Hi together. I play BF3 on PC and I play the BF series since BF1942 and I always got all expansion packs. Only part I did not play was the 2142 one, never liked the futuristic settings. Now with BF3 I got a small platoon (mostly german) and two ranked servers. Both servers are protected by PBBans Hub Streaming and administrated by proCon and several player admins. The servers are located in central germany, europe (Frankfurt). There is a forum and a public TS3 server available. Some interesting ides, but for: -Revive old Nordic weapons and armor. At least the weapons can be modified into northern hero weapons by the default game already :) Regards -
I figured out, that sometimes you need to use parts like they are NOT ment to be used... An Example for your problem: - Take a house you like and place it in your cell. - Build another floor below the existing house with dungeon walls (eg stone walls would fit great for an cellar part) - in this floor you can place your own wall with a door space, which will let you enter your built house. - the existing door of your house will now be in first floor, try to hide it with some textures (a wall or a banner or something like that) Still you would have the problem, that you wont see the outer texture from inside so what you will have to do is to create a seperate inner cell and put em together with something like a small lobby area (even if only 1mm, you gonna need some room between exterior house and inner cell rooms. Will be a very hard piece of work. If I had to do this, I would start with the ground floor like described above. Then I would select this ground floor and dupe all the walls and pull em a little away from the "house". There I would start to turn the single textures 180° so I get an INNER room with the same walls like outside. Now give a s*** on exact placing and pull the items 1 pixel in each other which will make the inner rooms a little smaller than the outside house. The free space between the house and inner room I'd fill with a piller or anyting similar. Still a lot of work just to avoid a loading screen... Regards

Another Update. I am now ready for first beta release, alpha status is completed. The house is located next to the Rifton Gate near the Stable. THIS IS A BETA RELEASE, NOT FOR FINAL GAMEPLAY! Anyone interested in the project, just download the WinRar file and extract the .esp into your Data folder of Skyrim (where skyrim.esp is located). I really hope for some testers out there and some replies of found bugs / glitches, also pm's are very welcome. Found Bugs and known Issues: - Due to medium to high modification of the area aroung Riften Gate including markers for civil war it might raise your loading time if you reach the area the first time. - If it seems that the house is hovering in air, please stay in the area for a few seconds. The Terrain Structure will load completely depending of your system performance. If waiting doesnt help, try to enter the building and head out again. - Because of some fine tuning to the whole complex, a few walls opened some glitches, mainly at the frontside of the house. - A simple pillar is left in front of the house which shouldn't be there (still left from my editing Terrain markers, sorry) - Puppet platforms doesn't fit well, are a little too small - Some containers have weired names and strange items / gold amounts in it. This is left ftom some loot tests and well be corrected. - The shadow / light effects from the living room fireplace seems to have a little glitch - Forgot the outside part from the living room fireplace - The house seems to be built into the Rifton Citywalls a bit, this might stay like this or may be changed, not sure yet. - Missing the armor enchanting table at the smithing area

Hi together... As I'm working a lot atm, the progress of my mod is pretty slow. Anyways, I completed the inner rooms cell so far and started to place the base of the house near Rifton. Worked nice so far. Well, yesterday I wanted to build the 2nd floor and roof - but after searching 2 hours I gave up. How do you guys build your own (exterior) houses and custom rooftops? I only found complete houses so far and atm I think it would be faster to just dupe one of the houses and rebuild my inner rooms to fit it. BUT I want a complete custom house, so if any of you can give me hints how to build a custom roof or where to find such items in the CK. Off for work now and hoping for help... Regards

Little Update. The buildings inside rooms are now complete, there is a dungeon, a ground floor and a first floor so far. Ground floor is basically set with first benches and crafting tools. Anyone who is used to the ingame console is welcome to contact me here and I will send you the file and you can check out the progress so far.

Sorry for another noobish question as I am very new to the CK - but I remember some of this in the Video Tutorial. They said something of Room settings and items only appear if you are in the set room (a blue cube marker in CK). If you want to see different things from other "rooms" you need to combine em with portals... Maybe this is a helpful hint to find a solution for you, good luck. Regards -
Nearly same things happened to my first two tries of houses... As I'm pretty nooby in CK I solved it a special way. I activated all the snapping (Q and Ctrl Q), set down the scale to one and just duped parts insted of inserting new ones. This way all the parts were in the cell in the totally exact parameters and no more glitches came up... Maybe this helps you too a bit... In the meantime I got pretty used to place the parts even free hand in the cell. If I have problems with the border I use two ways: 1.) I use different Z coordinates 2.) I dont use mouse but the item preferences window. Zoom all the way in and set the scale to 0.1 or even small (down to 0.0001) and the use the little arrow buttons in the preferences window to move the part in the cell... You can go ultimative precise this way. Another way is to place em a little - uh how shall i say - with different angles. Hard to describe... Two Walls: - - Dont place em straight like -- but with a little angle like V but for sure only a little angle. Only 1 or 2 degrees and it helps a lot with getting rid of glitches. Good luck m8 and enjoy, the more you play with the CK the more you will see and find out. Its so ultimative big and so wunderfull if you start to get used to it a bit. :) Regards

I cannot see light markers in Render window.

