I use Vortex. I set up a test profile to play around with mods and my load order. When I felt I had everything working together and everything looked good and ran well I copied the test profile to a new one, Cleaned out all the saves and started fresh after 1st doing a "coc riverwood" with no save then returning to the main menu and chose new game with Alt Start and using my character preset began a new game. Having recently started SE and Vortex still unsure about some steps. Was I suppose to disable all the mods in the new profile then enabling them all again before starting? With the Riverwood Forest mod I have a grass layer and a mountain cliff face with a large river running thru it. Looks kind of ... wrong  Fixed. Somehow load order changed. Had my Majestic Mountains loading after the Riverwood Forest changes. Just switched them around. Remembered I added an option to the mountains and reinstalled.

Do you feel that modding is taking too much time ?
ogre51 replied to seweryn's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I played LE for a long time and usually as a hunter. Was already comfortable with most of the mods as I used them before. The rest were new to me so I just used a test profile in Vortex to see if I liked them. I am retired now, so time is all mine. Having moved my Skyrim LE to the SE version it was time to start fresh. New manager, new utilities and many new mods. Been very interesting to build, as to me building a standard mod base is 1/2 the fun, the other 1/2 being the satisfaction of playing it.. I assure you I do not consider myself one of the "skyrim leet crowd" I am just a player who has a vision and am lucky to enjoy a game that has modders wanting to share theirs. Win win. -
thanks for the link. that will get me started. Actually the document crashes my Open Office. Read the mod discussions and the author stated they will offer it in other formats soon. So will wait.

I also was faced with this problem so I just approached it 1 step at a time. How strong is my computer? Medium (This rules out any ENB's and for the most part LoD's) What role am I playing? Hunter (well then armor needs are reduced so Immersive Armors and maybe a few other Light armor mods I enjoy) What world do I want? Tress and immersive scenery, that leads me to trees (chose Simply Bigger Trees/Realistic Aspens), HQ Tree Bark) with various plants and other flora mods added (SFO also) Extra world type mods wanted? The Great Forest of Whiterun Hold, Unique Locations - Riverwood Forest, The Marshlands Weather, Lighting, Grass and Water mods wanted? Vivid Weather, RLO for lighting, Verdosebrom for grass and RW2 for water. Mountains/Landscape? Chose Better Dynamic Majestic Mountains and Vivid Landscapes. Quests/Base Mods to build on? Hunterborn, Hunting in Skyrim World Population (is it empty or full) : Chose OBIS, Populated mods for Cities, Roads, Forts and Caves, Immersive Patrols, Skyt4est Realistic Animals and Predators, Animallica and Bellyaches New Dragon Species What is my home going to be Formal Player Home or not? Chose Campsites in Skyrim and Campsites, Formal base Elysium Estates, Tundra Watch Farms and Leaf Rest Script Heavy mods? No (other than Hunterborn) Followers? I collect Housecarls (bad habit) + a few special personal ports and favorite followers ported to SE already. I use these to populate my base camps usually. All of these are personal choices but I used them as my basics and built up my game on them. I have to admit I had a very good idea of what I wanted and did not want so that helps. Am currently with a stable game of 187 Active mods and 91 Lights. It all kind of grew from there, Once I chose my role, the basic foundation mods, researched and added necessary patches for them I could then expand. The hard part like you mentioned is "Oh a new mod!" lets download it. Hard to avoid. I switched to Vortex when I chose to do SE only, I still download those files I just do not have to play them within my current game so allows me to test them on another profile later. -
Hello I admit I am stumped. I use AddItemMenu, Jaxonz Positioner and More Informative Console as my main tools while in game. I am very happy with them and have no problems with any of them. I play a Hunter/Explorer character and use a mod named Campsites in Skyrim and augment it with another mod named Campsites. I have a total of 187 Active and 91 Light plugins currently. As I explore the land I discover various items/objects that I can use to make that campsite more suitable for my needs/immersion (small boats, fishing poles, drying racks etc). I take a copy of the item, rename it and then later place them. What is stumping me is I am sure there is a way to access these items easier. I will still explore the world of course. I have reviewed as many of the resource mods that I can find on both Nexus Skyrim LE and SE but have not seen them listed. I really have no intentions of modding, just improving things while in game like moving a tree out of a house or adding a bush to a bare area and only in my game. I no longer use the Frostfall/Campfire mods or those mods that require them and am following less script/control heavy mods being improved like Frostbite as alternatives so resources possibly found within those mods requiring F/C could not be used anyway. Some of the items are pelts for floor, pelts for walls, wood stumps for sitting, drying racks with nets...stuff like that. I think most of them are .nif files. Simple things to liven up a camp and give it a purpose other than just a campfire and a group of tents. I have placed followers at a few of my modified camp sites and see very little walking into trees or crossing thru a campfire actions so the room I leave them seems to be working without having to deal with pathing issues. Is there a resource list or way to see what is available and to access it while in game? I have CK and most of the normal utilities (SSEEdit, CAO, BethINI etc) already downloaded. I have reviewed the CK Category:Script Objects and a few other similar files also. Any help, clues or hints would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been :) I add in 2-3 mods per run also, use Additemmenu to review what they add then if they are not it I delete them from the active list. Thanks.

