At least one mod already exists to add Boston PD uniforms (and I think they look pretty good on Diamond City Security). How about a mod to add Boston Fire Department helmets and turnout gear? A black Cairns New Yorker leather helmet with a Boston FD shield of the modder's choice would be a good-looking headgear, especially with a bit of Fallout-style wear & tear on it. http://image1.lilter.net/2012/5/31/0/380441444907-4fc7d57566750.JPG A black turnout coat with Boston's "BFD" on the back would go nicely with it. This being Fallout, it should probably be an old-style knee-length coat for that 1950s aesthetic. It could probably use just about any vanilla pants for the lower body, or if somebody really wants to, maybe model the roll-up "Chicago boots" that were made to be worn with a long turnout coat. Not sure about armor slots; combat armor would probably fit over the upper body without clipping, not sure about leather armor pieces. Opposite problem for the lower body: leather leg armor would probably go fine underneath it, but combat armor and other large pieces would probably clip. I'm loving Fallout 4's weapon modding system, but I'd also like to get some real-world guns there. Obviously it'll take some additional work to take full advantage of the mod system. It's true that the title is a nod to The Siege of Firebase Gloria (kudos for recognizing it) and Zulu, but I can't promise whether or not specific scenes will be adapted. Some of the characters and themes will definitely show up, though. It's also going to be heavily influenced by literature dealing with WWI and the Vietnam War, particularly Storm of Steel, The Things they Carried, and Matterhorn, just to name a few. If you have even a faint interest in either one of those conflicts (and the works they've inspired), you'll be seeing references left and right. :wink: Thanks for the support - I should be resuming work on FBZ once I get Russell patched up. The title and general plot seem like an homage to "The Siege of Firebase Gloria," and I recall the best scene from that movie, where the whining embedded reporter objects to being handed a rifle, saying "Hey man, you can't do this! I'm a f*#@ing civilian!" To which R. Lee Ermey smiles and replies, "Yeah, well you just got f*#@ing drafted, sweetheart!" Is there any chance we might see a similar event in Firebase Zulu?

Had an idea for a unique M-1 Garand from the 20th Century Weapons mod. Unfortunately, I never could figure out how to make a mod on my own--I have a hard enough time figuring out how to install a mod made by somebody who actually knows what they're doing (pathetic, I know). Anyway, it would have slightly better stats and a somewhat tragic backstory. It would also have a slightly-modified texture with a certain young woman's name carved into the stock. If anybody is interested in taking on this project, let me know.
