  1. Ummm, can I say, the open stars? Fine. The IC shack. Cheap, and you can store junk you don't need when you splurge to buy the storage area. I WISH I could afford the Skingrad place... As for modded, I think the boat stuck in a tree was kinda cool, even if you don't own it, really. The residents aren't very talkative, but at least they know a bit about hospitality.
  2. Yeah, I'll be sure to share it with the people.
  3. Yup yup, it WAS the LtPD mod. It took some doing, but I have the whole mod running PERFECTLY. Behold teh powah of teh mind!!1! Ahem... The mod: TOTALLY WORTH THE TROUBLE IT TOOK TO GET WORKING. The added NPC: Someone's a fan of the morrowind dunmer voice. I haven't actually played morrowind...(*GASP!* FOR SHAME LYCAN!) But I know the dunmer sound WAY different in that. Now, I think there's something more to the option of throwing coins into the fountains than just it being novelty, but I could be wrong, and someone in the IC is getting very rich off of my discarded gold...
  4. And three cookies for you. Thanks guys!
  5. Wow, people jumped on this sooner than expected. *Reaches for the metaphorical cookie jar* Okay, so once I got the OBSE plugged in I should try to run oblivion through that. Here goes...
  6. First off: I've never tried to RP before, and this is my first attempt at a premise. Here's how it works: No stats, just story. When you start, your character, however strong you believe him or her to be, is just a novice adventurer. The storyline starts when I get three other adventurers besides myself to join. Insulting other roleplayers won't be tolerated here. Bad attitudes, and bad blood will be story based, and the only flaming I hope to see are trolls. The fantasy kind not the forum kind. You must define the bases of your character, a basic overall description is all that's necessary. Example: Name, Age, Ethnicity: Joe Randolf, 19, Caucasian Job: Apprentice Civil Guardian of the Deamonsbane Brotherhood Civil Patrol (the BCP for short.) Skills:Basic swords, basic guns. Does not show any potential in the use of the magic arts. Okay, on to the setting! An alternate modern day, an ancient brotherhood of knights sworn to hold back the tides of daemons from an otherworld has until recently existed in secret. For many ages, they have kept the daemons supressed with minimal incedents, however, the daemon incedents have become more and more frequent, so the only way to continue the fight was to go public, recruit and train the common citizen in the ways of fighting against the daemon horde. Government institutions became established, and the brotherhood became integrated as a civil service branch like that of the Police and the Military. As a progressive measure, the brotherhood adopted a modern weapons program, customizing and outfitting modern firearms to be able to kill daemons as effectively as the weapons forged of the sacred ore needed to slay them. There are several factions within the brotherhood, in the list as follows: -Apprenticeship: The new recruits. -Civil post: People designated to combat smaller urban threats. -Knights of Daemonsbane: Handle larger scale assaults from the otherworld. -Guild of the Blade: Adept swordsmen, but also includes those who wield other melee weapon types. -Guild of the Arrow: Originally adept marksmen with bows and crossbows, the faction strayed from it's namesake when the brotherhood integrated as a governmental entity. Now those who specialize in modern firearms have taken the majority of members of this faction. -Guild of the Staff: Adept mages and the faction with the fewest members. There are few people remaining who have the ability to channel the power of runes and as such, magick is a fading art. -Guild of the Way:Veterans of battle who retired to take on the role of teaching the next generation of knights. -Guild of the Cloak: The covert ops and special investigations. Members of this faction answer only to Eldest Trinity themselves. -Guild of the Forge: They simply create weapons for brotherhood knights and work with the government to develop newer weapons to drive back the horde. -Guild of the Tome:Librarians. Documented history of battles, types of deamons, etc. Most of them do not fight, they mostly document and research. A couple do fight, however. -Guild of Heroes: Legendary knights who've survived some of the worst and are mentioned in many epic tales of past battles. -Elder Trinity: They rule over the brotherhood. Determine it's fate, and make the critical choices in times of strife. The main HQ of the brotherhood is an ancient castle, nestled somewhere in the mountains of Europe. The castle was recently renovated to facilitate the new members gained from other military branches. As I said, this RP is more about story than stats, but the story is made as the RP goes along. I'll start with a narrative introduction as soon as at least three others jump on. You can start as: an apprentice, from the civil post, from the blade guild, the arrow guild, or the staff guild. I'm going to be moderating this a bit, so that the characters are varied in skills. If you decide to join my RP, than thanks! Glad to have ya.
