The game will open and go to the main menu, but when I try to start a game, it just goes BACK to the main menu. What do I do about this? I did a clean install before putting everything back in.

What I'm looking to do is to mod manually. I have a lot of mods from a previous version of the game. I found the folder they went in and saved them all. I was having difficulties getting the Steam version to work, so I did a clean install and am in the process of updating any mod that was updated after I downloaded it the first time.

Where do I put mods if I have a steam version of the game? I have a bunch I've already downloaded, I just don't know what folder they go into with Steam.

Hello guys, I'm having an issue here. I loaded in a bunch of mods, and suddenly my loading screen images are gone. I tried turning off all the mods (except for the Overrides in BG3MM, since I don't know how to turn those off, and anything that was written directly to either the Bin folder or Generated), but they're still not there. Do you think something may have gotten deleted? If so, is there a way for me to get them back? I don't think I loaded any mods that should have directly changed the loading screens... I liked the default ones. So right now, whenever the game needs to load anything, it's a black screen with some hint text. Thank you in advance for the help! ^_^/

Good afternoon, guys! ^_^/ I'm having a bit more luck with version 1.11.6, but there's something I'm not quite understanding; I'm downloading for Baldur's Gate 3 right now, and I keep getting more and more "instructions" requests. I thought Vortex wanted me to download these certain optional files, but it looks like they're already downloaded/installed, so I'm not quite sure what it wants me to do! But then again, I might be reading it wrong entirely.

Hello! ^_^/ So, I downloaded and installed Vortex, and I've been running it for a few hours... and I am absolutely over it already. I don't mind the incessant errors so much, those you can ignore. What I cannot ignore, however, is the way it reloads itself every 10 to 20 minutes and pauses all my downloads. So if I'm not paying attention, everything stops for however long it takes me to glance over and see that, yet again, the darn thing hiccoughed and stalled everything. Is this a bug? Or is this some sort of sadistic feature to keep users on their toes? Is it checking to see if I'm awake? Anyway, I was just hoping there was an alternate way to download and install collections. The idea of them is very appealing, and the time people took to create them should not be wasted because the intended installer is buggy. But, like I said, if this can somehow be turned off.... oh, there it goes again. I know because it keeps popping up saying "Failed to install the extension "Game: The Witcher 3" from 'github'". Mind, this error started from the moment I booted up Vortex; I don't own The Witcher 3. -_- Frustration rising.... Deep breaths. Thank you for any help you can offer! Or just hugs. I can't get anything TOO expensive, but I was looking ONLY on the NVidia site. The prices here are quite a bit different. What card would you get, if you were shopping for one to replace an older one? The one you currently have? Something slightly better? I just got my 1000 Watt Power Supply replaced, so I think I'm good on power, but it sounds as though the GeForce is more efficient, so I'll stick with one of those if I can. Edit: Honestly, the different cards confuse me. Some of them have one fan, some have two, I just don't understand the difference and which one is better... I just want a relatively GOOD graphics card that will play this damn game without crashing on me, but also something that won't break the bank!!! Also... adorable! Tickles are always good. No, I really wouldn't be happy with that... I saw a 6gb one that was about $250 or so, but it was sold out, which is why I was looking into the Radeon. And I must say, those are ALL significantly cheaper. Unless you're just freakin' nuts and go for some crazy option. xD I'm looking for something between 6-8gb, and... well, I don't really know what the other important options are. ^_^;; Like "Graphics Clock", "Processor Clock", "Memory Data Rate", etc. I know a store in town that can put the graphics card in for me (because I would be like a toddler trying to do surgery if I tried to install it myself. I'm having a problem with my game randomly crashing and getting this error: DirectX Error DirectX function "Dx11Renderer::tryMap" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has ocurred."). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590", Driver 37878. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. Also, make sure you have a supported graphics card with at least 512MB. I know I have the latest drivers. I'm wondering if my graphics card is out of date? I've been considering buying a new one lately (expensive as they are), especially the NVIDIA ones. So if there's any way I can avoid that, I'd really like to. If not, is there a less expensive option than the GeForce?

I can wait. Especially since it isn't ONLY Dragon Age: Inquisition... it's Mass Effect 3 as well. I'm hoping since they're both Bioware, the process will be the same either way. Eeee.... I am NOT good at this stuff, to start off. ^_^; But I started out by installing the game to my external drive, so there's no problem there, so absolutely NO moving the Program files. Just the Bioware folder. The only thing I wouldn't know how to do is to tell the game how to find the Bioware folder after I moved it, which is why I have not attempted it, yet. :X I've gone without mods thus far since I don't have the space on my hard drive for them (especially the texture mods that I love so dearly - A Lot Of Textures looks so amazing, I WANT it!), so I'm hoping you can manage to help me. It's... sort of a mod problem. I just want to start over without completely uninstalling the game.

