Thank you for this. my bad Problem resolved. thanks I still can't get the repacking part to work as I mentioned in a post here. I did not see this post before I posted a question I recently asked in Compressing problem for mods in KCD when you say like zip, rar or 7z are you refering to the programs or the compression file as 7z.exe can create zip files. Do you mean compress the mod to a lib.zip and then rename it to modname.pak> Nexus mod help said that it can't be zip, rar, or 7z. I am confused as to what THE actual archive format should be ie, .zip, .7z or .rar and then renamed to .pak? -
hi, My bad problem is resolved! thanks. Firstly, WKpel author of Epona is the best horse has been extremely helpful kudos to him. you should checkout his horse mods. My problem now is how to compress the mod files that I have created called mystinger which I compressed as .zip using 7z..exe and renamed to mystinger.pak. my Test: What I did was to remove all my mods. Then I only placed 2 mods mystinger mod and the base_carry_weight_50000.rar-1220-0-1-1616091868 mod. mystinger <---mod did not seem to work base_carry_weight_50000.rar-1220-0-1-1616091868 <--- worked fine So I unpacked the base_carry_weight_50000.rar-1220-0-1-1616091868 mod and just repacked it, nothing more, using 7z.exe set to zip format and default settings. Then I renamed base_carry_weight_50000.zip as base_carry_weight_50000.pak I ran the game and the game did not recognise the base_carry_weight_50000.pak mod any longer. To make 100% sure I copied my back up of base_carry_weight_50000.pak into the mod folder and ran the game. It worked! so I think that sort of clinches it. It seems that the zip archive that 7z makes is not recognised by the game? I know this was a problem from old but I thought it was fixed. So my question to all you modders out there is how do you compress KCD mod files to make it activate in game. If you use 7z.exe then what settings are required for the zip format. winzip is not a free app and it seems too bloated. Any help would be appreciated. pzaw

hi Can anyone help me with modding M&B Bannerlord? As I said below, without ButterLib all other mods "appear to be working." At lease the game does not crash. Please see attached screen shots. (hope you van see all the Version numbers. I had to reduce it to fit 250k. ) I am using vortex with Nexus launcher. Stream Bannerlord v1.59 (apparently according to the Official Launcher) 1 mod only: Harmony v2.0.4.60 Works fine. 2 mods: Harmony v2.0.4.60 ButterLib V 1.0.24 Crashes and burns no matter the load order. Clear to me that Butter lib is not playing nice. I have posted a message on ButterLib but no one seem to know. Their mods seem to be working as far as I can see. The Author also said in sticky note that it was working. So I am at a lost. What am I doing wrong? Or does it just not work for any of you? regards Pzaw

Using "Unique Landscapes" and "Better Cities"
pzaw replied to erc1971's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
hi, I have installed both BC and UL now I am looking to pache them. I have UL Compatibility Patches Compilation WIZBAIN v12 But I also see other patches on the page. How do I install UL Compatibility Patches Compilation WIZBAIN v12 and what do I install? I am confuesd as to what patch I really need. I did this once before and ended up with all these files that if enabled in TMM Oblivion crashed. Is there a OMOD version? Is ther a conversion from WIZBAIN to OMOD? -
hi I am using Vortex to install my games and Use Loot and Fnis. I have about 150 Mods on Skyrim. (Not SE) I have played with this setup for qite a long time when I was using NMM installer but now I have migrated to Vortex. When I migrated I used a fresh install of Skyrim. I can provide a list of the mods but you have to tell me how I can get it from Vortex. My Problem: Only on females, the body texture looks like washed out skin colour glass. Not shiny though. that murky kind of glass. the "colour" depends on the Female in question. When I get close to the female the body gets broken up into triangles and I can see correct texture on some of these triangles. This often happens but sometimes the testure looks normal. Is it my graphics card not being able to handle 2K testures. How can I find out what mod it causing this effect. I have a screenshot but i cannot upload it.

hi, was just wondering what happened to the English site of Dancing crane Katanas. it said under moderator review for a while now. The German translation is going ok. so why the english one? Does that mean it is off nexus? I would like to use them with my new Vortex and new setup.