  7. Whoops. I goofed up here. Just click back. thanks.
  8. This is the first RP I've ever tried, so bare with me. Okay, I'll start with my guy. I'll make one up as I type this. Hmmmmm..... Ralph Drakehart. Adventurer questing for the "Dragon Fang" The ultimate sword of legends. Setting: Umm... modern day. (2009 or such...) Ralph, wanting to be a hero, quits his dayjob as a grocery store janitor to take up a quest to find a legendary sword that was mentioned in his grand uncle's journal. (I hope the premise isn't too cliche... if it is, I'll let you start it off.)
  9. Bunches of mods call for the use of it, and so I checked it out, however... many people have problems with running it, like crashing the game and such... a free metaphorical flavored cookie goes to whoever links a tutorial for help with this. 3 metaphorical cookies to whoever gives me a tutorial themselves.
  10. Ah, that might've been it. Time for me to go see...
  11. Alright, once I get the hang of things, I'll be sure to check 'em out. Thanks guys.
  12. YouTubing, I saw a mod that made the Imperial City have water fountains and water falls. It looked cool, and after visiting the IC several times I figured a refreshing add-on would be good for a change of pace. Also for say... hypothetical RPing reasons, the water would be a gift from the Nine Divines as a symbol of healing after the Oblivion crisis ravaged Cyrodiil. I forgot what it was called and the video I saw it in, but I think it's here on TESNexus. I'll be looking around for it, but I'll leave it open for anyone who knows off the top of their head.
  13. In good time. I gotta get the hang of the modding scene first
  14. It's a different effect, with a different shader, but yeah, technically. The real problem with any sort of spell which makes use of such effect is that the damage would only occur if the target happened to be outside, during the day, and the weather is clear. Otherwise the effect would be practically useless, even from a novelty standpoint since the effect wouldn't end up doing much. As 80-90% of meaningful fights occur inside caves, ruins, or similar, there would be very few worthwhile applications. It would also apply to things other than vampires, which kinda ruins the uniqueness of them. Yeah, the idea is pure novelty. Just been wondering.
  15. Thanks. I'm enjoying it already. I've been hacking my way through Tamriel with the brotherhood sword from FFX. Neatest weapon I've seen so far. Especially the bubbles that were added to make the blade look more authentic. After a while, I may start making my own if I ever get around to figuring it all out. Also, I've got a spankin' hot new question: how do I do in game screen shots? I wanna show off my character as my avatar or something.
  16. Fire. Frost. Shock... and Sun. I've been wondering if there's any mods that allow spells, and enchanted weapons to do sun damage? It's a factor that effects vampires, and wearing a certain piece of equipment can effect you adversely under certain conditions because of sun damage. So, If I had, say, a weapon that dealt sun damage on strike, i think it would become the end of many a vampire. I dunno, just wondering if anyone's toyed with the idea of a sun damage weapon or spell. http://fc01.deviantart.com/fs27/f/2008/146/4/c/Ganon_Animation_1_by_RJ815.gif NO! Not the Sword of Light, IT BUUUURRRRNNNNNSSSS!!!!!!!
  17. Aye, but I've got this wierd affinity for brooms. Y'know how M'aiq has a thing for calipers? Yeah.
  18. I had this thought... you know how there's all this useless junk in oblivion? Well... I thought of turning some of that stuff into wieldable weapons! Think about it. You could stalk all around cyrodiil as "the grim sweeper!" Infamous for hunting down unsuspecting victims with your broom of death. Okay, at the very least, I want to wield a broom as a weapon. The object's already in the game. Seems like a simple mod to me... then again, I don't know a whole lot about modding.
  19. The mods for bound items need some serious love. I've been all over TESNexus looking for a mod to retexture and remesh what a bound weapon can look like, for instance, having a character summon a holy sword instead of a Daedric sword. Also, I'd like to see a bound version of a long sword and/or a short sword instead of just a dagger and a claymore. A bound katana would badass. Ummm, and a different kind of mod, rather than casting a bound item for a time period and for a set amount, a good way to do modded items is to have it drain your magicka by a certain amount every second while it's equipped. There's much to be done with bound items, and I see so little. Really dissapointing...
  20. No-no, it's not like that. I asked her, if she could help me change the Elytras meshes and textures (<- as she said). But she said it's very complicated. Oh sorry I was not right: "you mean to replace all the spider like creatures with the meshes and textures of something else.." Yeah, sorry. I'm new to modding myself. I can't help ya much.
