A few years ago i bought Skyrim for my Xbox but without mods it was.. boring. So i decided to buy the Legendary Edition while it was on Steam sale last week. The question for me now is as you can see on the topic title.. what are the essential mods i should use? It's hard to get a working mod collection from scratch. I watched many of MxRs videos on youtube, searched the web for advices and found the "G.E.M.S."-Collection but it seems there are many mods which does the same thing etc or are conflicting with each other. I guess mods like SkyUI, UNP Body or CBBE and HDT are essential to use others like Immersive Armors/Weapons etc. but what struggles me most are for example mods like SkyrimRedone, there are so many compatibility patches/problems with other mods i don't get so far. Thanks for the replies, these helped alot but i got a problem.. it seems the vaultsuit is 1 big mesh/texture except for the yellow numbers and zipperthingy/belt. How can i seperate the shoes/make them invisible without beeing able to mark them? Sry maybe it is a stupid question but i never used such programs before.

okaaaaaaay that seems to be very...difficult for people who never used one of these programs.

Hey, this is my first attempt to make a small mod for myself and i don't know how to do it.. Now since cbbe is out i love playing my char with the vaultsuit but the boots are aweful, and theres no real military chestrig out there. so i planned to merge 3 outfits: vaultsuit + boots out of this mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6915/?) and the already ingame harness to imitate a modern chestrig. Is this possible and if yes, what do i need to do it? thanks in advance.
