  1. Hi guys, Having trouble with my 4GB Asus STRIX GTX 970 and the 3.5gb allocated VRAM. Apparently, I've been reading in many different forums that there is actually 3.5GB instead of actually 4gb. I know this problem has been around for a while, but I guess I wasn't playing Skyrim at the time this issue was brought about. I'm constantly getting extremely low framerates when the VRAM usage goes above 3.5gb when running Skyrim (and any other game for that matter). I'm running Skyrim on ultra with Project ENB and plenty of texture mods in 1080p. The memory patch (SSME) works fine because all of my crashes are not related to going over the 512mb initial block limit. It's defnitely my VRAM usage going over 3.5 GB so...(also not using many 4k textures, mostly 2k and I used to have this thing stable with the same mods a while ago but something happened...also my windows 10 DVR thing is disabled too so that fix is already covered). Is there any way to regulate the amount of VRAM usage to 3.5 GB in settings somewhere? The enblocal.ini setting "VideoMemorySizeMb=..." doesn't seem to work correctly for me when I disable the autodetect video memory size line in the enblocal.ini. I need some help with this. (used to think 10240 was fine but my VRAM usage always goes above 3.5GB outdoors) Thanks, System Specs = i5 2500k overclocked, 4GB GTX 970, 8GB RAM, running on 1080p monitor.
  2. Hi folks, I have been playing my heavily modded Skyrim for a few years now. Just recently got back into it this past week. Reinstalled the entire game and all of my mods...yeah that was a headache and a half. Anyways, I started a new playthrough and am at level 5 now. I have a downloaded city mod called Ebonvale which I used a lot and as my homebase (check it out, great mod but it conflicts with the Legend of the Eagle's Nest mod if you want to check it out. I am in the city area outside and keep crashing after loading the savegame (also happens in different locations, even in the beginning in the woods before I got to Riverwood and from my old savegames of my previous level 56 playthrough). I'll be playing for anywhere from 2 seconds to a minute and it crashes. I run Project Enb, a bunch of 2k & 4k texture mods, and a bunch of armor/weapon/follower/quests/gameplay changes/fixes/etc. you name it (at 220 plugins in NMM). I have already fixed the startup memory patch editor thing with the 512mb initial allocation block. I check the Memory Blocks Log text file every time it crashes and it isn't even reaching the max 512mb ever during these specific crashes so the overload of that memory isn't the problem. I have a 4GB GTX 970 and 8GB RAM and a i5 2500k overclocked processor so my system can handle a good amount. (memory set to 10240mb in the enb .ini file) No errors in LOOT and it will run sometimes for a half hour to an hour an a half when playing but sometimes it just crashes before I can even play 5 seconds after the save loads. Given this info about my setup and problems here, can anyone help me figure out how to solve this crashing issue? I usually can figure it out on my own given I have been modding my Skyrim for a few years now but I can't figure this one out. I appreciate any help. Thanks,
  3. Hi folks, I am a huge A Song of Ice & Fire / Game of Thrones fan and believe it's one of the best tales/shows ever created. Surprised more mods haven't been made for the series in Skyrim...maybe in TES VI?? Well, anyways I still love playing my heavily modded Skyrim to this day. I would love to see if modders could create the armor that the Night King and his buddies wear on the TV show...or even make a whole entire follower based on how he looks in the show...that is...like a complete evil badass. Well, there you have it; it's officially on my mod wish-list. Best,
  4. Recently noticed that looking at my character in front of fires in-game that are great for screenshots, the body armor on my character doesn't cast a shadow onto the skin of my character at all. It kind of looks unnatural / unrealistic with Project ENB running; it almost looks like there's no depth to the armor my character is wearing. Is there a setting / ini tweak I can do to make this happen? Some of my favorite armors that my character wears all the time would look that much better if they cast a slight shadow on my character's skin.
  5. I downloaded a follower mod and want to use her face for my character in my next play-through. Is there any way to use to face data and textures in the data folders and make them work as my characters' face? I have Creation Kit for sure, and was wondering if anyone has done this before.
  6. Thanks guys, I finally fixed it. Running for hours without crashes. Get one every 5 to 6 hours of gameplay.
  7. So I've been playing and using modded Skyrim for about a year now. Just got new Asus STRIX GTX 970 card and it has been working flawlessly. Love that 4GB for Skyrim modding and it crushes Project ENB at 60fps. Anyways I use Project ENB, the realistic version, and I have about 230 mods in my load order - yes I'm a texture pack, armor, and weapon junkie on top of a bunch of quest mods and follower mods and whatever else you can think of, I probably have it. I game on a 1080p monitor, an i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz, 7200rpm HDD, 8GB 1600MHz RAM, and a ASRock Extreme3 Gen3. So I have been struggling with the infinite load screens and the freezing when I fast travel to Riften / Whiterun / Falkreath / about to start fighting a dragon / basically anywhere that loads a lot of textures and stuff. I HAVE LOOT, I HAVE NO ERRORS I'M NOT THAT STUPID (although ehh, maybe with this whole ENB / memory stuff because I just can't figure it out). I do have 39 warnings though, 20 of which I could probably fix if I knew how. So I have ENBSeries, the latest version of course. When I run Skyrim Performance monitor, I get a lot of VRAM usage, almost 3.5 GB a lot of the time, and about 800MB-1000MB usage on the RAM. The ENBHost.exe uses about 1.5-2GB when in Riften / Whiterun which is usually what causes my freezing / infinite load screens when traveling back and forth to each of these towns. I integrated the SKSE.ini into my game folder and it's managing the initial heap dump load thing is set to 512mb and the second is set to the standard 256mb; still get crashing, freezing, and infinite loads. I uninstalled Skyrim Flora Overhaul v2.0+; still get crashing and freezing and infinite loads. My enblocal.ini section with the reservedmemory and videomemory section looks like this: [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseReservedMemorySizeMb=512EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=falseVideoMemorySizeMb=8192 // VRAM + RAM - 2048 (even though my system has 8gb RAM + 4gb VRAM --> have looked up a lot of articles about this, can't figure it out)EnableCompression=trueAutodetectVideoMemorySize=false No matter what I change the VideoMemorySizeMb= to, 3072/4096/6144/8192/10240, the game ALWAYS freezes and infinite loads when fast traveling to Riften / Whiterun / outside of these two, or when a dragon comes up and bullies me with some fireballs or whatever it may be. I have tried a lot of things and nothing seems to work so I am looking for some input from others, especially those who have a heavily modded game running an ENB. Can someone PLEASE help me with what I'm doing wrong and how I may go about fixing this annoying issue? I just wanna play freakin' Skyrim with no freezes or infinite load screens; it's getting so annoying. Oh yeah, and I don't use more than 1 follower at a time, it's not like I have a whole regiment of 4k followers at my back haha, sometimes I don't even use followers and yea, still issues. AND, I haven't chagned uGridsToLoad=5.
