  1. Hey I should have just tried it first; I got it, it works! Thanks a lot! Path and file name, to save people some time: sound -> fx -> npc -> human -> perk -> npc_human_perk_mrsandman I don't have an audio device atm so I found a series of blank .mp3 files on github and used a free online format converter to change the 1-second-silence.mp3 to .wav
  2. So let me get this straight: I make an empty (or silent?) .wav file (it is .wav) and put it in the Data folder with the same name and path as the Sandman.wav file and when I do Sandman in-game the game will actually return the dud instead? Just to be sure, this will not be a BSA file, it will just be a folder path to a silent .wav with the same name as the real .wav, and this path will be in the Data folder alongside the BSA files?
  3. I hope this is the right place for this post. So I want to get rid of that cartoony sound that plays when you murder someone with the Sandman perk. I searched for a mod, there's one for FO4 called Silent Sandman but nothing for FO3. I also searched for how to edit BSA files before posting here, all I found were people asking about how to edit Bethesda game mods that they have, I couldn't really tell if what they were talking about was relevant to my goal. I got FO3Archive and used it to find the file. I can extract it. But I don't know how to actually delete it from the game, or replace it with a mute audio file, or whatever I have to do. FO3Archive doesn't seem to have any editing or replacement options (like replacing the original "sound" folder with one that is missing the annoying Sandman .wav file). I also found a short list of applications like FO3Archive that deal with BSA but it doesn't seem like they'd be able to edit anything. Any help is appreciated. Edit* I'm using Windows 7 64bit and I have Fallout 3 on Steam
