It requires more mouse clicks to search for mods now. Rather than just entering into the mods section, entering as many searches as I want, like in the old version, I have to select "mods" from the list EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEARCH. I do not search for anything else on this site. More time spent to achieve the same result as the old system.

Cannot insert steam screenshot as image in bug report section

I know this is sort of a vanilla bug, since it happened with robots, but the companions with O.A.R don't use the vanilla companion system. After dismissing them, 2 of them keep teleporting to me every time I use the institute teleporter, or even some elevators. (Strangely, not virtibird fast travel.) Does anyone know how to fix this?

As far as we know the problem was fixed on 6th March, if you're still having problems you'll need to provide more info. I suspect it may be your browser addons though if you're the only one reporting it. As far as I know, nothing about my browser has changed, before or after. Something about the website has changed. For now, I downloaded and am using Opera just for the nexus. Every other website on the internet works just fine in Firefox. I really hope this is only a temporary problem. That says to be that something in your Firefox setup is preventing the download from starting. Did you try disabling your addons? "Download from starting?" Are you misunderstanding something fundamental here? It's not a downloading problem. Most of the buttons do not work, and the images for each mod page do not display properly anymore.

Any news on when this is going to be fixed? Nexus mods is barely usable right now.

Website login demanding password reset. I like my password
Maniac3020 posted a topic in Site Support
When I went to the nexus this morning, I found I had been logged out, and the login screen had changed. What's more, when I entered my password, I was told I had to enter a new password. I don't want to use a new password, I'm quite happy with my existing password, which is quite strong. Can I please just stick with my existing password? -
Large downloads often fail, forcing restart
Maniac3020 replied to Maniac3020's topic in Site Support
I was originally downloading from the CDN, when I switched to a premium server, it downloaded normally. As for it "going backwards", that's a misnomer. What was likely happening was it was switching from server to server or something, and it "forgot" where the download was, so it moved back to an earlier segment. Like when steam sometimes forgets a game download after a computer crash. -
Large downloads often fail, forcing restart
Maniac3020 replied to Maniac3020's topic in Site Support
Okay, now I'm noticing that download progress is sometimes going BACKWARDS. A download that has 1.5gb downloaded will suddenly have only 500mb downloaded. Again, this is only happening with Nexus. -
Large downloads often fail, forcing restart
Maniac3020 replied to Maniac3020's topic in Site Support
Considering I have, and continue to be able to download much larger files from other websites without problem, I don't see how it could be my ISP. I am not pausing and restarting the download either. -
When downloading large files from the nexus (1GB+), I am often getting the download failed, with a 410 error, and restarting the download either doesn't work, or forces the whole file to be downloaded again. I live in Canada My IP address is 192.199.62.64 My Ping to the Nexus CDN is between 100-170ms I am downloading from https://premium-files.nexus-cdn.com

I loaded up The Nexus for the first time in a while. (Hadn't been modding games for a few months). When the page loads, I almost recoil out of my chair, because what I see is ugly and confusing. Most of the things on the page feel far too big, there's no overall theme. Looking at it, it feels like the ugly windows themes from windows 95, with it's square edges and gray textures. I will be replacing www.nexusmods.com with old.nexusmods.com in my address bar for the foreseeable future. I want to browse mods, not figure out how to use this ugly new interface.

Minutmen patrols follow me everywhere
Maniac3020 replied to Maniac3020's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Okay, I just had a brainwave. I seriously wonder why this did not occur to me sooner. I checked the mod page for "We are the minutemen". I found, amongst the bug reports, this console command: stopquest minflaregun HALLELUJAH! I still don't know if a mod caused it or not, but I DON'T CARE! -
Minutmen patrols follow me everywhere
Maniac3020 replied to Maniac3020's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I unchecked every esp in my load order except for the official DLC and loaded up the game. Suprisingly, while the loading screen took a really long time, it did actually load. And the Minutemen were still following me around. At this point, with that information in hand, coupled with what I've seen on google search about this issue, it really strikes me as a vanilla problem. However, if it is a mod, I don't see how I can fix it, because it still occurs with all mods disabled. -
I have never actually shot the flare gun. The first time I encountered a Minuteman patrol, they started following me everywhere. Now, whenever I encounter a patrol, wherever I am, if I am within their patrolling range, they will follow me everywhere like lost puppies. This started before I even got any mods that could possible affect it, so I'm thinking that some flag in the game got raised, and never lowered. The only thing I have figured out how to do, besides killing them, or getting them killed, is to disable them with the console. Can anyone tell me how to get the minuteman patrols to stop following me, without removing them from the game outright?

In the meantime, can anyone help me with uninstalling/reinstalling snap and build? All I have to go on is the little sidebar blurb in NMM, and it says something about using a holotape to uninstall Snap and Build. But there has never been a snap and build holotape in my inventory. If I try to remove Snap and build without it, my game crashes on the main menu. *edit* Okay, after stepping back from my frustrated state of mind, I realized I had some patches for other mods with snap and build. I disabled those, and I was able to a dirty reinstall of snap and build. After checking all my workshop menus, I now have the dedicated snap and build category back, and none of the other menus are missing either. I hope that snap and build comes back to the nexus, but if it doesn't I am glad I downloaded it only a few days before it disappeared. I like the wooden walls, they're much nicer than the vanilla "shacks", but they still look like they could be built by my settlers. I'm kinda big on roleplaying.
-
I realized, that somewhere along the way, I lost snap n build from my workshop menu, and I'm trying to figure out how to get it back. But all I can find are links to the mods page on Fallout4Nexus, and that page has suddenly been set to hidden. What do I do NOW!? And why is it it hidden!? It's so goddamn frustrating when mod authors do that! It leaves anyone using the mod high and dry!

My power system in The Castle is behaving very strangely. I've got one Large Power Pylon on the wall, connected to a bunch of windmills, that is giving power to most of the fort, with no wires running to anything. 3 laser turrets, 2 missile turrets, on the top of the wall, are all powered, even though they have no wires running to them. But a couple shotgun turrets in the entryway still need wires, and the lights in the kitchen won't light up unless I place and connect a generator within 20 feet, any farther, and they just won't work, wires or not. Any idea what is going on, and what I can do about it? (Before anyone asks, I do not have any mods that modify the power, or crafting)

Once again, Bethesda makes a fortified city with a heavy front gate, and then leaves the gate wide open after the player shows up. I really would like it if it would close after I come through, like you would expect.

I do. Whether it's placing Junk Fence walls around my settlement, or placing doors in the doorway of a pre-war house that I cannot demolish, it's really annoying to have objects no be placable. Especially when the game forces them to be off the ground, because of the collision mesh.
-
I know, right? I haven't had a settlement attacked yet, but right now, with me being unable to lock the doors/gates outside of console, it feels like attackers could just walk right in, so what's the point of my wall around my Settlements?

Console Command Confirmation Thread
Maniac3020 replied to MrsHandy's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I can confirm that the "showinventory" command works on NPCs. -
In response to post #30317760. #30338010 is also a reply to the same post. I have run bound to shift, but shift does something else in the Worshop menu, so I can't run with shift, because I can't rebind. And trying to reload while there's a super mutant corpse in front of you is just an exercise in annoyance.