Sorry for this noobish answer, just my two cents. I noticed there are FX Items for light and several markers for lights. The FX ones are the ones I usually use, they got bulp-style markers and it's easy to place and move em. The markers - well no idea. It's circle areas (like the grey large circle in ur picture) and I still got no idea what to do with that. I hope I am right, happened to me a few times that I placed an correct item just of the wrong category and was wondering ingame why it is not working. (For example static smithing amboss or chests) Good luck friend -

Hi together... As mentioned in my welcome thread, I gonna post all my details for my house project in Rifton here, including the help I need to let this project become a great one. Let's hope a few here are interested in some co-work ;-) [Eng] LEGAT'S MANOR Player Residence in Rifton, based on imperial Legion Design. The house itself uses the standart Rifton wall textures to fit in the landscape, final position in Rifton will be set later in the progress. Inside you will find alchemy, enchanting, cooking and smithing tools, wood chopping and smelting will be outside - also set later in the progress. Basic design will contain a loft style ground floor with a large room containing kitchen, dining room, living room, study section and crafting section only seperated by decoration and pillars. Only room in ground floor will contain a storage room including the door to the basement level. First floor will have all the beds and access to the balkony area. Depending on how good the roof creation will work, the house will have 2 balkonies or one balkony and a watchtower (Legion style). The house itself will have a strict functionally design, containers will have names for the parts they are ment to be used for. (Alchemy bag, Ingredients Cupboard, Smithing Crate, and so on...) There will be plenty of decoration options like weapon caches and armor puppets - BUT this is the part where I need the most of your help. Detailled Progress: alpha Status: • Basic Construction of Dungeon in Basement • Basic Construction of Ground Floor • Basic Construction of First Floor • Basic Construction of Roof / Balkony / Watch Tower • Basic Construction of Outside Landscape • Basic Shaping and placement of the house in Rifton beta Status: • First, private Release for Beta Testing and finding glitches in the base (*help needed) [Alpha Release: ] ○ Adding Decoration to the interieur (*help needed) ○ Adding Decoration to the Landscape Area ○ Config and Setup of special feature in dungeon below mansion ○ Adding Decoration to the dungeon area Pre-Release Fixes Status: ○ Setup and Placement of Bodyguard Soldier (*help needed) ○ Setup and Config of Quest to access the residence (*help needed) ○ Final Testing of all Features and last beta tests for new bugs or glitches found during creation progress (*help needed) ○ Finalisation of the walkthrough blog article and information video Public Release: ○ Publishing artwork, walktrough and video at youtube ○ Upload to steam workshop ○ Expacted time of Release: no date yet As you see, I just started and there is still a lot to do, but once I started something, I gonna work on it till is perfectly working. Depending how much help I get, it might take a month or half a year - no idea, but I WILL do this :) What do I need from you: 1. For beta testing I need willing players to run around in a nearly empty house and search corners and walls for glitches or texture bugs. Any general feedback is welcome in this step. I'd love to use my Teamspeak together with a few of you and walk around together in the house to talk about details directly. 2. About the intereur decoration, I still have problems with weapon caches and bookshelves. Own created ones wont work, so what I do now is open existing player houses and copy the items out of there. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I hope anyone out there is willing to check what I am doing wrong so I can do all the work myself - alternatively anyone who wants to "code" my placed items in the house is welcome and will maybe help to safe some time - still I'd prefer to finally understand what I am doing wrong... 3.) The same for characters like soldier bodyguards or armor puppets. I manage it to set up a puppet and it works to handle stuff over, but the puppet is moving and acts weired, once it got armor parts. Any help here is greatly welcome. 4.) I did NOT at all check in creating quests yet, so no idea if I will need help here. Anyways I marked it as a coop part in the creation progress. 5.) Anyone interested in may participate on a closed final testing before launch, just contact me here. Hi there everyone! My name is Marcel and I'm 31 years "old" and I'm playing computer games since I got my first 286SX many, many years ago. I was always focused on pc, never had an Atari, C64 or any console of the modern time ^^ I prefer shooter games and for sure roleplaying games - which brought me here. I registered a long time ago when I started playing Oblivion - but I was a "regular user" at that time. Downloaded a few mods (I love the dark magic tower in oblivion) and played for a few years. Now with Skyrim and the awesome construction kit, I wanna do some nice stuff and at the moment I am working on a residence for imperial legionaires in Rifton. The house will have two floors and a basement part which will contain a special surprise feature. Ground floor will contain all basic crafting architecture and will be designed like a Legat of the imperial Army deserves it. First floor will have the bedrooms for you, your wife and a special body guard. Next to Elder Scrolls I love to play Battlefield 3. I have a small platoon with some friends and we are hosting two servers for some nice action online. I got a TS3 server and - even if I'm a noob in modding - I'd say I'm not that stupid with coding and getting the point if someone explains things ^^ My first modding steps have been decades ago with Duke Nukem 3D (yes the OLD one). I loved to create levels there. Also Sims 3 - I usually only build houses there, the game itself is kinda boring ^^ Well, I gonna post seperate threads for my current projects, see all info there, cant wait to be a part of this big community :) Regards the7thguest
