I'm experiencing almost the same thing except it looks like when the freezing begin the game crash to main menu while the music is still on.

does it occur for male npcs aswell? I have RS children, Sofia follower and some other mods aswell but I can't seem to identify the source of the occuring brown faces but when looking on my mods and this list I suspect rs children but I don't really see how it should be possible since I think the problem lies in the texture folder- facegeom or facetint for both female or male in my case
