  1. Situation 1) Yes, it's a problem others have faced before. There are a few fixes. The one I'd recommend is using New Vegas Stutter Remover. Install that, launch the game once, quit. Then go to the NVAC installation folder (Data/NVSE/plugins). There, you'll find a file called sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.ini. Open it up, and look for bFastExit line; it will be like the 7th or 8th line. It should be marked "bFastExit = 1" by default, but if the value is 0, change it to 1. This should fix any crash on exit issues you have. Situation 2) Would need to look at your load order to confirm what mods (if any) are causing your game to go kaput. The save thing sounds painful. But then, default save system is pretty buggy. Switch to using CASM. Next, I'd suggest learning how to use FNVEdit. it is actually pretty easy to use, and well worth the 30 minute investment you have to make to figure out how to detect errors, make patches to fix issues, etc.
  2. Someone's already done this, and rather extensively at that: Vault Girl Icons. Works as a replacer for the default Vault Boy icons.
  3. Missed this earlier: I just noticed you don't have the SOMEGUYSERIES.esm listed in that load order. That could be what's causing the crash, because both part I and II of NVBounties require that file. Here's the link. BOSS and LOOT are load order sorting tools. BOSS = Better Oblivion Sorting Software, and LOOT = Load Order Optimisation Tool. Take a look at this video by Gopher; it explains the basics of load orders and how to use BOSS/LOOT to sort them out.
  4. You've got some ESP files loading before ESMs, which I'd guess is what is causing CTDs. Move the PN-Rebalance and Cyberware ESPs and the Willow ESP down below NevadaSkies.esm. Or just use BOSS/LOOT to sort it out.
  5. Didn't look at the time-stamps on the previous posts, did you, sonny Jim?
  6. This might help; The 3rd Type's icon guide.
  7. These mods modify the Mojave by increasing spawns, adding enemies, locations, other NPCs, etc. IWS - Increased Wasteland Spawns: Does what it says on the cover. Factions Reloaded - Raiders: Multiplies existing raiders (Fiends included) and adds some new ones. A World of Pain - Very cool mod, adds several places to explore, tonnes of enemies (mostly vanilla, though there are a new factions) to fight through. I personally like dragbody's Legion and NCR overhaul mods; the vanilla versions of these factions get stale rather quickly. They don't spawn additional troops, but reworks the existing ones to look more impressive. NPCs Travel adds a bunch of NPCs to the wasteland, who wander from place to place, have stuff to trade, and so on.
  8. Have you downloaded and installed the MCM Bugfix? Check the MCM download page.
  9. This probably doesn't have anything to do with your PC specs. The game engine has a limited ability to handle mods. You seem to be hitting the ceiling (I try to keep the number of mods below 140 on mine, beyond which it behaves weirdly). I'd suggest making a more radical merged patch than the one you have.
  10. Look up Project Ultimatum. It changes the way enemies behave (to a certain extent). For damage changes, look into Realistic Battle and Dynamic Combat, or Puce Moose Tweaks. There's any mods that tweak the damage values (including damage received by the PC). For major overhauls, look into Project Nevada, Arwen's Realism Tweaks, and so on. WMX and EVE are also great additions. These four mods in tandem really revitalise the entire game.
  11. You know that you can turn off hardcore mode in the "Gamplay" section of the "Options" menu, right? Unless you mean something else?
  12. HD Hi-Res World View Weapon Textures Does a nice job of improving melee weapon textures.
  13. Only one I can think of is this: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45111/?
  14. nivea is right, the clothes are from "Wasteland ClothCollection" by alex3474. You could Google it to see if it is still up somewhere else.
  15. What you want to do is to make sure to export your NIF to the data folder where you game is installed, with all the textures already in place. For example, you make an armour called newarmour1. You have textures for newarmour1, called newarmour1.dds and newarmour1_n.dds, which you place in a folder called MyNewArmour: that is, data/textures/armor/MyNewArmour Copy these paths into your new armour model in Blender. Export into the data/meshes folder, wherever you like. Model should show up in-game that way.
  16. Are you using the steam version? Try this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55061/? If you're also running the NVSE, go to their site and download the 4gb enabled NVSE launcher.