Hello, I have recently begun playing again and forgot which of the many mods I have downloaded contain a "Dagger Belt" that can be equipped on the left thigh. It serves no purpose if I recall other than looking good. I was going thru screenshots especially of Mashup mods and noticed it on a user screenshot. Was curious and hopeful someone could "remind" me what mod it comes from. Thanks in advance. I believe it us Eldreds? mashup. 3rd page, 1st screen, I wanted to include a screen shot of my own but it exceeds the limit of this forum for attaching.

Hello, I just set up a new gaming system, a fresh start. I downloaded all the mods I wanted to play. I did not download Crawl on All Fours mod. However I am always crawling on all fours when I use the Ctrl key. I checked the Settings in the menu, I looked at my load order and other than a few I considered such as Animations Mod which I removed for other reasons and I have used FNIS extensively in almost all my previous playthroughs and never had this occur before though. I have played before with Crawl On All Fours mod, but as I stated this is a brand new computer, I downloaded all files fresh and my directories were clean. I am somewhat stumped. Has anyone experienced this before? Ogre51

It was not Hmm what to wear. I was grasping at straws and remembered the "None" option. I went back to a clean save after exiting the cave from Helgen and used RaceMenu to switch to Lunari. Seems I may have had a possible negative interaction between the Nord Race wth Lunari active. I can unequip as Lunari fine with no CTD. Next game I will again try a Nord female without Lunari loaded and see if different. Thanks. Ogre51

Hello, I have a restarted a playthrough as a Nord Female Hunter/Explorer type. For the 1st time playing so many different characters as I have I am CTD'ing whenever I attempt to unequip the body armor. It does not matter if it is favorited, enchanted, unenchanted, plain, cheap, expensive. I enjoy playing immmersive so when I take a shower, bathe or enter a pool I unequip my gear. The CTD occurs also regardless of being indorrs or outdoors. As for body mods I use UNP, XPS32 skeleton and nude females mod. I have deactivated each and reloaded them to no avail. Kinda stumped. I have recently added a number of mods yet other than this situation gameplay is smooth and "bug" free. In this characters creation I had Racemenu, Race Compatiblity, Lunari race, Race Compatiblity patch , 3 ApacheHair's,(Main, Female and Male) active. I also use Realistic ragdolls, HDT High Heels. I always activate Realistic Ragdolls then redo XPS32 Skeleton as ragdolls overwrites a bunch of stuff. I use EFF as my Follower Control Mod. New mods added for this gameplay are Moonpaths of Elsweyr, AHZ-MoreHUd, FCO-Follower Commentary, Sabre Fur Bags, WiC cloaks(+Cloaks of Skyrim Patch), Sit Anywhere(after CTD started though), Cloaks of Skyrim(+Dawnguard Patch), Inigo, Chesko-Frostfall, HunterBorn(+ Frostfall Patch), Fishing in Skyrim and Camping Kit of the Northern Ranger. I have yet to utilize any resources from these added mods except Hunterborn kill/process procedures. I sort via Loot. I have the latest Loot, Skyui, Skyse installed. The other mods I have been using since it seems forever with no problems, I carefully read all the new additions info pages and much of each of the forums related to the mods. I have all 3 DLC's installed plus the Unoffical Patches associated with them. I have triple checked my plugin order to make certain I have not anything missing. I am getting no error's from Loot and other than this unequip problem (only on my playing toon) the game is performing as I want. Smooth movement, no hitches, good load times etc. I use NMM and keep all my active mods current unless I do not want the upgrade yet. I have 121 active mods currently. MOst of them are standard mods I have used though my games. I gradually add new mods when into my gameplays when starting new. When starting a new game I reinstall Skyrim, clean the cache, Run Loot, Run Steam version to update it, Run Fnis behavior update, and run Skyse as admistrator. This procedure is the same for all my playthroughs. Before I play from a saved point I always clean the cache via Steam, rerun FNIS regardless whether a new mod has been added or not. I take these safeguards as I have a weak computer. It helps keep my current game stable. I am at my wits end, I would pull out my hair but am already bald. PS: I have a strange feeling that the problem is with Hmm what to wear mod. Will try out a hunch later. Ogre51
