  1. Hi all, I wanna get back into Skyrim, I will be running a Illusionist Archer not sure how it's gonna work out but should be fun. I am looking for some essential mods to increase the fun! I guess I should give some perimeters of what I do and don't like. 1. I would love to make my game look beautiful so any Graphics & Lighting enhancements would be welcomed. I am running a decent rig 16Gb Ram, R9 290 Gfx card so I should be able run everything... Right? :) 2. I generally run Female toons so anything to spruce the girls up would be fab - It can be 18+ I will decide whether it's too kinky to be in my game, same goes for any good armors that come paired or recommended. 3. I love animation alterations as I spend most of my time in third person. 4. I vaguely remember there being some Audio alterations for spells and the like I don't know which are the good ones some suggestions here wouldn't go amiss. 5. Followers. I never quite used them before and I think maybe a nice talkative follower would be nice. I can't quite think of any more that I would like but throw in some Misc ones if you like. Thanks guys!
  2. Hi, I have been browsing the site trying to find a High Res Texture Pack for Skyrim. I tried using the Skyrim HD pack but I couldn't get it to work and I had no real clue on the install, I assumed it was as easy as "Download With NMM" but I did and it made no impact on the game at all, I then discovered that he has since stopped updating the mod. Is there a HD mod out there that is still being updated? Thanks -Xyion
  3. I'm expieriencing some problems with 1.4 just game instability it closes down, I have updated all the mods I had and so on so it might just be conflicts with the mods but I can't be sure. Crash 1: I was just browsing the level up menu and it died. Crash 2: Was attempting to loot a corpse and it died. I'm also upset with this thread as someone has revealed a part of the main story line which I have not reached yet thanks bro!
  4. I've managed to get Killing Blows when the enemy is down and surrenders every time this happens I can cause a Killing Blow. Thanks for the Mod there.
  5. Does changing Race through the console alter the game in anyway? Does it have any affect on conversations for example you started the game as a Khajiit but then switched to a Dark Elf would people still recognise you for the Khajiit you started with? I actually just tried it; it alters your skills and puts them all back down to default. Anyway to avoid this?
  6. Pretty sound idea if you ask me. I know I would use it.
  7. I've never actually initiated a Killing Blow using a power attack I will give it a go. I would just like to know how exactly they work. I have also looked around the internet to see if I could find some stuff on Magic Killing Blows and thus far nothing only a video that claims it's possible but the video actually show's nothing of the sort. The commands you can use to increase the likely hood of it happening are: set killmoverandom to <0-100> set decapitationchance to <0-100> I don't know what the default values are.
  8. I think I know what you mean. Overall excellent voice acting they deserve awards for their efforts but I would like the addition of a voice actor that only does one character and as you say has personality. Puss In Boots would be epic.
  9. I have managed to do a Killing Blow on stairs but the animation breaks is all that happens. I have sometimes used a Killing Blow on an enemy with full health it must be something to do with Critical Strikes, I am surprised I haven't seen a mod to allow for more of these Killing Blows. @chanchan05 Do you mean sneak attacks through Archery or Melee Weapons? I know that if you sneak attack, with a blade you do a Assassination. I am surprised that there isn't anything like Fallout 3 where Killing Blows happen with guns, I think this would make Archery more appealing.
  10. I'm not entirely sure of what it is called but the animation of a killing blow, how are these calculated or how are they activated? How many different types are there, is it just Melee weapons or are there Killing Blows for Spells or Bows & Arrows? Is there a way to force it so that it can be done more frequently because they are really cool.
  11. Does anyone else think or expect this? When I speak to any Male Kajiit I expect Antonio Banderas to be the voice? I just expect it to sound like Puss In Boots. I would so love it if in just one quest they got him to be the voice for a Kajiit, would be epic or it could be some work for a budding voice actor out there!
  12. Thanks for your response I will try this as soon as. I press print screen and Skyrim has it's own function of saving the shots but for me it doesn't work. I am also going to try the Steam Screenshot program.
  13. I searched the forum and found a post relating to this but his solution was an error with his monitor. I'm currently playing on my laptop as I am away from my main PC. Every time I press 'Print Screen' I try and load the image out of the folder the image either doesn't load in windows viewer but will load in some other applications but come out black and white or stretched or just a complete mess. Is there something I am doing wrong? I hope I can salvage the pictures, don't particularly want to try and get them again.
