    I am to the point now where I have to pick and choose which mods are most important (or compatible) because the game starts to CTD too often. I'm anxiously awaiting the conversion, porting or whatever of my favorite mods to Skyrim SE so I can take advantage of the 64 bit game engine and seriously cut down on the crashes.

    Kerbal Space Program also suffered from 32 bit limit related crashes and the upgrade to a 64 bit game engine was the best thing that ever happened to it.

    Wait Xbone and PS4 are now on 64 bit architectures as well aren't they?
    huh...
    GenRabbit wrote: Yes xbone and PS4 is also 64bit. They are also limited in that sense everything has to run inside 8GB of ram. While we on PC can have 8GB+ of ram on the graphic card alone, and like 16 to 128GB of ram just for the programs.

    Would be an Idea in the new PS4 and XBone to increase ram to 16GB there aswell.

I dig the fact you need money to support the site and that you have adds running to make ends meet, but can't you just cap or shut off the mods for the game causing the heavy traffic and leave the rest of us alone?
    Laptop65 wrote: Oh please, do you think their Enterprise set up is the same as what Google or Microsoft would have? It's very rare the traffic is this high (and if anything it's a great thing that Nexus is getting so much traffic and activity again).

    Have some patience, just because you've paid them to support (which everyone will appreciate) doesn't mean you get 100% uptime from them, no company in the world could meet that expectation.

    Nowhere have they said they shut down mods. Read it again
  4. Found the bugger. It wasen't Fallout, nor NMM nor Win8.1 that was the culprit. It was the steam client. I'm guessing Fallout 4 uses something in Steam client that crashed it. The way I found it was that another game I tried to run, East Tower - kusekei showed the exactly same symptoms.

    So I shut down the Steam client and then started it again. Then Started Fo4 from NMM again and voila it worked.

    Rebooting the computer will not fix it. The steam client must be restarted

  5. So I installed the NMM yesterday and added five mods. Then tested it and run it for a few hours. Today after a reboot I come back and it doesn't work at all. Everytime I start Fallout4 it seems to crash and then it loads the Launcher instead.

    I checked to see if it was something to be found in the "C:\Users\zzzzzzz\Documents\Nexus Mod Manager" folder to see if it was an log file there but it was not, Any idea what went wrong?

    Everything is patched uptodate

    Nothing got changed between yesterday and today.

    A jpg with a virus is a malformed jpg and is in and by itself harmless. The danger lies in the program processing it.
    This was also talked about some time back when it came to mp3s. And the same applied here.

    If the player/viewer stops when the data makes no sence it can't do any damage. And If I remember right in both cases the trick was to get a buffer overun in the player/viewer and then when the program crashed, the code in the mp3/jpg got triggered.
    This nevercaught on, so I don't think you really have to be afraid of that old that angle anymore, as programmers are
    way more aware of technic today than in the Win9x era.

    I haven't googled this but taken it from old memory so its a little diffused. Anyway I think in both cases it was microsoft players/viewers that botched and where attacked. Todays player/viewer from microsoft doesn't have those security glitches.

    If you want to turn the security up a little, in Windows turn of Windows habit of hiding the true extensions of a file. Its the first thing I turn of in Windows everytime I install it.

    To remove "Dragonnbsp;PriestEffect" (Purple smoke and glow eyes on feet)
    1. Download my edited script.
    2. Put "DragonPriestActorScript.pex" into "/Skyrim/Data/Scripts" overwrite the file if you need
    3. Launch Skyrim and load your save file.
    4. Press "`" Key to open the console.
    5. Type "player.addspell 9BCCA" and press the enter / return key.
    6. Press "`" key to close the console and press again to open it up.
    7. Type "player.removespell 9BCCA" and press the enter / return key.
    8. Close the console
    9. Done!
    About the script, I just add some lines which remove effects when the script end. so It will notaffectto the game. But If you want keep the script as clean, backup the original and revert it again.
    -- Scripts what I add --

    Thanks alot, this just saved my day. Excellent work.

  8. I'm one of these out there who love testing out and playing with new mods. Especially the Graphic and followers version. And way to often I see modders use Winzip..(or other zippers using the zip extension)

    Could you guys please drop it?

    Please use Winrar or even better 7-zip. Way to often I see mods mods packaged with winzip, and when I unzip and then 7-zip them they are often 30-60% smaller..

    This is a win win for all of us..

    Smaller size means;

    - shorter upload time to nexus

    - Shorter download times from nexus

    - Lower Bandwith usage for upload, download and Nexus(and bandwith cost money; and it will even help drive Nexus cost down...)

    Some of you might say there is downside to this..

    yes it is... A little bit longer time to compress it(on ultra). But In some cases especially for modders with low upload bandwidth(adsl, adsl+) The time lost package is won on the time used uploading.

    And before you ask. yes 7-zip is free.

  9. 'm trying to make my first installer for the UNP mod since it doesn't have any and I like it a lot. So to make it easier I've started to write one.

    My problem is this error message I get;

    It worked up until where I added variables and the Bikini addon. My problem is that I have no idea how its supposed to be done, and very little tips on the net.

    This is the code so far(most of it is cut'n'paste from other installers)

    For simplicity I've added the link to the code below where the forum formating doesn't make it all to messy

    Any Idea whats wrong?

  10. here is what I found googling on another forum by some 4gForce

    /*

    I'll suppose you know how to open the console ... ( tilde key, beside the 1 )

    "help follower 3" will display follower global variables

    At this point PlayerFollowerCount = 1.00

    "set playerfollowercount to 0" will remove any follower you currently have, but i'm not sure what happens to them ?! Still, you'll be able to take another follower to come with you.

    Hope this helps

    */

    What this does is reset the follower counter, it does not dismiss any npc you have following you.

    you could try it, but save before you do it, so it doesn't wreck your game.

  11. I have much of the same problem, altought for me its closer to 5-10 minutes with playing. And very often my save games can't be loaded again as the game freezes. I have 2 monitors so I always watch Taskamanager to see whats happeing and way to often it loads up and then get stuck.

    Very annoying.

    my mods and its loadorder is as follows;

    PS! I do have UNP installed althought that wont be shown here.