hi, I have MEA V1.10 and can't change the weapon damage. I used to use VWexplorer to export the gunstats.ebx file, hex edit it and then import it back again. Ever since the 1.10 patch I havenot been able to use this method. The file size has changed and of course I did account for it but it seill won't work for me in v1.10 Then I try to use Frosty Editor, when I launch the game in Frosty editor it successfully packs up the change (only one under item 30/ parameter 0 which should be Mattlok I damage) I made and runs MEA. But it gets stuck on the progress bar. and will not complete it. It does not progress to the main menu screen. Once I repair the game it works fine. I was able to edit the gunstats before the update. Have they changed it so much that Frostbite is also broken? Is there a manual/tutorial to Frosty. I may be doing something wrong. Do you know where I can get a Excel sheet of the gunstats.ebx.bin for V1.10?

hi, Your comments and discussion appreciated. I don't know but I consider myself a gamer since I am crazy about RPG games but I do not preorder games anymore and I am more careful about running out and buying a newly released game. I have been using mods for a couple of years now. I see that some are easy (by user standards) only due to the hard work that modders on this site and others like LoversLab. It adds hours of game play and learning as well about the game. Kudos to all the modders. I take a lot of trouble in buying the game that is, let’s face it, not that cheap for a lot of us including me. We put up with crashes and quest that never work properly or the graphics that is 2nd rate etc. We wait for patches like good little puppies waiting for their big name companies to make patches so that we can have a decent play through of the game. I for one am trying to play Andromeda currently. I bought Andromeda on the day that it was released but I found it was very buggy. Some of the quests would break - eg. I like to explore and must have done the monument quest in the wrong way or something but when I got to the last monument it would not work. I had to restart the game. This is without any mods as the game just came out. I complained to the company but I went to the Forums to get some solution to my problems. I solute those that mod these games. The big companies think to use us as Gamma testers because they could not be bothered to Bata test or perhaps listen to the comments of Bata testers to fix problems. Anyway, I am finding it harder and harder to keep my mods for different games neat and tidy. This is because different games have to be modded using what I guess to be different techniques. I cannot start to imagine how frustrating it must be for the Mod Authors and those that make these brilliant mod managers and tools to make it all work. So I come to the point of this, I see a lot of people are gamers. We are the companies' customers and not people who go to them cup in hand and say "Oh, please sir. can we have a patch to fix this problem so we can play at least without crashing every 30 minutes and please sir, if you will, may we have another DLC - anything crap will do, sir" I would like to float the idea that those who are prominent in the gaming community should perhaps form a gaming working group say, Nexus MSG Group where it can have a liaison role with the companies to bring us better modding outcomes. I feel the gaming companies see individuals as just unimportant but if we speak as a group we might get them to listen. This group should only be concerned with mods. So for example the group could encourage gaming companies and game engine creators to make their products friendly to modding and incorporate consoles that are more friendly to gamers. There are already some that do this well I think, like Skyrim and Fallout 4. We should let the companies know that we are not going to pre order games that don't meet the basic game requirement: 1. Consoles be gamer friendly. 2. games/engines should allow modding with user content. I don’t know but I would cite, if you ask, Skyrim as the flag ship of aspiration.

hi again The reason I was here earlier is because My computer caught a virus that I could not clean so I had to reinstall windows. I think you know the rest surfice to say that NMM when run had all my mods uninstalled. Fortunately for me I have all my games in my D drive. I m not here to ask for help but to point out a quirky thing with NMM, so I believe anyway. I had not worried about it too much only because it was working at the time somehow by pure luck I suppose. NMM may have a very logical and valid reason for this but in case this is purely because NMM has been evolving until now. I will atttempt to explain the quirk. I had to reinstall the paths for all my games on D: drive. Fallout 4, Skyrim, Oblivion, Witcher 3, Dragon age O. For fallout4, NMM will accept - Virtual install = D:\modded_games\FO4 Now the quirk is that for Dragon Age, NMM will NOT accept - Virtual install = D:\modded_games\DAO but accepts Virtual install = C:\modded_games\DAO I cannot see why that would be the case since all my games are installed on the D: drive and my modsunder d:\modded_games\long_name_of_game I keep all my mods in one place so that in case of emergencies I can go to one place and back up all my mods. This inconsistancy bugs me to no end. Sorry I like to keep things in their boxes , just bugs me. I try not to think about it normally. Just boxes for thought with the new manager. Although it is late merry Xmas and Happy New year!

