  1. Hello. I would like somebody to make a black leather trench coat for Franklin a la the Matrix, Blade, etc. I don't mind if you can't (or if this just isn't possible) get the coat to abide by physics as far as being moved around in the wind is concerned. As long as it looks alright while I'm moving and standing still, that's all I ask for. Thanks!
  2. 0.o Yeah... like that... just with like... 10x the heath so you kinda of need multiple players for practicality's sake. But that is basically what I am thinking of. Using the giant's animation looks really cool, although you should see if you can increase the radius on the stomp attack to scale with the guy's size.
  3. Hmm... hadn't thought about companions. Companions would have to be a no, because they are effectively invincible. It wouldn't be too big of an issue as long as you weren't using a dead thrall. Summons would be okay if you ask me, as a proper raid boss would easily deal with a summoned creature, given the difference in level and lack of real skill with the summoned creatures AI. As for numbers, the modder could go as high as he/she wanted, as the real limiting factor is the host server's hardware. If my experience with hosting a Minecraft server on my gaming computer is any real comparison to what Tamriel Online will demand, going much higher than 4 on a non-server grade system will be pushing it. As for level scaling, that could be a way of doing it, but I was thinking that it would be a set level that the modder would then have to make an educated guess (or though actual testing) as to what the proper party count and character level should be.
  4. Hello, So, with Tamriel Online getting closer and closer to a true multiplayer mode for Skyrim, it got me thinking. Once that mod is complete and stable enough, Skyrim can basically act as an MMORPG. What is a staple of MMORPGs for high level characters? RAIDS AND RAID BOSSES! Seriously, stay with me here. Remember fighting Karstaag, and how he looked like a boss, had a variety of abilities like a boss, and you even fought him in a textbook example of a boss room? Well now, imagine instead of your one single character fighting him with 4000 HP to kill, imagine you... plus 5 other people around the same level... and Karstaag now has 50000 HP! A draugr raid could be filled with death overlords as the normal enemy, and then some super-powerful shout-happy draugr at the end. Dwemer ruins? Might as well just fight the Brass God himself. I know this sounds like it should be in the mod request area, but (A), I'd like to see what you guys think about the idea as a whole, and (B) the required mod isn't even finished enough yet to properly request that these be made. I'm just throwing the idea out there for discussion purposes.
  5. I saw that, but it's too wordy and just doesn't have the same effect as what they do in JRPGs.
  6. Pretty self-explanatory. A mod that would show the damage you deal to an enemy above that enemies head (or yourself if you take damage) JRPG style. Maybe even have different colors for elemental damage, healing, and critical hits. I'm kinda surprised I don't see a mod for this already to be honest.
  7. Hello, I went to enchant a greatsword from a mod with Absorb Health + another enchantment, but as a was clicking through the enchantments I noticed that the absorb health value was jumping between 20 and 67 depending on what the other enchantment was. I uninstalled all of my mods save for the utilities that prevent crashing, and tried to enchant an iron greatsword, but the variable absorb health was still showing up. I have all the DLC, and I didn't see this weird effect listed as a bug under enchanting or absorb health, so I don't know if it is still an effect of the mods or not. Can anyone confirm this or not?
  8. Hello, I noticed that the USP didn't fix the glitch whereby Hevnoraak's enchantment has no actual effect, and I was wondering if someone could please fix this? Thanks!
  9. Tempering doesn't require extra material, tempering is the act of heating metal in a way that cools it slow enough so that it doesn't become brittle. To upgrade a weapon such that you need smithing skills and additional material would imply that you are in-fact adding to the weapon, which would require welding (and therefore hot coals), which is something that can't be done to the Ebony Blade. Dawnbreaker doesn't really count, because to the best of my knowledge, there isn't any text that states that it is immune to a forge's heat.
  10. Hello, I have a character that uses the Ebony Blade, and I noticed that the USP makes the weapon upgradeable at a grindstone. While I understand why someone might feel that not being able to upgrade the Ebony Blade was a small bug/oversight on the part of the developers, the book Admonition Against Ebony clearly states that "Not even the hottest fires of the Skyforge could melt it; indeed the coals themselves seemed to cool when it was placed within. We cannot destroy it...". Therefore, I would like to hear an explanation as to why the developers of the USP decided that the Ebony Blade was meant to be upgradable. I'd like to upgrade the blade if it makes canonical sense, but the explanation on the Wiki as to why you can't seems to have a pretty solid argument.
  11. I want killable children so I can slay all of those little runts since Bethesda wouldn't let me... but I don't want to accidentally kill the kids that have quests for me.
  12. Really? I mean really? Wow... that just pisses me off so much. Nobody is getting hurt. It's a drawing that a government has decided needs to be protected like a real child, yet nobody cares when those same art styles depict murder? Seriously, what the heck?!