  17. NPCs consume ammo. I believe there's a PN version too. Same author.
  18. One of LostRider's pose pack shots, huh? That would make those Fallout 3 clothing/armour mods. Not sure if there are NV equivalents. Anyway, that top looks like a black re-colour of the "Safari" outfit from dimon99's clothes mod. The trousers and belt (the outer one, anyway) are likely from either the "Wasteland Scout" mod or the "Female Mysterious Stranger" mod (the thong she has one is likely from this mod too). Even the trousers look like they might've been re-coloured or re-textured. Not sure if those are all LR's personal modification, or if they're up on the Nexus (they might be, for all I know; it's been a while since I've played the FO3). The holster is likely from any of the multiple holster mods available. There might be some TailorMaid accessories in there (gloves, goggles, knee-pads). Couldn't really tell you about the second inner belt buckle, but it looks familiar; think it's from a mod with latex clothing or something. Hope this helps.
  19. Ah, thanks for the response! When you say I should use the vanilla body, do you mean I need to use the stock game model, or the vanilla version of the body I've made the armour for (in this case, the Type 3 body)? Second, I have been using the shader settings recommended by the guides I linked; http://i.imgur.com/Z5EN9td.jpg Clicking "cloth" doesn't appear to change those, so I pressume they already match the cloth preset?
  20. As the title says, the mash-up I've made is invisible in-game. It is, however, visible and fully textured in both Nifskope and the GECK. Since I'm very new to this modding thing, I suppose I can't be sure I haven't gone wrong somewhere. I have, however, triple-checked the steps, Googled anything missing from instructions, etc. But I haven't managed to get the armour to show up in game. The armour itself is a combination of NCR civilian armour, combat armour, and a bandolier + boots from the tailor-maid mod, all of which have been morphed to fit the Type3 body; so basically, it uses stock textures, all of which I've extracted, placed in their own folder; also set it up to use the right body textures, set custom paths for the armour bits through Nifskope, all that jazz. As I noted, it shows up in Nifskope's rendering window just fine, and in the GECK too. When I equip it in game... nothing. The tutorials I've been following are listed below: Creating Armor Mashups in Fallout 3 with Blender Creating an armour for Fallout, Parts 1 & 2 Tools (as suggested by Nif Scripts): Blender Nif Scripts 2.5.9 Blender 2.49B PyFFI 2.1.11 Python 2.6.6 Nifskope 1.3.3 I'm using a stock skeleton.nif, as well as the very same import and export settings suggested by the tutorials. I've re-weighted all the armour parts by copying them from Type3 based leather armour conversion, made sure shaders are flagged properly in Nifskope... basically, I've done almost everything suggested in the tutorials, short of make the armour from scratch. There are two things. The first (perhaps obvious) issue is that the tutorials appear to be for Fallout 3, but from what I've gathered, they work for New Vegas too. The second issue is in the Nifskope stage of the 'creating an armour for Fallout" tutorial; there is an instruction to change the "TSpaceFlag" from 240 to 16 for the armour parts. However, that flag doesn't seem to exist in the NiTriShapeData blocks for any of the armour pieces. Now, is this part important? I could be wording my searches wrong, but I can't find much on this through Google. would anyone be kind enough to point out where I've gone wrong? tl;dr - did everything in the linked tutorials, the armour mash-up is visible in Nifskope and GECK, but not in game, would like some help with this. Thanks for reading!
  21. Thank you for the dedication and the patience with which you've maintained these sites over the years. And congratulations.
  22. Well, you can always enter the console (press the tilde key: `) and type "showracemenu" and hit enter. That opens up the character customization menu.
  23. System of a Down... I always loved them. I think I heard them on a demo compilation, and I remember thinking "Wow... not the typical, annoying teen-scream voice that plagues the metal scene nowadays." Think "linkin park" and you'll know what I'm talking about.... Nightwish-Master Passion Greed Yeah, my ex was into Nightwish, but they were not my kind of music. And this isn't an attack on you, Raith, but most Nightwish fans I meet usually say something like "Tarya" to me... Like I'm just supposed to KNOW what that means? Maybe people where I live are just weird. My dad is one of those "Vintage Rock" people from that era... he still, maintains that everyone else stole Rock from Hendrix.