A request from a once newbie. Late comer here. Just been reading the sad and yet promising news. I tried NMM and then had problems I could not overcome due to my lack of understanding of mods. So I switched to MO. It was good but still had its own problems for the newbie so I came back to NMM. But now with the help of this site I was able to solve and most importantly understand how mods worked. Now I have skyrim modded with 120 mods that work without a crash. But what I really wanted to say was when I was a newbie I experienced a lot trouble because some mod files needed to be placed in the game direectory like ENB and SKSE and others as well because NMM and OM just could not handle these files or the develpoers have not had time to prepare them correctly. This was extremely fustrating to a newbie like myself. So I hope you will give some consideration to the problem of managing files that need to be installed "loosely" in the root or any other folder of the game because it needed to be started for whatever reason with the game or the developer had not completely finished the installation fle to a level that they want. It would be nice to eliminate all "manual installs of loose files" and LEt NMO take full control under some sort of protocol for these files. I am sure there would be a new game and a smart guy here who thought of a mod that everyone else thought impossible (FINIS animation comes to mind). It would be a shame if a newbie had to manually extract and copy files which he does not have a clue about let alone how to do it. Good luck with the NMO17. Can't wait to use it.

In response to post #37053490. #37053520, #37053855, #37053890, #37053980, #37054155, #37054250, #37054555, #37054630, #37054660 are all replies on the same post. Same here an E is displayed but only on mod pages. Using "http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49756" * the lock with a yellow triangle and an info icon (i in a circle) are on the address bar for THIS web page. * on mod pages there is no lock but an info icon when I mouse over it, it says "this website does not supply Identity information" * I can see the main mod pages but I am unable to get a description, post ,images etc on the page - just displays an E. *pressing the green download button gives me a white blank box with a title "an error occured" *Within NMM 61,16 when I try to use endorse by pressing the green thumb it said can't find the ID on nexus. When I put an s like https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49756 the mod pages seem to work but now the lock icon has turned green but the triangle is still there. This may be because I use Avast virus scanner don't know. Anyway NMM still has a problem with 'can't find the ID on nexus' and not sure but it is taking a long time to install a mod. Hope this helps.

hi, I am a newbie I have several annoying problems with Nexus Mod Manager. (V0.523 This is one of them.... I have several AFT mods for followers - 3 in fact. They come with different Zip names. One is the main file, the other is a no damage mod, and no dance mod. The problem that I am having is when I install these it is fine I can see Under the MODs tab the 3 mods. But after I click the circular arrow (I believe it retrieves info for the mod from Nexus) my installed mods get renamed to the same name "AFT Followers Tweak" and loses the original distinct names! The exact same thing happens with Interesting NPC. I believe that this is due to the sane numbers in the file names. For the 2 files that are interesting NPC mods they are v3.08-8429-3-08 for the 3 AFT mods they are 1_01-15524-1-00 , 1_01-15524-1-0 and 1_01-15524-1-01 they are the same except for the last set of numbers. You can see how this causes a serious problem for a newie especially when I have crashes I disable one of them and I don't exactly know which one I am disabling. Is there a way to stop this happening? Its driving me nuts. I read in a post that the mod files can be renamed before installing which I have tried IE, I renamed the ZIP file say "aaaaaa.zip" to "main UNP file aaaaaa.zip" and Installed but the same thing happens. So I tried renaming it after activation but (I can't be sure of this as it is just a passing observation of the behaviour ) this triggers the Manager to download a fresh copy!!!!! I am sure I am being a Newb but is there something I am doing wrong? I like the circular button feature as it lets me know the lateat version but I am thinking it is not worth the hassel. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I tried mod organiser but I did something wrong and Skyrim would crash even with no mods when run from MO. So I gave that up and switched to NMM. I was forced to read the manual instructions and try to follow it. Rewrote it out for my installationso I know how to uninstall it and the patches I need to make it work. then i installed it. seems just fine now. but I rather do it autowith NMM. The problem I don't think is because of NMM. Other large MODs install just fine. Then again I have not been doing mods for long and until now was unsuccessful. Tes Arena? Is this a MOD? I will look it up and see. thank you