  13. Fair enough about the legality, but then why allow killable children if morality is of concern?
  14. DISCLAIMER: I in no way am interested in downloading the theoretical mods stated below. This discussion is only harbored out of confusion regarding a certain nexus ruling for mods. Hello, So, as my character in Skyrim is a devoute follower of Mephala, I felt that it would be sensible to go out and download both mods to increase the effect of mudering someone (which resulted in the Gore and Mutilation mod along with EBT), and sex (which briefly resulted in Animated Prostitution, until skeleton conflicts arose). Now, when one goes through the AP mod's description, the modder explicitly states that rape is not allowed due to nexus rules, and pedophelia probably is as well (implied, but not explicitly stated). Now, it got me wondering why these aren't allowed. If we can kill people, and mods are allowed to kill kids, and mods are allowed to have sex with people, why not just go the one step further with children? Morality clearly can't be the reason, as killing children surely wouldn't be allowed, and I doubt legality is either, because I can cite precident from a 2002 Supreme Court ruling that overturned a 1996 ban on possession of virtual pornography depicting underage children on the grounds of nobody actually getting harmed [1]. As for the explicitly known ruling of rape, I become more confused, as in the AP mod itself, you can use an intimidate check to have sex with someone. In many developed nations, sex by intimidation is defined as rape, so why (presumably) the "classical" definition of rape isn't allowed, and yet more... how one might say... "socially liberal" definitions of rape are allowed for mods is beyond me. Again, I would argue that morality can't be the cause, as I doubt the moderators would let intimidation-based sex (if not also possibly the whole concept of prostitution itself) be allowed if the reason was for morality, and as for legality, I once again point to the ruling of the aforementioned court case. Therefore I inquire as to the logic being used to define these rules. While it may be easy for one to say "no rape or underage sex", as such a ban is commonplace in modern society. When one takes into account the fact that this is a video game where nobody is actually getting hurt, and certain aspects of mods seem to contradict the nexus ruiling, such a ruiling stops seeming intrinsically sensible. 15. What do I need to open up to get to the script writer? I suppose I should have mentioned this earlier. I've never modded Skyrim before, and I never got all that far in the tutorials since they were never going to cover the topics that I wanted to learn. I have a background in programming, so I'm competent in this sort of stuff... just totally ignorant of how to mod Skyrim specifically.
  16. Hello, I'd like to make a potion that upon consumption, it will cause a fireball-like explosion (in fire damage, AoE, and visual effect) on the consumer (ideally, someone whom you reverse pickpocket the potion into) after a short delay. Unforunately, I haven't seen much in the way of how to make custom potions, so I am looking here for help. Thanks!
  17. Hello, I would like to propose a custom leveled potion to be added to Skyrim that creates a high damage short radius AoE (think the fireball spell with more damage) on the caster after a short (5 second) delay. The idea being that while two enemies are close to each other talking, the player would reverse pickpocket the potion into one of the enemies inventories, get away and then BAM! both enemies are at the very least damaged, if not both dead. As far how one obtains the potions, I've decided that the best way to implement them would be to have both Enthir (given the fact that he trades in black market goods, and has access to the College of Winterhold's resources, along with allowing magic-based characters to play with the potion) and Babette (given that she is with the Dark Brotherhood, and is an alchemy trainer/seller) allow the player to give them each Fire Salts and Dwarven Oil in groups of five at a time (or whatever the player has left that would fulfil the 1:1 ratio), to which the respective NPC will give the player five appropriately leveled Alchemical Fire potions. If the player has captions turned on, the respective NPC would mention that the explosive is fairly stable, as the two ingredients are seperated by a piece of cloth. All he/she has to do is shake the bottle (the player doesn't actually do this, it's simply implied whenever the player uses the potion), put it in someone's pocket, and get to a safe distance quickly, as the reaction will quickly go out-of-control, resulting in an explosion. The leveling of the potions would follow the same progression as heath potions do, being worded as: Crude Alchemical Fire (40 damage)Alchemical Fire (75 damage)Refined Alchemical Fire (100 damage)Crippling Alchemical Fire (175 damage)Vigorous Alchemical Fire (225 damage)Military-grade Alchemical Fire (300 damage)NOTE: Damage will probably need to be balanced. They should each one-shot enemies that are on the lower-end of what the player will face at a given level, for example, the Crude variant will one shot a level 1 bandit. I would suggest using the Skooma model for all variants (if possible, make the bottle more red-orange colored to reflect the ingredients inside), as the Skooma bottle is small and skinny, and would therefore be the most logical thing to use if you wanted to slip it in someone's pocket.
  18. I completely disagree with this idea on a number of accounts. Firstly, school systems, as we all know, do NOT have an abundance of resources at there disposal. There are very good reasons why a history class in a given country tends to stick with the history of that country, and why science classes tend to teach mainstream science. Schools both don't have the money to teach the minority factions of these subjects, and also, teaching them would mean that students would be aware of a thousand things and barely know any information on any of it, because they were only given a negligable amount of time to be taught teach subject. Secondly, the differences between a homocentric and hederocentric sex education class would be minimal at best. From the sex ed classes that I have had, they were not focused what so ever on any sort of "idendity" as you seem to imply, but was entirely focused on one of two things, depending on the age I was when I was taught: In 7th grade, I was given as abstienence-focused education, that as I recall, was fairly gender neutral as is, as it was focused on nobody having sex with anyone to begin with. By the time I was a junior in high school, my second sex ed class had changed its' focus from abstinence to pregnancy and STD prevention, the former of which could be ignored by homosexuals, and the latter is something that both sexualities need to take heed to. Therefore, I assert that same sex education in schools is a bad idea on account of it being poor resource management for an underresources system, and such a change would be little different from the current system anyways, and would far better be relegated to say... replacing the few classes in my heath class that kept trying to convince us that weed was going to get us killed.
