  2. I don't know what this place does about this - but this name is very old. I am 31 years old, I had this handle used everywhere when I was much younger. I do not like it anymore. My Twitter, Insta, Twitch - everything I use online is all DovahkiinJeff. Please, if you guys don't allow this 99% of the time please make an exception. I will likely remove all of my files and reupload them on a new account otherwise.
  3. So the amulet appears, THANK YOU! but the ring only appears in 1st person. hmmmm i wonder if this is something on my end. EDIT: so the ring appears to disappear and reappear on certain camera angles and distances. Now.. that's weird. Amulet is good, though - how would I go about lowering it slightly. It's a bit too high on the neck. EDIT: Figured out the amulet. Thanks for telling me about outfit studio. See, already learning! Though the ring just straight up disappears in 3rd person for some reason, even when i put it on a follower.

If anyone gets this working I will credit you fully and will be in your debt. if I look at the nif when it's fixed I think I'll better understand it and be able to do this on my own for now on. I can just compare it to mine and learn from there.
  7. I did what you said and just made it worse. Now the chain doesn't even appear. I honestly don't know what I'm doing. All I've ever made in Skyrim was swords.

  9. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This is the first time I'm doing a custom amulet and It just floats in the same place on the character. Please help.   10. This is probably an impossible idea, but many games allow you to simply walk right through your teammate. Do you think this would be possible in Skyrim?
  11. http://viperslayer.net/ss.png As you can see in the area I circled the shadows appearing on people, and random other surfaces are ugly as hell. Now that's just a snapshot, during actual game play those shadow bits are moving all over the place and literally look like three or four window screens are moving across the surface all at the same time. It looks horrendous. I have ENB installed.
  12. Oh wait, its SUPPOSED to crash on me? That makes total sense. Steam should have just stayed out of this. They don't really belong to this scene IMO.
  13. Whenever I try to upload a mod to the steam network I get this error: "failed to write the mod file to the cloud" I don't even know what that means, and whenever that happens it seems to crash steam right away.

  15. Yup. I suck at google. Thanks a bunch. =] But where is the specular color at? the BSLightingShaderProperty but that seems to be missing, unless I completely missed a step or am blind.
  16. In Oblivion, i was comfortable with my process of modelling, texturing, and nifskoping weapons into one of my Oblivion mods. I got comfortable with it. So with Skyrim of course I'd want to start moving my mods over there, since one of them is fairly popular. Here's where I hit with a problem, the new nif format for Skyrim obviously has new bells and whistles which allows for more realistic models. In Oblivion there where Normal Maps, Glow Maps, and your textures. Skyrim models seem to have a bunch of stuff I'm unfamiliar with. Lets say I wanted an object to obviously have a normal map, regular texture, have a glow map, and be reflective or whatever other textures I can slap onto a model in Skyrim Nif files.... explain what each one is and how would I go about doing that in Nifskope and Photoshop? I've looked online to no avail. Maybe I just suck at google. :dry: Also, one other thing, why do all the weapons I put in have a slight green tint to them sometimes at odd angles of view?

  18. Well i did a test. I merely tried changing the name of the daedric great sword and it had no effect. something else must be going on. I'm not getting any CTDs though...
  19. Ill try that, but see.... I replaced the daedric greatsword model with a re-routed nif path of my own, saved it, and it still appeared in game as the regular model.
  20. Skyrim doesn't seem to be registering the esp file I created. I even went into my appdata folder to make sure it was listed on the plugin file, and it clearly is. Uhm... but when I attempt to player.additem, it says the object id doesn't exisit. I even swapped the model directory of an exisiting sword I have in my inventory with the sword I modeled and no effect, original bethsoft model showed up.
  21. Okay this thread can be closed. I have a lot of work to do now that I figured this out. Looks like the stand alone NEW version of nifskope does it all, adding the xml file to it ruins everything.
  22. I just realized my obj i'm importing is NOT including the UV map data. Why is it doing this? "Could not load texture data for UV editor." No matter how many times I hit import, regardless of me exporting via wings3d in 3ds or obj format, using the beta nifskope with the temporary updated xml file... the uv cords don't carry over when imported.
  23. I also might add that I use Wings3D, and exported via OBJ, I never had problems with Oblivion and I got this same sword into Oblivion today. However, interestingly enough, in nifskope; the skyrim version of my sword is completely flat grey.