Hey guys. I think I've made some mistakes with some mods, and I'd like to begin again, but I'm not sure how to do so without completely reinstalling. Is there a way to get rid of ALL my mods without having to reinstall? I have some NMM mods, and some others that I've installed manually. I'm not sure how to uninstall things from NMM. When I begin again, I'd like to use NMM for everything. How do you make mods work with NMM? Thanks so much guys!

Hey guys! I finally finished up my downloading of mods. Now I just have to install them... along with BOSS, Skse, and NMM. Will BOSS see any conflicts I have with mods? Cause I'm pretty sure I'll have conflicts here.. this is my list:

Does it matter WHICH manager I use to install mods? Do the mods themselves have to be... mmm... setup a certain way? I suppose I'll continue to download all the mods I want, maybe ask again before beginning to slowly install them. ^_^;; I can't be the ONLY person who loves all of these beautiful Skyrim mods, can I?! Meep! Oh, but, are there any mods so far in my list that you wouldn't, personally, download and use? I've been really trying to look hard at each one, see how it works, what it does, what it looks like... but sometimes that can be hard. I'm most worried about the companion mods, and some of the fighting mods. I've passed on a lot of other kill move mods, thinking they'll probably interfere with AKM, and I went for Deadly Combat over Duel - Combat Realism. What would your personal choice be? Honestly, when I'm asking questions, I'm more interested in your guys' PERSONAL choices and such. I bow to your greater experience. :D

All right. So... say I get finished finding every single mod my heart could ever desire. ^_^;; What's the best way to install them all? Because, some talk about Wrye Bash, others about NMM (I know what all of these are), but a lot of mods seem to prefer one over the other. Sometimes, they just say to do it manually. Does it actually MATTER? I know there are some mods that give you choices in installation (I believe like in "Bellyaches Animal and Creature Pack"), picking blue eyes, brown eyes maybe gold eyes, or different colors of fur. All right, so... if I can technically get all mods to work together... are there some on my list that are redundant? :D

Hey guys! I've been wanting to play Skyrim for a long time now, but I've had trouble with mods before. So, now I have a new computer with... Windows 64-Bit Intel® Core i7 CPU 960 @ 3.20GHz 6.00 GB of RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 And I've been downloading mods by category. I'm only partway through the C's, and I have over 80-90 mods. >.>;; I suppose what I'm asking for... can you look for conflicts in what I've found so far, or perhaps give advice about what I've chosen? I don't mind being told something totally sucks. ^_^ Anyway, here's the list: I haven't gotten to any of the hair/face mods (my fave!) I just want to make the game as beautiful and fun as possible. All right... new computer, starting over clean. What programs would you recommend I have to start off? I tend to manually put the mods in the folders. At first, I tried to keep them separated, but then I just sort of... jumbled them together. Probably not the smartest idea. So, maybe a good program that installs the mods for me?

For the video mods, I believe the best answer would be: All. Whenever I try to look at these video mods, I see multiple ones I think look good. It's been awhile... I don't remember exactly which ones I got. Skyrim HD 2k sounds correct... as does the post processing, but not SURE. Definitely the realistic lighting one as well. And I also believe I loaded it with SKSE. As I said, it's been awhile, I haven't even begun to try again. Beyond that.. not sure. When I loaded all the plugins, it would end, it seemed to me, just before the first dialogue began. And I could not load a save. It would always crash. As I turned off the plugins, I tested it by making a new game. It never worked, so I assume it was one of the plugins that couldn't be turned off from the menu.

All right, so, the first time I installed the game and tried to add mods, perhaps I went a little overboard. There were SO many I liked, so I grabbed them all. I have a computer that has the processing power to support them, so why not? However, the game crashes! I believe the problem comes when I try to integrate two different types of video mods, or audio mods, etc. So, I'd like a little help; what I'd like to know is what you guys suggest, mostly for video, what can be combined, what can't be. I'm a total amateur at this, so I simply DON'T KNOW what I can do. What I did before was to take two video mods, extract them, and combine them. You know how sometimes one mod has more files than another? I wouldn't let it override anything, I'd simply take the files that weren't in the other mod and go from there. I suppose... that created a problem! There's just SO much out there, and I'm having trouble deciding. I like mods that make the environment look nicer, the night sky, the weather, the beasts, everything really, so I tried to find things that did each of these. I also don't like the default characters, so I grabbed a lot of mods that could make them prettier (always updating that one annoying file, I forget what it's called), and again, combining mods. I'm really very lost at this point. I've tried asking before, and got very little response. Second time's the charm, right? Or... maybe third time, but I hope I get a good response this time! Something like... what mods YOU use... and combine. Thanks in advance! It's been awhile since I tried to play again, so I hope I can figure out what I did wrong, and what I can use to make my game GORGEOUS. And, remember, I just got a new computer with the best video card available (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 was the best offered when I was ordering this computer), so I'm HOPING it will be able to process high levels of graphics without issue.
