  1. I ended up making the mod from scratch but thanks for the info. :-)
  2. I want to make a version of an existing mod (Skyrim Spells and Powers) for myself that removes everything but one spell (Force Push) and maybe adds it to an existing vendor instead of the one added by the mod, or have the spell book placed somewhere in the world. The mod adds a vendor in Dragonsreach that sells all the spells and judging from the mod files there're also armor and wepons added. I figured that it would be easier to strip everything away from an existing mod than to make a new one from the bottom up. I would appreciate any tips you have. Thanks for your time! 3. I know that there're mods out there that add force spells or spell versions of Unrelenting Force but none that quite work for me. I would love to have a very specific version of that spell. The mod "Unrelenting Force as Spells" by xanthumn comes pretty close. It add's three spells for each level of Unrelenting Force and like the shout you have to charge the stronger versions longer to cast them. I would really like a simpler version of that mod with only one spell that has the push effect of the strongest version (Dah, from Fus - Ro - Dah), but with the more subtle sound and short charge time of the weakest spell (Dah). It doesn't even have to do damage, only the push effect really matters. Ideally it would be purchasable at the alteration spell mage (can't remember which one) in Winterhold and could be an expert or master level spell for balance. "Skyrim Spells And Powers" by WarriorKeKe has a version of the spell I want albeit in a more powerful and flashy version but that mod also has a lot of other stuff that isn't balanced. My version should be as simple as possible. I'm more of a texture mod creator than an advanced modder so I don't know if I can make it myself but if anyone is interested it would be awesome! Or give me some tips as to how to make it. Thanks in advance! 4. I'm trying to put together a minigun mod for myself by combinding some of the best features of existing minigun mods. There're mainly two mods I draw from: Minigun Improvements by Sovietshadow1: For added receivers Minigun Overhaul by The6thMessenger: For sound I liked the simplicity of "Minigun Improvements" which just adds a couple of receivers so you can upgrade the minigun when unlocking each level of the "Gun Nut" skill. I wanted to change the values a bit though and I managed to do that with FO4Edit. "Minigun Overhaul" adds different sounds to each of the three barrel types and I wanted to integrate that into the first mod. I tried going through each section of the mod with FO4Edit to replicate the sounds but it doesn't work ingame. I made a couple of mods back in 2016 but even then I only knew the most basic stuff, and now I have to learn what little I knew from scratch. I can't really say what the problem is because there are many settings in FO4Edit I simply don't understand so I'm doing a lot of guess work. Would this be easier to do with the Creation Kit or what would you recommend? I can send the files I'm working on if that would help. Thanks in advance! - Xero
  5. There seems to be a bug when putting on necromancer clothes. When I equip necromancer robes the guards become hostile. According to the mod auther only the Vigil of Stendarr are hostile to necromancers so that's odd. Furthermore, all city and town guards across Skyrim become hostile even though I've switched back to neutral clothes. Waiting over a week in-game doesn't help either. I tried the same thing with Forsword Armor and they were friendly again as soon as I came back with normal clothes. Didn't need to wait at all. Guards that didn't see me in Forsworn armor didn't attack at all while I escaped. So it seems like there's some kind of bug with necromancer clothes specifically. Maybe it's the mods fault or maybe I have another mod that interferes in some way, I'm not sure. Any idea what the problem is? Unfortunately the message board on the mod page is closed so that's why I'm asking on this forum.
  6. Thanks Shadeybladey, for your thorough reply. I tried loading the earlier save before the guards became hostile and I put on necromancer robes. The guards turned hostile and I ran and switched back to neutral clothing. Even though I waited over a week in-game they still attacked me when going back. I tried the same thing with Forsword Armor and they were friendly again as soon as I came back with normal clothes. Didn't need to wait at all. Guards that didn't see me in Forsworn armor didn't attack at all while escaping. So it seems like there's some kind of bug with necromancer clothes specifically. Maybe it's the mods fault or maybe I have another mod that interferes in some way, I'm not sure. Unfortunately the message board on the mod page is closed. I guess I missed the SE section so I assumed that this was for both Oldrim and SE. I will ask on the other forum.
