  1. Other than the "next-gen" update, which can just mean unlocked framerates and higher resolutions, there is no indication that anything other than fishing has been added to the engine.

    The fishing alone will be enough to break SKSE and other mods, and then you just have to have fingers crossed mod authors are still around to update their mods.

  2. You need to re-export from Blender. The mesh inside the 556Casing doesn't even have UVs.

    Also, before exporting from Outfit Studio, uncheck "Sub Index" and "Skinned" in the mesh properties. Non-deforming geometry cannot use these flags. Make sure you also assign a material before exporting or you lose the normals.

    Once exported and you're cleaning up the nif, check that the mesh node has correct flags. The flags you need are the top four. You can see and change flags in the mesh node in Nifskope.

    Thanks I'll check those out. I know I UV Mapped that thing, I'll see if something went wrong exporting it.

     

    Sounds like I totally botched the Outfit Studio portion as well....sigh, why must this be so hard.

  3. So I have made a bunch of HD shell cases and bullets attempting to overhaul the base games ammunition.

     

    Issue is I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a new shell case eject from any of the guns. I've been trying to do it using the 5.56, but everytime I do you just get nothing. You can hear the cases hitting the ground but no meshes are visible.

  4. Trust in anything other than yourself, is a bad tactical choice, In the game or in real life, and 3rd. gen Synths are not bots. They are cyborgs, just like any human with a pacemaker or hearing aid. The Institute is only driven by logic, nothing more. Same psychology as any animal, no emotion, no remorse, no guilt. Only survival.

    That's probably the dumbest things I've read all month.....but it's still early.

  5. To anyone thinking humanity shouldn't have technology - please give away all you have and move on to live in a hut. Some people do it as a lifestyle, others have to and the latter would rather not. And if you think *some* people can be appointed as heralds of tech and preservers of life, I ask thee - what makes them special? What guarantee you have they have or will have your good in mind? Why are you so lacking in hope that you think society should give technology up instead of progressing and advancing, just like any surviving species would?

    So yea, BoS is not right - they're a bunch of semi-religious techno-nuts.

    The Boss doesn't take all technology, just WMDs, things like nukes, the instute, liberty prime, etc.

     

    They're not out in the Commonwealth rounding up all the laser muskets and power armor.

     

    They don't care about that stuff.

    Finaly a relieving message :).

    Modding as in Creation Club mods that are preloaded on to BGS servers that are enabled when you buy them.

     

    Think about it, even on a private server BGS is still hosting all the data. That means 3rd party mods won't work most likely, but BGS will have all the CC mods your heart can desire.

    You cannot, there is no server select and BGS owns all servers.

  8. Father is Shaun. If you change your character's face, Father's face will change along with it. If you look at two different playthroughs, with different looking characters, Father will not appear the same. Sometimes it really is just that simple, and we have to use Occam's razor.

     

    The mystery isn't Father's identity, but rather his motivations.

    Because Bethesda wanted an awesome full on assault with Liberty Prime.

    No it's a nifskop, outfit studio, 3dsmax/blender kind of thing. Assuming you can fix it all without making noticable deformation to either the outfit or the combat armour.

    Is outfit studio editable for this phenomenon?
    How to operate?

     

    You can do it in FO4 Edit, you just need to find any outfit and copy over the bone weights.

     

    On the other hand you could do it in the CK as well. You would need BAE(Bethesda Archive Extractor) FInd the ideal armor you like that closely matches the size of the one you want to edit, so like the Insitute synth outfit as the base bone data for the army uniform. Extract the .ssf from the meshes folder.

     

    Then change the name to match whatever you want, so the synthuniform.ssf/synthuniformf.ssf would be renamed to fatigues.ssf/fatiguesf.ssf. Put the new .ssf into the correct data/meshes/folder, open the CK and open the AA(Armor Addon) of whatever outfit you want to change and click at the bottom import .ssf.

     

    Save and you're done.

    Not possible. Theres no bikini mesh in game and the PS4 doesn't support external assets.

  11. Just keep supporting places like Nexusmods and the modders directly. Avoid supporting the new industry standard of excessive micotransactions. The latest flavor of this in the industry now is the damn loot boxes :( No more leveling up or earning it via playing the game and achievements, nope... you loot it via gamble boxes.

    Supporting the modder would require money to be donated.

     

    Modders get very little for the time and effort spent making mods.

     

    So I can see why really good modders would be enticed by the CC.

  12. Wondering if anyone can help me out with a couple of bugs I just cannot get rid of in my mod Ad Victoriam!

     

    Both appear during the final mission Ad Victoriam! Where you lead the assault on the institute.

