  1. About the neck seams... It's the textures. The mesh itself looks seamless. It doesn't look like Oblivion's neck, like someone poked a stick with the head on it onto the body. It looks obvious that the face and neck textures look better than the body textures. That's the reason for the seam. More like bad texture transition to be honest.

This is late alpha anyway, and it's Xbox graphics. Bethesda aren't stupid, they will do something.

  2. I have a lot to say on this subject, but I can only be bothered to say this.

About rents, if you manage to make an NPC your friend, and somehow end up in their house at night, e.g. breaking in, then they might let you stay for a night. At least that's what I heard and it was confirmed. So if you have a friend somewhere and you're homeless, you can just stay with them.

  3. In the flickr page for the photos I found Skyrim's rating. ESRB RATING: MATURE with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, and Use of Alcohol.

That's the same for Oblivion, basically. It had blood @ gore, but strong violence. The last ones are the same, too.

  4. Yes, the face generation was, well, crappy. But what the faces showed us is that everyone is pretty. No scars, no marks, no tattoos, everyone's face is clean and shiny.

I made my choice in Skyrim. I'm an Imperial. I will wield magic and a sword.

  5. Hello, Dave.

Yeah I'm waiting for your preview too... I just remembered who you are, lol.

If you could, could you post links to those 18 mb ones? Pretty please?

EDIT - I can't help but notice blocks on their noses. I also can't help but comment that there are no seams between the neck and the body. It's just the texture quality of the body is a bit lower than the face and neck. It's not the models.

Also, the argonians are wearing a pair of boots round their necks. I'm sure the ones of you who would go slaughtering everybody would like to know that.

  6. On Facebook the official Elder Scrolls page revealed the following screenshots. These are made using one of the many preset faces that can be used as a base in the character creation at the beginning. This is not what your character will look like.

Edit, Dave from RipTen just posted basically what I just posted, but he posted a link to bigger pictures.

    Same stuff, but from Facebook.

Those are just a few of them. All of them, one for each race can be viewed here.

  7. This might be disliked by a lot of people, but hear me out.

Did anyone dislike how certain armors were so much stronger just based on material?

I would prefer armor strength to be based more on enchantments, that could just be me though.

Yeah, could just be you. I have a bad feeling about this.

Actually armour is quite balanced. Iron and fur are the beginning sets of heavy/light for example. Glass and Ebony/Daedric are the top end sets of light/heavy. I like that. Keep in mind that glass armor is not the kind of you make windows with, it's the ore found in Morrowind.

  8. I'm not sure if you have watched the QuakeCon demo, but when an Archer comes to help Todd, he gets a quick bite from a dragon, and before dying he starts to twitch, drops his bow, drops himself, and then dies. Also, there was a perk about "bleeding damage" or something. I guess we will see some dying animations, beside finishing moves. For bows... I hope there aren't finishing moves, just too unfitting with Skyrim. That also includes slow time after a shot in my book. Instead, they should put death animations.

Something you might not know is, to trigger the finishing move you have to be on your last enemy in the battle, and it has to be a power attack.

  9. But since the thread is created, I'm gonna contribute.

I'm most excited about the enviroment. Just walking around the beautiful forests is a great experience.

Also the new magic system which looks amazing and dynamic.

I remember I was watching Skyrim QuakeCon scene by scene analysis and I heard "Look at that butterfly. It casts its own shadow."

That level of attention and graphics puts the game into the next generation. And that wasn't even the PC version!

Things that I'm excited about in Skyrim: Combat, dragons, more dragons, spells, swords, magic, exploration, graphics, NPC's, dogs, irish wolfhounds, chasing after foxes chasing after bunnies, and of course, storyline. And beer.
