  1. So I'm making a tower shield mod and I'm going to have to admit that I'm no artist. my current test shield is literally a piece of a cylinder that I made in about five minutes and didn't bother texturing... aside from the lack of models and textures, though, the mod is done. they are working tower shields, fully capable of protecting you head to toe from pesky arrows and spells while you inch menacingly (and blindly) towards your foes. I have everything in place to just drop the meshes into the mod once I have them, then upload the mod (obviously giving credit to any artists). if any artist(s) would be so kind as to lend me their talents, I would be very grateful! what I'm looking for, specifically (16 types of shields, essentially every non-unique shield): Blades Tower Shield Daedric Tower Shield Dragonplate Tower Shield Dragonscale Tower Shield Dwarven Tower Shield Ebony Tower Shield Elven Tower Shield Falmer Tower Shield Glass Tower Shield Hide Tower Shield Imperial Light Tower Shield Imperial Tower Shield Iron Tower Shield Orcish Tower Shield Steel Plate Tower Shield (I'm aware there is no vanilla Steel Plate Shield) Steel Tower Shield for a little more detail on proportions, I can send you the test shield I have at the proper size, but roughly 2/3 the height of the player and the same width as the player (or a little bit more) should do fine. as for the actual size of the model, that doesn't matter; I can resize it so long as the proportions are right and it won't affect the textures much (unless you make the model ridiculously small). as for the textures, I'm looking for high def to match as closely as possible to the HD texture pack. any further questions can be asked here or in a personal message, I'm more than cooperative for free help! : D EDIT: and if you intend to put a curve on the shield (like my piece of a cylinder that I made) have no more than a 25-30 degree bend or it will clip with the player.
  2. well it's not gonna look like those shields, but I AM making a tower shield mod. once I upload it, you could just retexture that. and they will actually be tower shields, fully capable of protecting you from pesky arrows and spells from head to toe as you menacingly (and blindly) inch towards them.
  3. you mean like whether or not they get upset if you steal or murder? I don't even think followers will do that, will they? but yeah, if that is the case I'm pretty sure it's possible. open up the CK and find an NPC (in the Actors section, or search by name under "all"), right-click edit, go to the AI Data tab and there's a "Morality" setting. it's kinda limited (to "no crime", "property crime", "violence against enemies", or "any crime") so if you want anything fancy it would require scripting.
  4. but AWESOME. problem: I don't think it's possible without changing the game's code. it's most likely hard coded that the game's main timer stops when you open your inventory or books and such... I've been thinking for a while about making a mod like this, but I just can't see how.
  5. pertinent specs: AMD Phenom II X4 965, OC to 4.2 GHz ATI Radeon 5770HD, OC to 850 MHz GPU and 1200 MHz VRAM 4 GB DDR3-1333 RAM Windows 7 Professional x64 Skyrim v1.3.10 soooo no, it's not an issue with a GPU related texture cap or lack of LAA, and, as I have said before, it doesn't matter which mods I use, suggesting it's not a bad mod holding me back. I could probably go download any random 31 mods and it would still crash if I tried installing a 32nd. I've installed various arrays of mods, each time reaching a cap in terms of how many may be installed at once.
  6. GODDAMNIT. okay, nope; went back to being broken, and I didn't change ANYTHING. this is now just getting to be infuriating. I can, once again, only have a certain number of mods. it's a very finite number, seemingly always the same, but I'm not sure it it includes only the .esp mods or the texture/mesh mods as well. EDIT: I currently have 17 .esp files, 12 texture/mesh only mods (not managed by Wrye Bash), SkyBoost and ENB. So depending on what categories count and what don't count towards this arbitrary cutoff point, the max number is either 17, 29, or 31. if they're all counting then 31 IS (2^5)-1 so that could be it... why only assign a five bits for the potential load order? that doesn't make sense.
  7. thank you kindly! Wrye Bash seems to have solved the issue (while reinstalling Skyrim definitely did not). I'm still curious as to WHY Skyrim seems to have an issue with a certain number of mods; it wasn't that any were missing a master or any of their own files; but I suppose that's a question few people outside of Bethesda could answer. at any rate, I have all my mods installed now and I'm happy!
  8. I'm just letting Skyrim do that itself, and unfortunately I don't know the load order it's using. If I were to hazard a guess I would say alphabetically as this is how they seem to be arranged in the Data Files section of the Skyrim Launcher. I'll list the mods I have installed right now: SkyBoost ENB Fast Horse Dismount Lush Grass Quality World Map with All Roads (now the .esp files, in alpha order) Advanced Vampires No Sun Damage Advanced Werewolves Bloodx10 Bright Lights (from Darker Nights mod) Creature Stats Revised Damage Multiplyer Darker Nights Deadly Traps DeadlyCombat_WeaponsArmour Duel - Combat Realism Duel - Craftable Arrows Duel expansion Enduring Dragons Faster Arrows 50% Realistic Running Speed Realistic Water Textures Rotten Rat's FAST Sickly Diseases Sneak Rebalance If I try to install ANY of the other mods I have, Skyim will CTD on main menu. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling Skyrim right now to see if that fixes the issue.
  9. for a little bit of clarification, I'm not using the nexus mod manager or anything else, I'm manually installing all my mods.
  10. So I seem to be hitting some sort of limit on the number of mods I can install; no matter in what order or what mods I install, after I reach so many (about 20 .esp files and a number of texture/mesh mods) my game CTDs at the title screen and then I have to uninstall ALL my mods or it will continue to CTD, even if I just uninstall the most recently installed mods leaving only the ones that previously worked just fine together. Does anyone know if Skyrim is simply incapable of loading a certain number of mods? has anyone else encountered this? might there be a fix for this? I have been searching around the nexus and google for solutions or answers, obviously to no avail. if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
