  1. Perhaps, they employed new people to replace the old. It's easy to imagine some young one, not very smart but full of enthusiasm. And to show his enthusiasm and how he is progressive before his bosses, he presents himself as an inventor! He tells them smth like, 'Hey, it's a thing of the past, we should move forward, no one can stop the change. Look, X, Y, and Z (influencers) have already done that, why can't we be as good as them?' And out-of-touch bosses could think, 'Hmm. There's smth in this guy's arguments. He's young, must be responsive to how life changes, etc.' And voilĂ , catch some new, shiny... s#*!, yeah, but hey: it's new and shiny. Also... Seems nature doesn't tolerate perfection. Saber-toothed cats, they were on top of the food chain, and what? Beautiful cars, sophisticated architecture, movies with people that act. Phones with buttons. Sites that are pleasant to use. By some reason, all of that has a short life. No idea why ugliness is more viable. May be it's like driving across hills: you are either moving up or down, but it's only a moment when you're on top of the hill. But it's a strange explanation for global things, though. By the way, these huge empty spaces on the new UI. I doubt they are without a reason. Somewhere, some ads are longing for them. Will come with the future updates? Well, that'd be a pinnacle of trendiness, to make Nexus look like a porn site or, say, a russian e-mail page almost eaten by propaganda.
  2. That's the essence of living in society when 40% (or 20/5/1) decide what the other 60% to do. And it seems the market decided that everyone should end by buying a bloody buttonless demon and connecting it to a large monitor, a mouse, and a keyboard to emulate a normal computer. For the benefit of one's eyes at least. Or... may be now is a good point to say goodbye to mods.
  3. Agree. Multiple damns to those who shitted that UI out. It's a torture rather than UI. 'Improve your website experience when browsing or searching for content' - you improved it to the extent it's impossible to continue using the site now. Thank you a lot, deeply unrespected team, I wish you burn in hell as soon and as long as possible. Preferable death for you would be by overdosing of plastic, smartphones, and high technological s#*!. Damn I hate those who think that if smth hasn't been updated for long time it means that smth outdated. If smth's perfect, it mustn't be touched. A-t a-l-l. All those scum for whom the constant changing of things is the sense of their lives. So many good sites were murdered because of that 'Oh, it is so not fashionable, not modern, no one does so anymore...' Of course, if that trash was made by a human. Coders generally are lazy asses and increasingly rely on AI. Some day the bastards will return the old but... They'll present it like smth new! Deep inside they know they cannot make anything good, and that is the reason why they try be usefull so desperately... Or maybe their pay is low, and that's why they practice sabotage they call progress. Also, this is double standards: a PC version? No, never heard of. Everything that is done today is done for human apps / walking smart-wanna-be-phones. No more words, just a screenshot. Look at it: it's fashionable, it's modern, it's progress.
