(IF THIS POST BELONGS IN MOD TROUBLESHOOTING FEEL FREE TO MOVE IT. I WAS NOT ENTIRELY SURE WHICH SUB-FORUM WAS A GOOD FIT) Hey guys. Over time of playing Fallout 4 mods since December I have occasionally had to start a new game over. I've noted that starting without changing your mod order can lead to some issues with the main quests/scripting/NPC interaction. I remember myself I had to at least reach Diamond City for the first time before being (reasonably) safe enough to load all my mods. However, do the myriad updates of mods and Fallout 4 itself I'm not sure if this is an issue anymore, however I find myself having to restart due to corrupted saves (and just wanting to make a new character anyway). So I was wondering if any of the more knowledge out there among you could pick out any of the mods in my mod order that might cause a problem? I was also thinking (hence the title of the thread) of creating a standard list of mods that could cause vanilla quest/npc problems as sort of a warning, or maybe just so others with greater knowledge of the creation kit to make patches so that said mods only activate after certain events/meetings/values have been filled/passed? Feel free to yell at me for know knowing the state of things, but that's why this forum is here no?

Yeah, i would try other options first before resorting to "uninstall all your mods and start again" no offense. I get ye, but I had the same problem (non-responsive Diamond City NPCs) with pretty much the same mods you have. I had to forego activating ANY mods until at least making it to Diamond City the first time so I didn't have that problem. It's a pain, but it is what it is. TL;DR If you're going to load a bunch of mods during a new character build, at the VERY LEAST wait until you exit Vault 111 first. I'd wait longer.- 4 replies

Hello guys. I decided to do a new game start, and made it through the game up until you get to Diamond City I get to Diamond City, and the script introducing Piper and the Mayor runs, but no other NPCs can be interacted with (including Piper's sister) I went back to a save from a bit before (after I did one of the first Minutemen missions where you clean out the Corvega Plant), and where I could originally complete the quest by speaking to the relevant settlement's questgiver, I can no longer speak with him or the fmeale settler. I know this no doubt has something to do with my mod order, or a certain mod, so I'm going to have to experiment a bit. My issue is, I could always find the relevant mod and disable it but due to the scripts already being loaded (keep in mind my knowlege of how scripts work in game is VERY limited) I'm worried i MIGHT not even notice. (I THOUGHT about posting this in Mod Troubleshooting, but considering it's the main game assets that are effected I wasn't sure where to post.) Hey guys. I'm sure you've come across this a billion times, but i've been trying to play mods which add stuff outside the designated border regions. Namely, Haafstad and the Border of High Rock.