  14. Yeah I like that idea. Mask of Zorro style.
  15. I'm totally with you on that Rooker. A mod that allows you to dismount faster would be very effective and yes one that makes it so the horse down't attack all the time, although I hear Shadowmere is hardy horse the hardest in the game to kill so might not be so bad with that. I don't know if this is possible but having your horse carry stuff would be totally awesome too, I'd store the heavier things and so on I wouldn't even mind if there was an RPG effect to it where the heavier the goods the slower the horse. @No_Aardvarks_Allowed Good find, that will definitely help.
  16. What do people prefer to do? Horses get you around faster, but in my opinion hinder the ability to pick ingredients up. Running is slower but gives you the ability to pick ingredients up. I actually at the moment prefer Running, especially if it is a location I haven't visited before and on occasion I have missed a lot of stuff while speeding past stuff on horses.
  17. I've not actually encountered (at this level) any problems with Mana, as all I am doing is casting a Summon and then focusing on One-Handed side of things. One of the things I forgot to mention was whether I should take some perks from Destruction also which would increase damage output but then I would run the risk of having low Magicka but I think this could easily be countered by Enchanting at later levels, so this build has a huge amount of versatility at late game but for early game it would be wiser to just put points into the Primary Skills. I also think Dual Wielding is definitely something that is viable especially for late game as the better spells in Conjuration means you can drop the spell in one hand and use to bound swords. I think I am going to stick with Atromancy. It's a character that I have come to really enjoy and I excited to explore the character and it is one I can definitely tailor and tinker with at various points throughout the game, but my main focus is getting Atronachs and obtaining a really good follower. I am leaning towards Lydia.
  18. Hello, Quick question, it's probably not possible but I made this account ages ago and well upon registering I made and error in my Name for the forum I just wanted Xyion UK not Xyion UKI is it possible to remove my typo at all? Thank you.
  19. So after reading through everything about 3 times just to get everything into my brain... I have decided to start again and start a more specialised character and work on getting a few skills higher and perking to higher tier within the skill before branching out to other skill trees. I will give a an overview of my new character build the best I can and you can tell me what I can change or how I can improve also when I can start Smithing and Enchanting. I'll start by writing all the skills, weapons, armor, perks and so on and then comment on them afterwards. Class Name: Battlemage Race: Breton - Female Statistic Focus: Health 40% / Magicka 40% / Stamina 30% Primary Skills: Conjuration, One-Handed Secondary Skills: Heavy Armor, Block Stone Ability: Mage Stone Essential Perks: Conjuration Spell Ranking Perks Summoner Atromancy Elemental Potency Twin Souls Mystic Binding Soul Stealer Armsman Juggernaut Well Fitted Shield Wall Weapons: One-Handed Weapons (Bound Swords) and Spells Armor: Heaviest Armor that provides the most Armor + any enchantment that increases Magicka Regen or boost to skills. With the perk selection you can get an idea of what I am going for basically a Mage that take some melee damage but will have Atronach's to help defend herself. A few things I would like to get help with are the Stone Abilities, I don't know if the Mage stone is the best choice but I thought maybe for early game to get Conjuration higher and then switching, to increase other skill trees faster. Another thing is whether to Dual Wield and drop Block, if I summon creatures to help fight for me and possibly take a follower along I might not necessarily be tanking most of the time and if I dual wield I can do higher DPS. Conjuration is it best to completely max the tree and take both Necromancy and Atromancy paths? I've not got the experience to say which is better, but I can only "assume" that atronach's tank for you thus allowing me to avoid damage and get as many blows in with my swords. Also as you guys know I am a lover of Smithing and Enchanting which as you can see I left out completely, I did this to allow for me to get a better foothold on other skills first (Conjuration) before doing Smithing or Enchanting. I will slowly increase these skills but any levels (if any) gained through these skills I will hold onto the perk points and save them and spend them where they count. I guess the whole build needs neatening up with experience but it sounds and looks fun I made the character it's level 3 and so far I am enjoying it. Any alterations that you guys think I can make can still be made as I haven't spent any perk points. Again thanks to all that have helped me understand this game. Let me know what you guys think.
  20. @ManleySteele by Elementals do you mean weapons with enchantments on them? I have a huge problem with the enchanting in this game, at my level I tried it and just seemed stupid. Add 1 point of extra fire damage on hit is terrible what's the point not to mention the fact that gaining soul gems and storing them is a huge up hill struggle. All my mana gone in one cast of Soul Trap and then you get the wrong soul for the soul gem and it's all to fiddly, also if you have weapons with these enchantments they burn out if you dual wield constantly slicing your opponent after 3 enemies your found recharging your weapons. @AaronEh I don't quite understand what you mean? It is apparent to me that I am total noob at this game and there doesn't seem to be any margin for error in the game, I've picked a few to many perks in to many skill trees and I have been utterly punished for it, not being able to kill things a constant struggle to survive which is more or less forcing me to grind or restart. All I wanted was a Stealthy Assassin who was good at Dual Wielding, Archery, Light Armor and had Restoration, Smithing and Enchanting to become fully dependant on his skill set, but it turns out you can't actually have that until you have reached your full potential in your damage output. So you can't craft any cool stuff until you have Archery or One-Handed maxed otherwise as ChanChan05 described you will just become a Blacksmith or an Enchanter instead of an Archer or Swordsman. This also leads me to believe that there is a correct way of levelling spreading your perks to thin causes you to really struggle where as if you specialise you'll have no problem, for a system that allows you to be the char you wish to be I am sure being punished for the choices I have made. Evidently there are wrong choices.