     

    First issue is Gavil begins the trek with his basic BLR-4 that I made for BoS soldiers, however once you get past bunker hill he randomly equips a minigun. Now this shouldn't be possible as all instances of that gun were purged from BoS LL and LLI, etc. Yet somehow he still pulls a minigun.

     

    Second issue is once you reach the CIT building there is one random BoS power armor soldier running around with a knife....again, that shouldn't be possible.

     

    Is anyone well versed in the CK...moreso than myself able to give it a look over and see why these two soldiers aren't working right?

    So if for you the fallout Minutemen are the same thing as the real historical Minutemen and that the contents of the game do not matter, forget everything I said.

    Just because Preston and Ronny are always there and there is always "some" minutemen on the radio does not mean it's always the same person and a fulltime Miinutemen. They might be a bit more organized in FO4, have a castle and modern communications.

    The FO4 minutemen are based on the historical Minutemen that is a fact and the Minutemen in FO4 are organized like the original minutemen. A militia + if you like but still just farmers, farmhands, traders, caravan guards, shopowners who come when called upon with no more then a handfull of trained officers to lead them, and afterwards go back to their everyday business, that's what a Militia is and that's what the Minutemen in FO4 are. Whatever Ronny is doing to whip them into shape is no more then some basic training before those men and woman return to their everyday business untill they are called upon.

    Those patrols mean nothing they could simply be minutemen on rotation, serving for a few weeks each year at most.

    And just because they have a gun, does not mean they can use it, owning a gun is nothing close to basic training. It takes hours and hours of training and thousands of rounds to be any good with a gun. During world war 2 it is estimated that it took between 5000 to 50.000 buliits for every combat casualty by trained soldiers. Those numbers have not really gone down. So it's prety safe to assume that some minutemen commonwealther with a gun (beside the fact it's mostly some crude, inacuratly, slapped together pipe riffle), even if he/she grew up with it in a violent environment, is pretty useless. And that they are mostly useless is perfectly reflected in game.

    But, we simply do not know how the FO4 minutemen are really organized but there is enough evidence ingame that they are very close to the original minutemen.

    Just a heads up, you can't take those round counts to heart.

     

    I'm going to keep this laymen.

    Our tactics are designed so one group of soldiers pin down the enemy by firing a bunch at them.

     

    While another group maneuvers to the enemies position to kill them.

     

    That's why it's estimated one kill requires 5,000-50,000 rounds.

     

    It's just how we fight. It's also the most effective way to not lose soldiers ourselves while killing the enemy.

  14. Each time I see things like "the Institue are not evil", "as director you can make them become the good guys", it makes me laugth. It's like say once you become Elder you can make the BoS become the defenders of ghouls and supermutant, and make them happy to share all their technologies with them. It's a pure CHILDISH FAN FICTION.

    But for the problem of not be able to transform the Minutemen in a faction better than Gunner it's a hole in the game mechanic.

    The Minutemen are mostly settlers so why same when I equip all my settlers with good weapons, good armors and power armors they continue to spawn with rags and old laser muskets ? Game mechanic hole.

    After taking over the castle, according to different dialogues, Minutemen receive military trainning. So why they continue to spawn at level 1 ? Game mechanic hole.

    This is true. I've made a better flare gun script and the issue with it is that it uses encminutemen(the level 1 variant) as the chosen spawn and it sets their difficulty to easy.

     

    Same for Minutemen patrols.

     

    The Minutemen remaining weak is literally just a scripting issue within the game and not a lore reason.

    You are wrong. It's in the game - thus it is canon. More importantly, they're a primary faction with an ending (that lines up nearly exactly with two of the other factions). You really can't get more canon then that. They are the "fall back" faction though. In the bizarre chance you upset all of the others - there will always be the Minutemen.Â

    That's my point the Minutemen only exist so that you can finish the game if you tick off the others.

     

    They're not meant to be the faction that wins the war, they're only existence is to not lock you out of beating the game.

     

    They're canon as far as they existed and we're wiped out, but that's it.

     

    I can't see them being the cannon ending in fallout 4.

  16. Commonwealth Minutemen by a country mile. People in Diamond City love ya, and they'll run up and give you presents. DC guards will comment how they wanna join the Minutemen one day. Your Minutemen boys and girls will eat at Power Noodles and casually read Piper's paper by the stores, and everybody will love them for it. You are in tight with both the Brotherhood and Railroad, and have access to their bases and merchants. BOS patrols drop by to say hi, and RR assets like Amari continue to be friends.

    In fact, the Minutemen ending is almost too perfect with very few drawbacks, some players like to have drawbacks and tradeoffs, instead of being a complete everyfaction/everyguild god like in Skyrim.

    I may be wrong but I just can't see the Minutemen being canon.
