  1. ok let's go back to what I suggested

try making a new game with all the mods loaded and see if it lags still

if it does, then it's most likely a mod conflict, if it doesn't then it's most likely a broken, corrupted, or faulty script ( a script not written correctly )

okay all (aka anyone still interested for whatever reason).. I have FINALLY found the solution.. fullscreen.

That was it. the entire time.

I made a new playthrough yesterday. just decided to bite the bullet. reinstalled skyrim on a new SSD, removed my mod archives.. clean wipe. installed my favorite mods, made sure not to add new ones/remove old ones.. aaaand about 8 hours in BOOM. same issue.

This happened after a PC restart, which has been the exact thing to start it in the past. At this point I was determined to find the cause, I knew it wasn't my mods, everything was perfect.. I decided to run it in windowed mode and lo and behold, it worked. After some more research into the problem (something I was convinced no one else on the internet had) I found that a bunch of people, people not even running mods, were having the same issue.

I just can't believe that was what was causing my game to stutter and lag so badly.. I feel so dumb. So heartbroken that I lost 2 good saves to this problem for no good reason.

AND I had to bug all you lovely folks in the WRONG section of the forums as well.. I'll keep you posted if you're still interested

  2. i read back your posts, when you turned those mods from orange to green, it fixed the script problem, i'd really like to know which mods they were for future reference please

well, I'd love to tell you but I can't recall exactly which ones.

unfortunately the problem is back. earlier today I was fiddling about with a few mods, and in doing so somehow managed to get half of my mods to vanish from WRYE. after reinstalling them all, fixing the load order etc etc the game launches fine but the original problem is back.

Saves are purple, mods are green.. I've tried making 7 new saves.. still the same issue.. the game itself just seems to be running improperly.

    launch through SKSE, IMO, ALWAYS

well, I really appreciate your help.

everything appears to be loaded properly in WRYE, in the correct order as shown in the post you linked as well. I rebuilt the patch, launched through SKSE and still the same issue.

the game loads in 24 frames, locks to 30 at title screen and from there the whole game feels insanely unresponsive. Almost worse than actual 30 FPS.

are there any orange or red mods in WRYE?

also at the top of wrye, click the saves tab, what color is your top most save?

I have 4 or 5 orange mods in my WRYE.

as for my saves.. the most 20 or so recent are dark red..

All of the orange mods I have converted to green using TES5Edit.

As for the save situation, I guess I pretty much knew red meant bad.. lol. Though I made a new save and the problem still persisted. I have no idea what the issue is, it feels like a demon is possessing my skyrim. I can't even get the main menu tio work properly. ALL after 12 hours of flawless gameplay too!

Scratch that! Problem solved. I have absolutely no EXACT idea what the fix was, but my frames are back and the game is no longer sluggish. up nearly 80 frames.

Thank you all for your help and kind responses, you have been very nice to someone who knows nothing about what he's doing.

I apologize for posting this in the wrong thread, though I am again thankful for the help regardless of that.

  8. make Lanterns of skyrim load after Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch?

    yes

bashed patch explained in detail by the AUTHOR

    open wrye

look at bottom left where icons are

click blue circle with white ?

    click #6 in the list

    Cool.

Changed my load order accordingly and created a new bashed patch. What from here, launch game through vortex/nmm? or should i launch through WRYE

  9. Swap these to begin with - it specifically states on the unofficial description page that ONLY vanilla files should load before the patch ( this would include ESL files from creation club )

Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm=1

    Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp=1

you're also missing the dawnguard and USLEEP patches for CLOAKS

lastly and most importantly, you can't use that many mods with out a bashed patch from WRYE

    https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2235394-beginners-guide-to-modding/

    Alright, appreciate the response.

Read through the form link you sent, though I understood a good portion (and it was very helpful) I am still slightly confused.

When you say swap those to mods, do you mean swap the load order? like make Lanterns of skyrim load after Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch?

Now thankfully I already had WRYE, though I am confused on how to get a "bashed patch" and how that works in general

  10. Hey all. A few months ago I was doing a pretty small modded skyrim playthrough but unfortunately stopped due to a weird issue I couldn't resolve.

Though I can't recall exactly what I was doing, all I remember is that my game crashed ONCE, and upon launching it again it stuck at an extremely sluggish 30fps. Even the mouse cursor on the title screen felt sluggish. I was running it on like 120 FPS just prior to it happening.

Fast forward nearly a year later, I start another playthrough. Been playing for about 12 hours so far, no issues.. However, I attempted to put on a cloak from the "Cloaks of Skyrim" mod and got a game crash.. and of course, just like before, it launches but is only in an extremely unbearable 30 fps.

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it so much, I'm so heartbroken, I just want to play lol