  7. I'm trying to figure out why all guards are attacking me on sight. It happens on some of the latest saves so I could go back to an earlier one, but I would really like to figure out what went wrong so it doesn't happen again. I've been using the Master of Disguise mod from the start and I've been wearing black mage robes and monk boots since I left Helgen (they're are from the nearby camps before Riverwood and the standing stones). After the first couple of steps in the main mission I left for Windhelm and did some quests on the way (helping Cicero on the road and getting Amren's Sword in a bandit camp). When arriving at Windhelm the guards attacked me. I thought that the black mage robes maybe were necromancer robes but the Whiterun guards never attacked me before. I'm not a vampire and part of neither the Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion. When fast traveling back to Whiterun they attacked me too. I tried a couple of things and came to the conclusion that wearing Stormcloak armor was the only way not to get killed in Windhelm. They would attack me as soon as I but on neutral clothes. I tried loading earlier saves and it was the same with all the saves after i left Whiterun. I even tried doing all the steps I remembered doing after leaving Whiterun and fast traveled back after each step to see if they would attack. They didn't even though I did the same quests as before. For now a will probably go back to the save before they were hostile but I would really like to know what changed for them to attack me. Any ideas? I really appreciate the help. :-) Edit: Hmm, I think I recalled getting attacked by guards on the way to Windhelm, maybe because I put on necromancer boots or robes on for a moment. I can't remember. So I went back to the save before the quards turned hostile, put on necromancer robes and they started attacking me. I ran away, put on the neutral black mage robes and fast traveled to a different town. As soon as the load screen finished the guards attacked me. So apparently all guards in Skyrim know that I wore necromancer robes. According to the mod auther only the Vigil of Stendarr are hostile to necromancers so that's odd. I can accept that it's unrealistic that everyone magically knows that I wore necro robes for two seconds but will they at least stop being hostile at some point?
  8. Would love to see a spell similar to the "Summon Cat Familiar" but with the bear cub you meet in the Hollow Marshes. Maybe the mod could add a dialog option that lets you recruit the bear. I have no idea how difficult it would be to make this mod but it would be awesome. :-)
  9. I just began modding Skyrim SE and wanted to add some better meshes and textures for the characters. I tried UNP with Mature Skin for females and SkySight Skins for males and I liked it. Then I tried out WICO (Windsong Immersive Character Overhaul) and it's even better plus it makes the other mods obsolete. The only problem is that I can't get rid of the neck seams. The mod auther says that all other body mods should be uninstalled before installing WICO, but that doesn't fix the problem for me. I have other mods installed but only the mentioned ones and a hair and eye texture mod are body related, so I'm not sure why the seams are still there. Any thoughts? Another related question. I made a female breton character while using UNP and I really want to keep her. WICO changes the presets so I can't recreate her starting with WICO from scratch but changing to WICO for the existing save game seems to keep the settings as they are and I can even change her features in racemenu without destroying her preset. So somehow her original preset is preserved even though it was removed for WICO's new presets? I would prefer to keep the original presets alongside the new ones but that would probably have to be changed in the .esp, right?
  10. I'm thinking about upgrading to CBBE + face/body textures. Right now I'm using Enhanced Character Edit, Eyes of Beauty and a hairmod. I also use XP32 Skeleton with Dual Sheath Redux, Immersive Animations and FNIS for swords and shield on back. From what I've read RaceMenu seems to be more popular than ECE and also works better with CBBE. My problem is that I can't seem to get the ECE to RaceMenu import to work (it says "failed to import....). I used the the guide (from step 6) in the CharGen mod description, but not the mod itself since the newest ECE has an export function build into it. I've grown very attached to my chracters over the years so keeping the faces intact is my first priority. I tried installing CBBE with my current ECE setup and it works, but a lot of the sliders doesn't seem to have an effect on the CBBE body. Any idea why the import function isn't working in my case? Should I just use ECE with CBBE and change the body in Bodyslide instead of with ECE? Is UNP a better option for ECE users? I was thinking about just leaving Oldrim as it is and modding Skyrim SE with CBBE (when it comes out) instead, but I kind of want to change things up a bit with my old characters. Any ideas are welcome. I'm not that tech-savvy so there's probably a simple reason why the import function doesn't work that I just don't know about. :-)
  11. I Installed Tetrachromatic ENB which looks great, but the interior windows are very bright and very yellow (picture below). The mod auther says that it could be due to a mod that changes interior lighting. I used to have ELFX installed but I uninstalled it because it doesn't work well with Tetrachromatic. Or at least I think it isn't installed anymore. I'll try to explain. I moved the Steam folder to another SSD last week together with all the Nexus mods, but forgot to move the virtual folder. Unfortunately I uninstalled some mods (ELFX, CoT being among them) before moving the virtual folder so NMM didn't remove all files (having the virtual folder on a different drive than the Steam Folder apparently can do that). I then moved the virtual folder and now NMM installs and uninstalls mods just fine, but I had to remove the data files from the "uninstalled" mods manually. I did that to most of the simpler mods, but ELFX has many files so I was afraid to delete the wrong files. So my question is. Even though the ELFX plugin is removed, can the remaining files be the cause of the yellow windows? I don't think that I have other mods that chage interior lighting. I use CLARALUX but that mod changes exterior lighting, doesn't it? I used the "Skyrim Mod Combiner" for a lot of texture mods but I'll have to check if there's anything that could be causing conflict. I hope that anyone has an idea of what could cause the yellow lights. What is the best way to get rid of the leftovers of ELFX? If I download the mod and check which files there are, can I just find and delete these files in the data folder? The game works fine as it is, but I would rather remove alle unused files, especially if they in some way interfere with the ENB or other mods. Thanks in advance! :-) http://i67.tinypic.com/2ir9l4h.jpg Edit: So I found the culprit. It was a glow texture that was amplified by the ENB. Removing it helped. I would still like to hear your thoughts on the best way to remove the unused ELFX files.
