But recent versions of IE don't allow ActiveX components to be run automatically. And rogue websites will find a way to circumvent any browser you use, since all browsers allow popups (by default) and allow downloading of executables.
Also, IT teams don't allow Firefox or Chrome, since it is easier to provide tech support for IE, and despite all their security advantages, they are still considered third-party software.
