  1. Power Packs appear automatically if you're wearing Power Armour and don't have a weapon on your back. The Tesla one is two green canisters, this cut-item obviously was the previous version of the current one. All power packs are equipped by default and non-playable (i.e not world objects)

Dunno why you would want this item in-game. It would clip horribly with your gun.

  2. Not noticing gas leaks. The amount of times I've walked into one, with Flamer at hand, and got seriously singed.

Throwing mines down whilst being chased by an Albino Radscorpion. Mines did more damage to me, and crippled both legs, meaning it became faster than me.

And finally, believing that the Enclave were the good guys and the Brotherhood were the bad guys for 75% of my first playthrough.

  3. It's really hard for me to properly play as a 'Evil' character. My friends and pretty much everyone I know who plays F3 always plays as Evil or Neutral, but I usually stick to Good.

It's definetely good the Beth kept the F1/2 Karma system in, so we have the choice of being Good or Evil.

  4. Unfortunately, I am pretty much at the level you're at right now, but what I can do is point some useful tools out;

1 - Blender, a free 3D modelling program. 3DS Max & Maya are easier, but you have to buy those. The link should take you to the FO3Nexus Blender page, which is far more useful than I could be.

2 - If you have NifSkope you can tell the program to generate a texture for you. It's blank, but it tells you where everything should go. See Attachments. As far as I know, this can only be done if no texture is currently assigned to the mesh, e.g. it's completely white.

I hope this will help you until someone with true knowledge will come along and help you.

Oh, and BTW, none of your links work.

  5. Hate to be a killjoy, but this is going really off topic. It's clear there are differing opinions as to whether or not Britain is part of Europe, and I don't think anyone's going to agree anytime soon. Plus the topic seems to be steering into Politics, in which no-one agrees anyway.

imperialforce does have a point, although there are conflicting opinions on what really happened. It does make sense that, Britain being an ally of America and having nuclear arms, would have somehow got involved in the war. Hell, everyone has ties to other countries, so it would also make sense if world war occured just from the US and China fighting.

But, like I said before, I'm just gonna use artistic license and pick a patch of Britain that wasn't likely to be a target of nuclear weapons, somewhere remote and unthreatening. A bit like Point Lookout, in a sense.

  6. There's a lot more minor bugs in The Pitt, most of which don't really affect gameplay. I know there's a skip in the Steelyard area which will trap the player if jumped into.

The flamer problem looks like a visual glitch, and probably won't happen next time you play FO3. On the Xbox I had a visual glitch where part of the sky was pure dark grey and slowed the FPS down to a crawl - but it went when I turned the console off and on again.

As for turning on the floodlights, you need to do that if you're helping Werner for the last quest, it seems like Ashur being alive is a result of you skipping too far ahead in the storyline. They should have made it so you can't do this, but really this wouldn't be a problem if you don't mess with the terminal before you needed to. Wouldn't call it a bug, more of something they forgot to block early on.

  7. From the Vault Wiki :

"The European Commonwealth is the Fallout equivalent of the real-world European Union integrated into one state-like entity (although it is not known which European states were its members; the only confirmed member was the United Kingdom). In 2052 Europe was dependent on oil exports from the Middle East and responded to rising oil prices with military action, starting the Resource Wars. It suggests that unlike today's EU, the EC had a military power. Some time after the war ended, as the Middle Eastern oil fields went dry in 2060, the European Commonwealth dissolved into quarreling nation states fighting for the remaining resources. "

BTW, if anyone got confused, I was asking about Britain in the Fallout world, not the real world. It seems pretty clear from this quote that Fallout-Europe wasn't part of the US-China war, and so probably wasn't hit by nuclear weapons.

The main reason I asked about Post-War Britain was that I'm planning a mod which will let you travel to Post-War Britain. I wanted to know if my knowlegde of Post-war Britain was right or wrong, since I was planning on creating Cities reclaimed by nature - choked with vegetation. From the sounds of it, the Fallout dev's have left lots of room for artistic license, which is always good.

