So I'm trying my hand at making static mashups using outfit studio, thanks entirely to Elianora's tutorial, but I've run into a bit of a snag. I'm trying to make a weapon display rack but I can't get the little pegs that hold the weapons on to work. Firstly, I obtained a .nif of a single peg by opening the vanilla GunBoard.nif into Outfit Studio and deleting everything else except for a single peg, then saving it as a separate file. Then, I dragged that file back into outfit studio and built my weapon rack, everything seemed fine. But when I loaded up the game the pegs were all bright pink, somehow they lost their texture. Also when I opened the single peg .nif in nifskope it had a bunch of extra data attached to it to do with Laser Rifle parts, and it had no BSShaderTextureSet which i'm assuming is why it has no texture. Basically, I have no idea what I'm doing in nifskope and I was wondering if anybody could help me, let me know what I'm doing wrong and how I could safely make a .nif of a single peg that I can use with my weapon rack.

So I built some stuff in Sanctuary a while ago, then recently deleted it all to start over again. Only problem was Mama Murphy was sat in her chair in one of the buildings, after I deleted it she's still there floating in mid air and there's nothing I can do about it. Any ideas? Is there a console command I can use to bring her back to earth?

i'm sure i ran into somebody in the wasteland trying to sell me a brahmin in my first couple hours playing, i declined at the time but i figured that was a pack brahmin companion type thing. anyone else come across this? it was on the train tracks just south east of tenpines bluff if i recall correctly

yeah /signed, i always thought this too. surely the hand crank negates the need to keep feeding it ammo? the same way you don't need to put new batteries in those wind-up torches you can get

So everyone is (rightly) mad that there are no holstered weapons or weapons on your back when you're not using them, but some people have made the point that there could/would be clipping issues if this feature was implemented, because of the new weapon modding system and all the different variations, and we all know clipping sucks. So, i figured an easy solution. just use the new lowered weapon idle animations? currently, your weapon doesn't show up at all until you "ready" it, by pressing R or right click or whatever. then, if you don't shoot or aim for a few moments, your char lowers the weapon to an idle position, rather than aiming. what i am suggesting is this: if you don't have a weapon equipped then there's nothing in your hands, you use the normal walk/run/idle animations. when you have a weapon equipped it shows up in your hands in the "lowered" position constantly, whether you have it "readied" or not. once you "ready" your weapon, your char brings it up to an aiming position. basically, it would look something like this: not only does it (kind of) solve the problem of no visibly holstered weapons, also it'd give you manual control over whether your weapon is lowered or aimed rather than having to wait a few seconds for your char to lower your gun automatically, which would be useful for RP purposes. i've done some basic modding in the past, but only with the creation kit and never anything to do with changing animations so i really have no idea how to do this or whether it's possible before the creation kit comes out, but i figured i'd post here to see what you guys think and whether any of you can help.

Could someone make a mod that stops dragon attacks happening in Raven Rock? I keep getting CTDs whenever they do. Had a look for a mod that does this or stops dragon attacks in all towns but i couldn't find one.

I'm trying to make my female character (and just my player character, not all female npcs) use the male animations since she is a butch warrior type gal but I can't seem to get it to work and I'm not sure why. First I tried using this mod, loaded up my save and nothing happened, my char was still using the female animations. I tried fast travelling, waiting 24 hours, making a new save to see if maybe that would help but nothing did. I figured there might be something wrong with the mod, so I followed this tutorial and made my own mod in the CK. activated it in NMM, loaded my save and still no effect. I can't work out what's stopping this from working, I don't have many mods installed at all and the only one I have that directly affects my character is Ethereal Elven Overhaul, but I've tried turning that off to no avail. Can anyone help?

My character is a female dark elf that wears heavy armor and uses two handed weapons, so it seems out of character for her to be using the female animations. Is there a way I can make just my player character use male animations, like how some of the female housecarls (eg Lydia) do?

just a small request, could anyone make it so that your torch stays equipped after mining an ore vein? like if you have a shield equipped, it disappears while you do the mining animation and then reappears when you're done. it's kind of a pain in the ass to have to re-equip your torch after every time you mine something.

I think I read somewhere that there is a large portion of vault 21 that exists and is accessible through the service elevator in the corridor behind benny's suite, but you have to use the console to unlock it i think. -

I tried the AttackLeft thing and that didn't work either but was even stranger, when you click it shoots twice, once it just does the animation but doesn't shoot anything like before, and then the second shot acts normally. Very weird. I'll try spotting the difference between then two though and see what I come up with. -

Nope I did that too and it still didn't work -
I'm trying to make a semi-auto assault carbine but I can't get it to work. When I uncheck the "automatic" flag it still plays the shooting animation but it doesn't shoot anything at all. Anybody know how to make this work? I assume its something pretty simple I've just missed.

You need to add them into the levelled lists that the npcs use along with whatever ammo the guns use as well -

How about a Blade Runner quest? It could start with Cliff Briscoe revealing himself as an agent from the commonwealth who is undercover, that would explain why he has That Gun, and he's trying to track down a group of androids who escaped, like Dr Zimmer in FO3. He hires you to track down these androids and retire them, and gives you That Gun and a few leads, and you have to follow the trail of evidence to track them down. They might have infiltrated into some of the factions already in vegas, like one of them might be a member of one of the casino families, one could be posing as an NCR ranger and one could be a Fiend leader or in the Great Khans. Obviously the androids would have to be super tough and hard to kill. I might have a go at making this myself, just thought I'd post it here anyway just in case. edit: Just thought of something else, since in FO3 you were supposed to sympathise with the android and let him go or whatever, it would have to be obvious that these androids were bad guys and had to be stopped. I'm thinking maybe they were tired of being used as servants/slaves and plan to get their revenge on humanity, so they kidnapped the commonwealth's best geneticist with plans to force him to make a virus to wipe out humanity, then they killed a bunch of dudes and stole a vertibird. Then they crashed in the Mojave, and so the first place Cliff sends you to is the wreckage of the vertibird to look for clues, and there you find maybe a holotape, or a body or something that leads you somewhere else, etc etc the investigation begins. -
i've been thinking about having a go at making some new armors by mashing together bits of the vanilla armors, taking a shoulder pad from here and some gloves from there and sticking them onto something else if you know what i mean, and i was just wondering what would be the best program to do this with? and also, if anyone could give me any tips or point me at a tutorial for how i might do this, that'd be great. i'm not looking at making any new meshes, just taking bits from vanilla ones and combining them to make something new.