  12. I use a fairly cheap Logitech keyboard. I'm not at home right now, so I can't check which model it is.
  13. I forgot to mention that I play on PC, sorry. It's not that I can't change the settings from controller to keyboard. It's when I do it (before loading the game as you've stated) it's only the mouse that works. The keyboard works fine since I'm using it right now and oddly enough I can write the character name when making a new character (when in controller mode), but I can't do anything with the keyboard. Only the mouse works. Really wierd. Edit: I tried changing to mouse/keyboard and the restarted the computer. That doesn't seem to work either.
  14. I play with a controller but wanted to try and change the name of a character with the "enablenamemenu" console command, but my keyboard doesn't work in the game. The only place I can get it to work is when naming a character. The mouse works fine though. Anyone know what the problem could be?
  15. Hi! I tried Dragon Age: Inquisition on PS4 over a year ago but couldn't really get into it. Today I saw a video that showcased some mods and now I really want to play. Here's the video and links to the mods I would like to install: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjYr2T2aQW8 Enhanced Camera: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/1474/?Weapons - No Class Restrictions: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/216/?Armor - No Class Restrictions: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/169/? Alternative options for the no-restrictions-mods:No Class Restrictions on Weapons: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/760/?Armor - No Class Restrictions Remade: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/842/? Regarding installation, both DAI Mod Loader and Mod Manager is mentioned. Are they talking wbout the same program? I would rather install mods using one method/program. I have modded Skyrim and Fallout 4 a lot with Nexus Mod Manager but I have no experience with non-Steam games and other mod managers, so I was hoping to get some advise here. Also, it seems as if some of the mods aren't up to date and doesn't work on the latest versions, according to comments. If someone have tried these mods lately I would very much like to know which one of the mods works best. And if they only work with or without DLC. Thanks in advance! Cheers, Xero
  16. I think this is the video I linked to above? It is a good tutorial, but it didn't work for me. I have to try again.
  17. No, not at all. Since this is my first attempt at making a custom weapon I have to start from scratch learning all the steps, so there could be all sorts of reasons why the first attempt made the game crash. For now I've sticked to the things I know how to do, like creating standalone versions of vanilla armor with my own textures. I'm also comfortable with 3d modelling (Rhino and SketchUp), but all the other stuff I have to learn. In short, I want to use this mod but with my own custom sword. It's a big sword so the animation would have to be changed to a two-handed weapon like the board. Other than that nothing have to be changed really.
  18. You cannot add collision to objects in Blender. Okay, that's good to know. In what program would you typically add collisions to objects? My first try crashed when hovering over the weapon in the pipboy but that was to expected since I'm not really sure what I'm doing. Tried following the steps from this video but obviously it didn't work. I will keep looking and see if I can find any information that can be helpful.
  19. Thank you! Edit: Should I add a collision object in blender?
  20. Actually for all the steps necessary like the tutorial I linked to. If there is one, that is.
  21. I'm trying to create a weapon for Fallout 4. There is a tutorial but it seems to be for an older version of Blender, so it's pretty hard to know exactly what to do when not very familiar with Blender. Here's a link to the tutorial. I modelled the weapon in Rhino and exported it to Blender and I'm now trying to add a uv map. Is there a newer tutorial somewhere? It doesn't matter it it's a video or in text form.
  22. I found a very helpful tutorial on how to convert outfits/armor to CBBE, but I have a small issue. When trying out the outfit in Bodyslide after saving the data in Outfit Studio I was only able to select the two presets I'm currently using (Josie's Preset) not CBBE Curvy, Atheletic and all the others. Anyone have an idea what I did wrong or what I forgot? Thanks in advance!
  23. I actually made it work. By clicking "Edit" world model in the Armor Edit menu, I was able to select Material Swap for the world item.
  24. Okay, I'll have a look and see if I can find it. Thanks!
  25. I made a mod using the CK with a vanilla mesh but with custom textures. I made a material swap and it works fine for the male and female meshes, but the world model (the one you see when dropping the armor or looking at it in the inventory) still has the vanilla texture? How can I change this?