  21. Thank you all for your support. Really appreciate it. @chanchan05 The way I decided in where to stick my perks was based upon what I enjoyed and what I needed at the time, so if I was taking a huge amount of damage I would put perks into Light Armor to increase it's effectiveness, then I suppose thought I can't buy better Armor (stuck on Leather) why not craft it therefore I spent points in Blacksmithing which in turn gave me an increase in my defences. You are right as maybe I could have been a bit wiser on selecting my perks but however at the time it seemed the sensible thing to do. @ModelV I will get straight into the game and do that immediately just train Archery, I believe it is around 40 just with no perks. Drop Blacksmithing completely? Or just until I have gained an upper hand in offence? Is it worth me actually starting again and doing this as I have spent perks in the wrong skill, to give me a better chance? If I was to re-roll I could better specialise rather than struggling through the game and this way I could essentially avoid grinding skills. @gunslinger32 I believe I play on Adept, I think this is the default setting.
  22. I think I understand now where I have gone wrong. So if I were to say start again and wanted to take Smithing along with Archery and so on, it would be ok to level the Smithing but not actually put any perk points into until I reached a level where my offensive perks were to a good standard? Or would it be better to ignore Smithing completely until my Archery was indeed up. So my real question is; is there a correct way to level up? I guess you can mix all the skills you want together so a Two-Handed stealth class would be viable as long as you levelled it correctly? How would someone go about making a structured levelling plan as not to feel weak in some area's of the game? I suck so hard at RPG's but I just love 'em so much! Oblivion, Skyrim, WoW, Rift, Old Republic, Aion all so much fun but I fail so hard in being good at them. @Deathjam thanks for pointing that out.
  23. With my main build at the moment I am tempted to re-roll, it was my first proper go at the game and it's just incredibly weak against anything. Without proper tactical take downs it's a loss at every battle. It was basically an Assassin wielding daggers and it fails hard.
  24. Right so I will focus my Perks into Offence and Defence rather than crafting from now on, but I don't really have any options. I have taken all I can from Sneak at the moment and all I can from One-Handed and Light Armor and seeing as I wish to use daggers and I don't have any additional damage increase from the perk, I am forced into using swords. I thought the character creation process in Skyrim was supposed to be simple and rewarding for what type of play style you like. I would like to be a dagger wielding Assassin which also could add some Archery for the dragons which never seem to target you just other random mobs in Skyrim. It appears as this can't be done, do I have to wield swords in order to get the most damage out of the One-handed skill? I'm tempted to just re-roll a face roll Heavy Armored, Two Handed Orc and just smash some skulls. Or even re-roll my stealth class and just avoid daggers as it appears they aren't viable. At this point in time the game frustrates me.
  25. All right I'll do my best to get in the right frame of mind. I played Oblivion and it just had such a different feel, I was able to wear light armor and destroy a foe in a straight up fight. I've been mixing my toons up a bit my highest level is 20 and I have Perks in One-Handed, Stealth, Light Armor, Enchanting (which I think Blows they don't appear to be any good using soul trap leaves me defenceless for healing), Blacksmithing and Restoration. I tend to get caught of guard when questing, if an enemy pops out of a hidden location all my perks gear up for preparation or careful tactical take downs from stealth. I would have thought with the skills I would have decent coverage of a well built character, I haven't added Archery into the mix yet and I am planning on doing so but if points were spent here I feel I would lose out elsewhere making my character weaker. Let me put it this way compared to Oblivion where I was a total baller and could handle pretty much any fight, as a dragon born, I feel a little bit underpowered. In cave's if something goes wrong I get spotted and enemies come down on me, I am defenceless. I basically just admit defeat. If it's something I just have to percevere with just until I level up and take the right perks then I will have to do that. Which brings me to a quick question... Under One-Handed the "Bladesman" perk says that Attacks with Swords have an increased chance of doing critical damage, does a dagger fall under this category? Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it. :)