hi, When I try and install "ETaC - Complete-13608-13-4" I get an Option window where i choose the options for the MOD. After I do this, when I click on FINISH I get a small pop up failure window that says : The mod was not activated. I have read through all the warnings on the ETaC Nexus Page and its forum and no one mentions this problemor how to install it successfully. On this forum, I have seen several people post similar problems but no answers were forthcoming as far as I can see, From this I gather that the majority of the modders here have no trouble INSTALLING the ETaC mod. I have cleaned, installed and ordered my 87 mods in my game all of shich installed in NMM. So please could one of you guys who has it working properly show me how to install ETaC with NMM. I am reluctant to install it manually, even if I knew how, since it would be near impossible to uninstall it if conflicts occur.

hi, You don't have to. You can use a batch file to run loot so that it will display the report on firefox or crome. See my post on LOOT Report viewer window won't showHope this helps a tiny, tiny little because Nexus has helped me a lot. pzaw
-
hi, Thanks for the link to the old version but I rather use the latest version of Loot with a workround. You can use the newest version still with my son's work around batch file. The following batch commands are the ones I use and it works with Firefox and Crome but of course IE does not work. The batch commends are... C: cd "C:\Program Files\LOOT\" start /wait LOOT.exe "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -url "file:///J:/LOOT/resources/report/report.html?data=J:/yak/Skyrim/ReportData.js" The code above runs loot for convenience so you can use it as per normal without running loot and then the batch file. I named my batch fil loot.bat and run loot this way. ie... 1. run the batch file (loot.bat in my case) containing the above commands. 2. proceed as per normal with loot. Close the blank report and close loot. 3. the batch file then runs your report. The last code in quotes will probably be different from your setup but it can be obtained from the loot blank report itself by 1. run Loot on your computer 2. right click on the blank report 3. goto properties 4. copy the Address (URL) 5. paste it into the lastline of the batch file in place of my "file:///J:/LOOT/resources/report/report.html?data=J:/yak/Skyrim/ReportData.js" This should work for all. Thats it. From now you run loot by running this batch file - Done. Loot can easily do this by calling Firefox or Crome to diaplay the report directly from their code so that it maintains max compatibility with existing computers. They already do this with IE so it is just a matter of calling firefox directly. pzaw

Hi, I have exactly the same problem....I looked for LOOT v0.5 but could not find it. So I am stuck with Loot v0.6 and probably LOOT v0.7 would have the same bug since the website says... Loot FAQ LOOT's report is blank. How do I fix this? https://github.com/loot/loot.github.io/wiki/LOOT-FAQs#loots-report-is-blank-how-do-i-fix-this says that it needs/tested the latest version of IE11 and try enabling JAVA and try a new script...etc. The report is an HTML file with Java scripting. It should run on any browser that runs java. I have win 7 and IE8. I have been able to view it on Firefox and IE8 in win 7. I have tried this on IE 11 and it does not seem to work so may be it requires more testing by me to make it work to say for sure. It is not a permission problem either as I run loot as admin. I believe the problem is in how Loot is passing the data to the Browsers...or its own Browser. Typing the following into my browser shows the report on my win7 IE8 and probably will work on win98 as well. With my setup the URL is... file:///C:/Program%20Files/LOOT/resources/report/report.html?data=C:/Users/nemo/AppData/Local/LOOT/Skyrim/reportdata.js This being the case it should be a simple matter to make LOOT do the same to make it work. I should think. My son (in high school) has quickly made a quick and dirty little program to insert the above text into the default browser and it seems to work as a work around. So I hope this helps all of you. pzaw
