  1. Huh. You would think a DXDIAG might include that - my assumption - but apparently it does not. I'm running a GTX 460M with 1.5 mb of VRAM, currently clocked at 675/1250/1350 (default settings) 0.912v. My FPS before the texture packs and STEP installation was 25-30, and is now stable around the same range, maybe less a few FPS. The major hit I've noticed comes from Unreal Cinema ENB, which is a performance intensive FXAA / ENB configuration. This can hit my FPS by 5, or 10+ if I include SSAO. The intention is to get these options running smoothly at a (more) acceptable frame rate, not to remove them. I can run vanilla fine at 30+ fps. That isn't the point. :P
  2. Not sure if this would be more appropriate in the general PC Gaming / Technical Support forum but I am specifically interested in improving my experience with Skyrim so I decided to post here. I'll keep it brief and to the point. Thank you for anyone who takes the time to read this and lend some suggestions. =) Valuable DXDIAG info: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 4/2/2012, 23:31:21 Machine name: DAD-PC Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110408-1633) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. I've undergone a complete STEP installation and am currently running Unreal Cinema - ENB/FXAA and DoF. I use Script Dragon, SKSE and Skyboost. I don't run with SSAO because it currently hurts my FPS too much. I suspect my bottleneck is the 1.73ghz Proc. Any tips on overclocking for mobile version i7s? I have Nvidia Inspector installed and ready to OC the GPU if that is deemed necessary but could do with some suggested settings, and it would also be nice if someone who knows more than I do can provide me with the right info as to whether its my GPU or Proc that I need to look at. With all of the above, barring SSAO, I run the game at a decent low 20s. Interiors can be better or worse depending on fog and such. The tendency for particle effects, fog, storms, and a high number of NPCs causing my FPS drain seems to indicate a processor weakness. I would really like to be able to jump this FPS up a bit and run the game with SSAO at a minimum of 20-25 fps. Currently I'm around 16 fps with SSAO enabled. I know there are certain mods out there to help deal with vanilla game effects that create laggy situations which I am looking into - mention a few good ones if you know them, but this thread is primarily about increasing my hardware performance. Again thanks for the time and any help you can provide. =)
  3. Replace the TESV and SkyrimLauncher with 1.4 versions. Search Nexusmods for Unreal Cinema - she packages her mod with 1.4.27 exes because of the current conflicts ENB causes with 1.5.
  4. I also experience this problem on a fairly consistent basis and have not been able to nail down the cause. On fresh startups of Skyrim I cannot get it to happen even after I alt-tab / remaximize several times. The cursor always appears in the top left corner and clicking to swing a weapon or cast a spell causes the game to minimize. I can alt-tab right back into it, but this causes certain problems sometimes and also interrupts my game flow. I don't know what "Raptr" is, so there is nothing for me to disable on that end. I assume some kind of mouse tracking program. I run single monitor, usually playing the game maximized. Tried a few different screen settings, resolutions, full screen / semi-full windowed, still screws up for me. Any help would be much appreciated. A bit of info: Running Skyrim 1.4.27 Using Unreal Cinema ENB Script Dragon / SKSE Haven't found any info on those mods that mention this as a known bug, but I figure those are the only ones that 'could' potentially cause something wonky. The rest is just crap like armor textures.