Thanks for all the replies.

The chance that at least Ireland wasn't hit too hard is very high, iirc Moriarty came from there.

    lol, Post-War Guiness!

  8. england IS not a part of Europe its just a cop out, we dont know what happed to england
FYI, last time I checked, my country is part of Europe.

Thanks Klarim, I must have missed that section on the Wiki. Still, that still leaves artistic license for my idea.

  9. I'm not sure if this is in the right area. Sorry if it isn't.

I was wondering, does anyone actually know what happened to Britain post-war? Obviously we know what happened to America, and we can guess what happened to China, but from what I've read up on, Britain and other european countries weren't involved with the war. An educated guess would be that Britain wasn't hit by Nuclear war, but with the collapse of the two major world superpowers, I'm guessing civil war and total anarchy would spread pretty fast post-war. That, and the economic crisis that fueled the war in the first place wouldn't help...

  10. I'd probably go back to when the Earth was created, so we could all finally figure out what actually happened. Knowing my luck we'd probably end up being some space-giants lost marble, but it would still be fun to answer that long-standing question.

Other than that, I'd destroy it. Anything you do in the past could seriously mess up the future, and then everything would be completely confusing.

  11. I'd have to say it would depend heavily on where they're fighting. If was a jungle, Predator hands down. But, if it was a dusty planet, Boba probably would win. Even saying that, my votes still on Predator, he's just pure awesome. Love the wrist blades.
  12. I don't think the amount of 12-year old Americans on Xbox Live helps the general opinion. Quite a lot of my friends dislike Americans due to the amount of times "Oh my god, do you know the queen?" has been said on Xbox Live. Me personally, I don't think Americans are stupid, but it's hard to keep that opinion when you're being insulted over Xbox Live by an 11-year old American because you shot him.
  13. Hi, the name's Rob. I'm Engilsh, currently doing an Art & Design course at college. Besides Art, I enjoy creating simple mods. I first started with TES3:Morrowind, then moved up to Oblivion, and now FO3. I've been a member of TESNexus and FO3Nexus for a while now, but it was a different account.

Apologies in advance if there's a user named Lionheart already, I like the name because of Richard III, but it's not all that original.

ATM I'm playing Fo3 purely on Xbox, hopefully I should have my PC fixed by Christmas so I can start work on a project.

  14. I have to agree with puddington, the fact that Fallout is set 200 years in the future allows many 'un-realistic' elements to make sense. Most likely, like he said, bottlecaps were left behind by scavegers and survivors post-war.

Maybe this is why they chose not to use bottlecaps in Fallout 2, instead real-world money.

  15. With DLC like Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, you can only play their quests through once, though you can return to The Pitt afterwards. I read somewhere in an interview that Fallout 3 was intended to be played multiple times - in other words, you won't do everything the first time around. I'm on my fourth playthrough on Xbox (having PC problems), and I'm still finding new things.

The first thing I would recommend is not to do what I did with Oblivion, which is to download mods before you've finish the game. Essentially, I ruined my game by having too many unfair or non-realistic items.

Secondly, I would recommmend against the Swift Learner and Here and Now perks. They sound useful, but essentially they're worthless because of the level cap.

Thirdly, it's hard to know who's essential to a quest and who's not. Generally, my rule is - if their individualy named, leave them alone. My last piece of advice is to not sell any rare or unusual items straight away. For Example, Nuka-Cola Quantums are needed for a side-quest, so saving them is a good idea.

  16. I originally had Fallout 3 on Xbox 360, and got it for PC when I discovered it had a editor like Oblivion. Oblivion was a dream to mod, and seeing as FO3 is my favourite game, I couldn't wait to start creating custom content for it. But yeah, like Oblivion, FO3 is better on the PC. I don't know why, but I've played both Bethesda titles and their both better on PC.
