Model updates, looked at the model as I was playing with it in game to see what I should fix, noticed the lower torso looked a bit bare and the feet looked blocky so I sorted those out. I also thought the top and bottom of the Hydraulics on the thighs looked a bit blocky too so I sorted that too, you can see in the picture what I'm talking about. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio...difications.jpg I also got the helmet in game to see how that looked. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio...lingameshot.jpg I noticed from behind the gun (when on the back) clips right through the armor, I could make it so it looks like its getting stored in a hole in the back of it. I also noticed that when aiming weapons while kneeling on the floor the arm clips right through the pipes sitting on the shoulders, not sure if that's gonna be easy to sort out (or if I should sort it out at all and just accept that its gonna clip no matter what)

I can help you with the rigging c: just email me the files and I'll get right onto it.

[Tutorial]Environment Mapping in Fallout 3
tyokio replied to Ghogiel's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
awesome tutorial, would be great to have a chrome effect on the hydraulics on my Lancer power armor : D -
are you sure about that? http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/1174/lancerarmor.jpg Work on this is now back in full swing (very late I know but better late then never!), since this image I modified the armor a bit more and have now split it up ready for UV mapping. Its going to end up with 8 different textures just for the body D:!!!
-
ok, this mod proves that I sould get used to zbrush now, that is some damn solid work there.
-
Update time! Been working on the High poly pieces of the leg, heres what I have so far. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/Leghighpoly.jpg I also made a uv map of the thigh to test the transfer process, its ok but needs a little improvement here and there. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/lowpolhighpol.jpg

Right now I'm busy solving problems I'm having with the deep eyes armor, which will definatly be benificial to solving potential problems when I get working on the lancer armor again. Its a problem that effected the titan power armor I made too.

Yesterday I made the choice of removing the metal plate infront of the groin, I just felt it didnt fit with the rest of the model really, I also confirmed this by asking the people over on the Bethsoft topic and they pretty much agreed with my descision. So yeah, this is how it looks now, http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/nondong.jpg aslo I remember some one asking me a while back If I could model some armor from spirits within, so I've begun working on that now. heres a paint over of that btw http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/final.jpg
-
I certainly agree with that and I've been thinking how it can be done, nothing too complex so thats good. I'm still adding some details to the concept art I made btw, its looking much better now I've been referencing the origional concept art. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/conceptcopy-1.jpg I've also started to uv map the armor too : D
-
it does kinda lol
-
yes I'm still working on it but I have a ton of other things I need to work on so progress will be slow. I can say that I have begun to think about the way I want the texture to look though, heres a initial concept of it. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio...LNONFALLOUT.jpg I will be adding extra details to this image as I get inspiration. its not the actual texture mind you, its just a paint over of the model I exported straight from maya.
-
I wouldnt have a clue how to do that :C or if its even been worked out for fallout 3 yet. Plus I wouldnt want to apply one to this armor either as I feel it wouldnt really add anything to the design. Forgot to update here again : D Got the model to work in game too but I exported the helmet too large so it makes the shoulders look really small. Going to modify the arms more any way. still havent started the texture but its going to prove more difficult now I havent got access to crazybump and I really despise the results that photoshops dds plugin produces. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/IMAGE-2.jpg Edit: found I allready posted the first image.
-
definatly will be some clipping, but bethesda dont seem to bothered with clipping when they made their power armor either.
-
lol, my bro made a mini boss fight against that character in geck. He never released it though so perhaps this could be applied to my own release of this armor. completed the lower legs and made some more modifications to the design, hope you like it : D. Going to look for any other modifications before I move onto the UV mapping process. heres what it looks like now http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/finished.jpg
-
got any examples I can see : D?
-
yeah thats the one, I'm not sure If I'll have the energy after all the work that this model will require. That is if I can find a brave texture artist who would want to attempt to texture this, then I could just move straight onto the modeling of the mercury armor
-
I'm most looking forward to th UNSC Marine Combat Armor, suiting my platoon in that armor would be awsome : D
-
its not ready yet no, I still have the lower legs to complete and additional details I want to add to the back. I also have the UV mapping and rigging stages to complete afterwards which will take even more time. I havent even started model 2 yet D: I'm having doubts that I will model the 2nd one seeing as this one will take so much time to finish.
-
41,848 nif skope says and thats not complete yet D: When I tested that in game it seemed to have managed it fine, not even an ounce of lag, plus I'd call my pc pretty average too.
-
what was the last screenshot I posted here D: I thought I kept this place up to date with those.. sorry about that : D lots happend since I last updated.... Torso Front Back also.... Had to make some ajustments to some areas after I did a test rig to see what the model looked ingame. the waist was far too thin and the pipes on the arms were not visable because it clipped into the cheast. I have now modified the waist and cheast areas of the mesh and have reduced the size of the arms too. I also put the piping which was origionally on the front of the arm on the back of the arm, which not only fixes the problem of it clipping into the cheast but also adds extra detail to the back of the model. It was kinda plain back there. going to see if this has fixed those issues so I can continue to add more details to the model. I'll take a screenshot and post it when I do that test.
-
Glad every ones liking the work in progress : D junin: well its a good thing because the arms might not clip through the body as much as it did with the titan armor I made. omgwtf666: I'm allready working on a new monster : D you can see him here http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/transfer.jpg I made him to test the Xnormals program. Not sure how I'm going to implement them though.. rkelly: thats the 2nd time I got asked that lol, I may make it but I dunno if I'll be able to texture it though, so if some ones willing to unwrap the UVs and texuture it then I'll certainly attempt to make the model for it.
-
Going to make another armor but I'm not holding back on the poly count this time : D If you havent seen it yet I was working on a mod which added an armor called "titan power armor" which can be seen here http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4143. I still plan on working on a few things with that too, but I wand to keep up the modelling practise so I started a new armor which was requested by raptor1261992 on this forum. This time I'm aiming at a much higher res model then before. Here a screenshot of what I've done so far. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/Lancer.jpg this is how it will end up (image provided by raptor1261992) http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff195/h...lien/armor2.jpg Some parts of the model look low poly at the moment but it'll look better in the end.
-
I managed to get it to work with the textures now btw: D shall I send you the file?
-
wow this armor kicks my titan armors ass :D great job! looking at it I was probably too hesitant to add details seeing as I knew I was going to have to rig/uv map it in the end which allways seems to take me forever to do.
-
I dont think they look crappy at all.
