  1. Some people appear to just like being on the self righteous soap box, they know it provokes outrage in others.

Your game, your computer, play how you like, if someones blatherin bovine feaces about how you play then smile and nod and let them jibber jabber, after all, an audience is what they are seeking so responding to them is giving them what they want.

  2. It was Oblivion that got me upgrading my old rig left, right and centre and I found that I enjoy tinkering and building em nearly as much as I enjoy playing on them.

I just built another rig yesterday (saw a coolermaster case I liked the look of), which takes me up to 5 in total, so if Skyrim proves to be demanding I won't be worried, much.

Can't see Skyrim being much of a problem really though, it should be much better optimised than Oblivion ever was.

Just wish November wasn't so far off.

  4. It never ceases to amaze me that some people seem to be so concerned about things that others do with their games, especially when it concerns games like Bethesda's offerings which are popular mainly for one reason, the fact that they "are" moddable.

The thing to remember is that its your computer, your game, your enjoyment, so play it how you want it.

The only time you should feel concerned is if you find out that someone is running child porn mods.

Then the correct course of action is to park a pickup truck on their necks while waiting for the police to arrive.

  5. I enjoy a drink and being "merry" is rather pleasant, but I dont enjoy being drunk, and I dont appreciate the company of drunks either.

Why some people think being hammered and off their faces means they had a good night out I'll never know, thankfully.

The reality of being a drunken arse means that the only thing that other people want is to be as far away from you as possible, and that aint exactly what I'd call socialising.

Theres nothing wrong with having a drink, its knowing when to shove a kebab in your face and head for your bed that matters.

  6. M'aiq thinks a new engine is great and whatnot, but is not interested in upgrading his hardware again.

    Seconded.

Oblivion turned me into a feverish upgrader and cost me a fortune.

The new engine needs to be a whopping great V8 that does a hundred miles to the gallon, unlike the super thirsty moped that was the Gamebryo of Oblivion.

  7. The owner isn't a douche, he appears to me to be a very innovative and bright young chap with decent moral standards that has acheived more in his few short years than many will acheive in their lifetimes, not to mention creating the best damn gaming resource on the web.

Wow this is probably the biggest example of brown nosery I have ever seen on this forum. And that is saying a lot.

Looks like someone is looking to make moderator this year.

    Brown nosery, lmao.

My statement isn't fiction, what have you acheived to date?

As for making moderator, lmao again, been there, done that, no thankyou very much, not even for a wage.

  8. If theres Dragons in the game, a new version of Saiden Storms Akatosh Mount would fit right in, and meshes and textures would already be provided by the game.

  9. I'm thinking "yay, new engine" but I'm slightly worried, theres no doubt that Gamebryo needs a pipe, a pair of slippers and a rocking chair by the fire, but Bethesda aren't what I'd call renowned at getting the best out of a game engine.

TES 5 may be problematic in the beginning and definately not one to buy on release day.

  10. Clear admission of tyranny, no respect for others opinions if they conflict with your own.

Yeah, the owner is a douche. We should be allowed to do and say anything we want without repercussion on someone else's site that we don't support in any way, shape or form. Seriously; why should someone be allowed to decide what he does and doesn't want on his site just because he created the site, pays the bills and supports the community.

Power to the people! Fight the machine!

The owner isn't a douche, he appears to me to be a very innovative and bright young chap with decent moral standards that has acheived more in his few short years than many will acheive in their lifetimes, not to mention creating the best damn gaming resource on the web.

Don't give them the satisfaction of winding you up Robin.

My take on the Nazi thing:

No place for it at all in any area of modern day society, much less on a gaming website, millions of dead Jews and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of servicemen and women and grieving mums and dads and sons and daughters whos lives would have been completely different if it weren't for World War 2 will agree with me.

Let us not in ignorance forget the price of Nazism.

  11. I'm confient that it will be even further dumbed down for the instant gratification console kiddies. And require Steam to run. :( They dumbed Oblivion down until it had lost much of what made Morrowind so good.

I hope to be proven wrong, but somehow I have little confidence.

Oh Jeez Slof, in the nicest possible way I hope your wrong, but its all to likely that you'll be right on both points, guess we'll have to wait and see.

  12. Howard wouldn't be drawn on many details about the game, but said the technology was derived from the engine that powered Fallout 3, albeit with significant modifications.

Big fat horrible hairy donkey balls. Not another begging GameByro engine game.

Guess at least our modders won't have to change much!

    Lol

Don't give up hope all together Robin, I've not long completed my first playthough of Larians "The Dragon Knight Saga" that uses Gamebryo and it never crashed once in the whole playthrough, if Larian can get it to behave then surely the awesome Bethesda should be able to.

Or should I not hold my breath on that one.

  13. Okay, I will give it a try then.

Good for you, but be warned (in a good way), the main quest is highly addictive and I was pulling 12 hour gaming sessions untill I had completed it.

As Victoria said, its beautiful, you'll be whacking away at your printscreen with every new vista that opens up to you.

Don't be surprised if you get lower fps than normal Oblivion, theres a lot more detail and stuff going on in the Nehrim worldspace, didn't cause me any problems though.

Follow the install instructions to the letter and if you have questions, heres a link to the English side of the Nehrim forums.

    Above all, have fun.

  14. Well, if the speech is in german I won't play it so no need to post anything else. Thanks for your answers.

Then you lose out, big style.

Like you, I thought speech being in german would bug me to death, but I gave it a try anyway, after about an hour of gameplay I forgot to notice it was in a foreign language and read the subtitles without even thinking about it.

Nehrim itself is a game I would have happily paid full retail for in a shop and I hold the SureAI team in high regard.

It really would be a pity for you to miss out on a great "free" gaming experience like Nehrim because of the spoken language.
