can't remember what it was called, and I can't find it. Anyone know what mod I'm talking about, and whether or not it's still available?
  6. So I'm looking to make a mod that has guns in it it, and I'm using Metricks Sci-fi weapons for the staff animations. I'm aware that Kendo Gunman also replaces the staff animations, but is it possible to make it replace the bow animations instead? Thus using pistols as the bows, and rifles as staffs. (Note: I have fallout 3, but it doesn't have all the resources I want for this mod I'm making. Plus, I like the gameplay in Oblivion a lot more)
  7. So I've been trying to figure out how to make my own animations using this tutorial: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...acter_Animation I've been able to figure out how to animate a model, but for some reason it doesn't work in game. I try putting it into Oblivion, and all it does is cause tons of glitches. For example, I tried changing the normal idle animation, but instead of changing it to the new animation I made, it replaced the original idle animation with the turning animation... so basically, my character is moving his feet a bunch as if he's turning, but he's standing in the same spot. And it also makes it so that when I just tap on the forward button, my character keeps moving forward until another animation interferes, like simply turning the mouse will make them stop. I'm willing to bet none of this makes sense to anyone, but basically whenever I try to import the new animation into the game, it just causes glitches, and doesn't show my new animation. And also, I don't know what it is, but there's this problem I'm having where when I export any .nif or .kf files from BSA Unpacker, Blender, or Nifskope, I can see the file when I try to open it through one of those programs, but when I simply go to the folder manually, if I want to copy it to another folder or something, it isn't there. I can still open it through Nifskope, but if I try to copy it through that into another folder, this message pops up saying the file is no longer there, but I know for a fact that it IS there. So, outside of those programs, those files are basically non-existent. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? I think this may be the cause of my first problem, cuz it could be that since the computer thinks those files aren't there, then Oblivion isn't able to import them properly. So I don't know if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, but help would really be appreciated if anyone knows what to do.
  8. thanks, that helps a lot! :) with the animations, mayus animation overhaul sets it so that all npcs get their animations from a different folder, right? so is it possible to set races to those folders? Or better yet, is it possible to set specific npcs to specific folders with animations that would match their personality?
  9. So I know it's possible to make it so that the player character has one set of animations, and all of the npcs use a different set of animations. But as the topic title suggests, is it possible to make it so that specific races have specific animations? For example, setting humans, orcs, and beast races to normal animations, but have all the elves assigned to something like DMC Stylish, so that it affects both the player and NPCS? And then, also, is it possible to assign specific models for the body type to different races? For example, if you're using Roberts Male Body Replacer, set the orcs and nords to muscular, the human races to average, and the elven races to slender? I know you can change the scale of different races in the CS, but I mean actually using different models for different races so that they're all anatomically diverse.
  10. So I've discovered that when creating clothing models, you should not duplicate a mesh and mirror it to create the inside of the model, because it can have disastrous results. For one thing, it completely messes up the UV wrapping, and secondly, the duplicate vertices aren't parented to the correct bones, so though they look fine with an unanimated model, as soon as you see it ingame, it messes everything up. So does anyone know a way to create the inside of clothes without messing it up like that? Cuz otherwise, parts of the clothes will be invisible from the underside. Basically, I'm trying to make a trench coat, but I don't know how to set it so that you can see the inside of it as well as the outside.
  11. Ah crap, nevermind, I found out what the problem is. I have to create a Normal Map for it, duh. So... I don't know if there's a way to delete this thread.
  12. So I'm really new to modeling, and I tried making a simple metal crate in Blender, and it works fine in Oblivion, except that it isn't affected by light, meaning that no matter how bright or dark a room is, the crate remains the exact same shade, even when I'm holding a torch over it. Anyone know how to fix that?
  13. Oh wait, is there a way to block mods? Is that why I can't modify any of them for myself?
  14. So, I've got a really annoying problem with the TES CS. For some reason, when I create an NPC using a custom race (in this instance, the Lineage Elves) the game crashes as soon as I walk into the area where that NPC is. For that matter, the same thing happened when I tried it with the Deep Elf mod. And also, for some reason when I try to add custom hair sets to a custom race (for example, I tried to add all of the hairs from the Deep Elves to the Lineage Elves) it causes not only the hairs I added, but also the other custom hair sets that already came with that race, to just disappear, and the only ones that stay are the vanilla hairstyles. And then, last of all, sometimes when I try to add custom items to an npc, the items aren't there in the game. Like, completely gone. I can still get them from wherever the modder originally placed those items, but I can't add them on my own. No matter what I try, they just pretty much dissappear ingame. I must have missed something when I was figuring out how to use the CS, cuz I can't get any of my own modifications to work. Anyone willing to help a budding modder out here? I'm starting to learn how to make my own models, but I'd like to clear these issues up first so they don't prove to be a problem later on and cause me to destroy my computer in frustration. thanks. :)
