  1. How about something like this, for the Khajiit? I was trying for something realistic, cub-like (mountain lions seem to have the most facial features in common with the Khajiit), but keeping with the unexagerated art style of the game. The profile shot seems a bit weird... but then, every time I look at my adult Khajiit references, their profile shot looks pretty weird, too.

I make these references prior to building the 3d model (this one's the male). I figure I'll make the bodies as modifications of the existing child-meshes, so they can all wear the same clothes. With tails, for these guys, of course. :)

Let me know what you guys think!

  2. While we're at it, let's put realistic amounts of food in bags and barrels. I mean, when would you ever open a barrel and find three potatoes?

Also: Onions. Why the heck don't we have onions? It's one of the most basic old-world foods there is, and one of the most vital for cooking anything.

  3. I would like some games to take part in, but I am having trouble finding people that need voices! any tips on where I can find modders in need? Where can I find "in development" type of mods on skyrimnexus? or any other game for that matter...

I'm not to a voice-acting mod level yet, but I'll grab your username and shoot you a message if and when I get there. :) Thank you!

  4. It's something I'm also interested in, building a town by Hearthfire tools. It's on my list, if someone else doesn't get to it first. I'm more interested in adding new children models to the game, though, so I've got an ambitious stack piled up.
  5. So far I've modded Skyrim to clean up the textures and blocky faces, but that's about it, appearance-wise. Maybe it's a girl-thing, but I find most of the 'beauty' mods sortof gross. Unnatural black lashes, giant eyes, grossly proportioned breasts. I don't mind that there are mods out there to change the styles. I just wish they wouldn't take up so much space on the nexus, because it's really not something I'm interested in and I hate scrolling through it all.

What I'd love to see is a body-type mod. Thick bodies with big breasts, thin women without curves, the difference between a boxer's build and a runner's, ect. Not really practical when you realize that you'd need to change the clothes to accommodate.

  6. I'd love to get it done; I'm a decent modeler and I have 3ds max, from my college days. I just need to learn more about the creation kit and how to port things back and forth to Skyrim first.

It really will be a big undertaking, though, which is why I won't make promises. Khajiit, Orc, Argonian, High Elf, Wood Elf, and Dark Elf children... male and female for each, plus a generic skeleton comes to thirteen custom meshes, and that's without variety. I'll make a post with progress once I get something done-- model ref sheets should probably be my first step.

  7. But you are aware, of course, that that would mean that children could die in skyrim...

Just kidding. :) I've got a ways to go yet, but one of the things on my to-model wishlist for Skyrim is children of -mer and beast races. I can tack a skeleton on my list as a bonus, but don't hold your breath.

  8. I was actually planning a mod along these lines-- say, building an inn outside my Hearthfire manor and recruiting that gal from Whiterun to run it for me. A shop and some neighbors for my Hearthfire kids wouldn't be bad, either.

Right now I'm at the skill level where I can create place mods and such, but I'd need to get further along before I can make any of this happen. So we'll see if it works out, or someone else beats me to it.

  9. Hey, we bought property in Hearthfire! Who says we can't start building our own town? We can grab that gal in Whiterun who keeps talking about wanting to run an inn to start with...
  10. The problem is, as I understand it, that there aren't any models for children of those races. All the human races have the same male and female mesh, colored appropriately. So our first step is to make some children. Which is tough for non-artistic types, since children change proportions as they grow. You can't just shrink down adults and call it good.

I'm not a modder... but I am an artist and I have experience modeling characters in 3ds max. If an experienced modder would like to work with me and teach me how to port things into the game, I can make the designs for this. I really want baby Argonians running about. It'd be adorable.

    My 3d reference sheet gallery

My 3d gallery (most of this stuff is pretty darn old-- the Verrus turnaround is my current skill level)

    PM me if you're interested!
